The Gospel of the Nazarenes
a.k.a. The Gospel of the Hebrews
a.k.a. The Gospel of the Sacred Twelve
a.k.a. The Gospel of the Perfect Life in the Name of the Sacred. Amein.
Translated from the original Aramaic and first edited by the
Rev. Gideon Jasper Richard Ouseley
Blessed are those who read, hear, and do.
Old things pass away, then comes the new.
Out of the darkness arises the Light.
Here begins the Gospel of the Perfect Life of Yahu-Maria, the Messiah, the offspring of David through Yahusef and Miriam after the flesh, and the Son of Yahwah, through Divine Love and Wisdom, after the Spirit.
Prologue
From the Ages of Ages is the Eternal Thought [Ea]. The Thought is the Word, the Word is the Act, and these Three are One in the Eternal Law. The Law is with Yahwah [YHWH, AN], and the Law proceeds from Yahwah. All things are created by Law, and without it is not created anything that exists. In the Word is Life and Substance, the Fire and the Light. The Love and the Wisdom, are One for the Salvation of all. The Light shines in darkness, and the darkness does not conceal it. The Word is the one Life-giving Fire, shining into the world, the fire and light of every soul that enters into the world. I am in the world, the world is in Me, and the world knows it not. I come to my own House, and my friends do not receive Me. But as many as receive and obey, to them is given the power to become the Sons and Daughters of Yahwah, even to those who believe in the sacred Name, who are born of Yahwah, not of the will of the blood and flesh. The Word is incarnate, and dwells among us, whose Glory we beheld, full of Grace. Behold the Goodness, the Truth, and the Beauty of Yahwah!
Chapter 1
The Parentage And Conception Of Yahchanan The Immerser [John the Baptist]
1. There was in the days of Herod, the King of Judaea [Yahudah], a certain priest named Zacharyah [Zacharias, Zachariah], of the course of Abia. His wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
2. They were both righteous before Yahwah, walking blameless in all the commandments and ordinances of Yahwah. They had no child, because Elisabeth was barren, and now they were both well stricken in years.
3. It came to pass, while he executed the priest's office before Yahwah in the order of his course, according to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of YHWH [Yahwah]. The whole multitude of the people were praying outside at the time of the offering of incense.
4. There appeared to him a malak [messenger, worker, angel] of Yahwah standing over the altar of incense. When Zacharyah saw, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the malak said to him: Do not fear, Zacharyah, for your prayer is heard. Your wife Elisabeth will bear you a son, and you will call his name Yahchanan [John].
5. You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. He will be great in the sight of Yahwah. He will not eat flesh meats, nor drink strong drink. He will be filled with Yahwah's Spirit, even from his mother's womb.
6. Many of the children of Yisrayah [Israel] he will turn to Yahwah their Father. He will go before Him in the spirit and power of Eliyah [Elias, Elijah], to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for Yahwah.
7. Zacharyah said to the malak: How will I know this? For I am an old man, and my wife is well stricken in years. Answering, the malak said to him: I am Gabriyah [Gabriel], who stands in the presence of Yahwah. I am sent to speak to you, and to announce to you these glad tidings.
8. Behold, you are dumb and not able to speak, until the day these things will be performed. Then your tongue will be loosed, that you may believe my words which will be fulfilled in their season.
9. The people waited for Zacharyah, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple. When he came out, he could not speak to them. They perceived he saw a vision in the temple, for he made signs to them, and remained speechless.
10. It came to pass, as soon as the days of his ministration were accomplished, he departed to his own house. His wife Elisabeth conceived after those days, and hid herself five months, saying: Thus has Yahwah dealt with me in the days when He looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.
Chapter 2
The Immaculate Conception Of Yahushua The Messiah [NOT: Jesus the Christ]
1. In the sixth month the malak Gabriyah was sent from Yahwah, to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Yahusef [Joseph], of the house of David. The virgin's name was Miriam [Mary].
2. Yahusef was a just and rational Mind, and he was skilled in all manner of work in wood and in stone. Miriam was a tender and discerning Soul, and she wrought veils for the temple. They were both pure before Yahwah, and of them both was Yahu-Maria [Yahushua], who is called the Messiah [Annointed of Yahwah].
3. The malak came in to her, and said: Hail, Miriam, you who are highly favored, for the Motherhood of Yahwah is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
4. When she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. The malak said to her: Do not fear, Miriam, for you found favor with Yahwah. Behold, you will conceive in your womb, bring forth a child, and He will be great, Son of the Highest.
5. Yahwah will give to Him the throne of His father David. He will reign over the house of Yaacob [Jacob, Israel] forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.
6. Miriam said to the malak: How will this be, seeing I do not know a man? The malak answered, and said to her: Yahwah's Spirit will come upon Yahusef your spouse, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you, O Miriam. That sacred thing which will be born of you will be called the Messiah, the Child of Yahwah. On earth His Name will be called Yahu-Maria, for He will save the people from their sins, whosoever will repent, and obey His Law.
7. Therefore you will eat no flesh, nor drink strong drink, for the child will be consecrated to Yahwah from its mother's womb. He will take neither flesh nor strong drink, nor will razor touch His head.
8. Behold, your cousin Elisabeth, she conceived a son in her old age. This is the sixth month with her who was called barren. For with Yahwah no thing will be impossible. Miriam said: Behold the handmaid of Yahwah, be it to me according to your word. And the malak departed from her.
9. In the same day the malak Gabriyah appeared to Yahusef in a dream, and said to him: Hail, Yahusef, you who are highly favored, for the Fatherhood of Yahwah is with you. Blessed are you among men, and blessed is the fruit of your loins.
10. Yahusef was troubled as he thought upon these words. The malak of Yahwah said to him: Do not fear, Yahusef, you Son of David, for you have found favor with Yahwah. Behold, you will beget a child, and you will call His name Yahu-Maria, for He will save His people from their sins.
11. Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was written in the prophets, saying: Behold, a Maiden will conceive, be with child, bring forth a son, and will call His name Emmanuyah (which being interpreted is: Yahwah Within Us).
12. Being raised from sleep Yahusef did as the malak bid him, went in to Miriam, his espoused bride, and she conceived in her womb the sacred One.
13. Miriam arose in those days, went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Yahudah, entered into the house of Zacharyah, and saluted Elisabeth.
14. It came to pass, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Miriam, the babe leaped in her womb. Elisabeth was filled with the power of the Spirit, spoke with a clear voice, and said: Blessed are you among women, blessed is the fruit of your womb.
15. Why is this to me, that the mother of my Master should come to me? Lo, as soon as the voice of your salutation sounded in my ears, the babe leaped for joy. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a performance of those things which were told her from the sacred One.
16. Miriam said: My soul does magnify you, the Eternal, and my spirit does rejoice in Yahwah my Savior. You regarded the low estate of your handmaiden. Behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed.
17. You who are mighty did great things to me, and sacred is your Name. Your mercy is on those who fear you from generation to generation.
18. You showed strength with your arm, you scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
19. You put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted the humble and the meek. You filled the hungry with good things, and the rich you send away empty.
20. You help your servant Yisrayah [Israel] in remembrance of your mercy, as you spoke to our ancestors, to Abraham and to his seed forever. Miriam abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.
21. These are the words Yahusef spoke, saying: Blessed is the Father of our fathers and our mothers in Yisrayah. In an acceptable time you heard me, and in the day of salvation you helped me.
22. You said I will preserve and make you a covenant of the people to renew the face of the earth, to cause the desolate places to be redeemed from the hands of the spoiler.
23. You may say to the captives: Go you forth and be free. And to those who are in darkness: Show yourselves in the light. They will feed in the ways of pleasantness, and they will not hunt nor worry the creatures which I made to rejoice before me.
24. They will not hunger nor thirst anymore, nor will the heat smite them, nor the cold destroy them. I will make on all My mountains a way for travellers. My high places will be exalted.
25. Sing you heavens, rejoice you earth. O you deserts break forth with song, for you O Yahwah do comfort your people, and console those who suffered wrong.
Chapter 3
The Nativity Of Yahchanan The Baptist
1. Now Elisabeth's full time came that she should be delivered, and she brought forth a son. Her neighbors and her cousins heard how Yahwah showed great mercy upon her, and they rejoiced with her.
2. It came to pass that they came to circumcise the child on the eighth day. They called him Zacharyah, after the name of his father. His mother answered, and said: Not so, he will be called Yahuchanan [Yahwah is merciful and gracious]. They said to her: There is none of your kindred that is called by that name.
3. They made signs to his father, how he would have him called. He asked for a writing tablet, and wrote, saying: His name is Yahchanan. They all marvelled, for his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed. He spoke, and praised Yahwah.
4. Great awe came on all who dwelt round about them, and all these sayings were made known abroad throughout all the hilly country of Yahudah. All those who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying: What manner of child will this be! And the hand of Yahwah was with him.
5. His father Zacharyah was filled with Yahwah's Spirit, and prophesied, saying: Blessed are you, O Father of Yisrayah, for you visited and redeemed your people. You raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of your servant David, as you spoke by the mouth of your sacred prophets, which were since the world began.
6. That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all who hate us. To perform the mercy promised to our ancestors, and to remember your sacred covenant.
7. The oath which you swore to our father Abraham, that you would grant to us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might serve before you without fear in holiness and righteousness, all the days of our life.
8. This child will be called the Prophet of the Highest. He will go before your face, O Yahwah, to prepare your ways, to give to your people knowledge of salvation by the remission of their sins.
9. Through the tender mercy of Yahwah the dayspring from on high visited us, to give light to those who sit in darkness, and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
10. The child grew, waxed strong in spirit, and his mission was hidden till the day of his showing forth to Yisrayah.
Chapter 4
Nativity of Yahushua the Messiah
1. Now the birth of Yahu-Maria the Messiah went this way. It came to pass in those days there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. All the people of Syria went to be taxed, everyone into his own city.
2. Yahusef went up from Galilee with Miriam, out of the city of Nazareth into Yahudah, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem (because they were of the house and lineage of David), to be taxed with Miriam his espoused wife, who was great with child.
3. And so it was, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. She brought forth her firstborn child in a cave, wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger, which was in the cave, because there was no room for them in the inn. Behold, it was filled with many lights, on either side Twelve, bright as the Sun in his glory.
4. In the same cave there was an ox, a horse, an ass, a sheep, and beneath the manger was a cat with her little ones. There were doves also, overhead, and each had its mate after its kind, the male with the female.
5. Thus it came to pass that He was born in the midst of the animals which, through the redemption of man from ignorance and selfishness, He came to redeem from their sufferings, by the manifestation of the sons and the daughters of Yahwah.
6. In the same country there were shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. When they came, lo, the malak of Yahwah came upon them, the glory of the Highest shone round about them, and they were very afraid.
7. The malak said to them: Do not fear. Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which will be to all people. Unto you a Savior is born today in the city of David, which is Messiah, the sacred One of Yahwah. And this will be a sign to you: You will find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
8. Suddenly there was with the malak a multitude of the heavenly host praising Yahwah, saying: Glory to Yahwah in the highest, and on earth peace toward men of goodwill.
9. It came to pass, as the malaks were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another: Let us now go to Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which Yahwah made known to us.
10. They came with haste, found Miriam and Yahusef in the cave, and the Babe lying in a manger. When they saw these things, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning the child.
11. All those who heard it wondered at those things told them by the shepherds. Miriam kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising Yahwah for all the things they heard and saw.
12. When eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, His name was called Yahu-Maria [Yahushua, Yahwah Saves], as was spoken by the malak before He was conceived in the womb. When the days of her purification were accomplished according to the law of Moshe [Moses], they brought the child to Yerusalem, to present it to Yahwah (as it is written in the law of Moshe, every male that opens the womb will be called sacred to Yahwah).
13. Behold, there was a man in Yerusalem, whose name was Simeon. The same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Yisrayah, and Yahwah's Spirit was upon him. It was revealed to him that he should not see death before he saw the Messiah of Yahwah.
14. He came by the Spirit into the temple. When the parents brought in the child Yahushua, to do for Him after the custom of the law, he perceived the child as it were a Pillar of Light. Then he took Him up in his arms, blessed Yahwah, and said:
15. Let your servant depart in peace, according to your word. My eyes see your Salvation, which you prepared before the face of all people, to be a Light to lighten the Gentiles, and to be the glory of your people Yisrayah. His parents marvelled at those things which were spoken of Him.
16. Simeon blessed them, and said to Miriam His mother: Behold, this child is set for the falling and rising again of many in Yisrayah, and for a Sign which will be spoken against (yea, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.
17. There was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser, of a great age, who did not depart from the temple, but served Yahwah with fastings and prayers night and day.
18. Coming in that instant she likewise gave thanks to Yahwah, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Yerusalem. When they performed all things according to the law they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth.
Chapter 5
The Manifestation of Yahushua to the Magi
1. When Yahushua was born in Bethlehem of Yahudah, in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came certain Magi [magician sorcerer kings] from the east to Yerusalem, who purified themselves, and did not taste of flesh nor of strong drink, that they might find the Messiah whom they sought. They said: Where is He who is born King of the Yahudim [Jews]? We in the East saw His Star, and are come to worship Him.
2. When Herod the king heard these things he was troubled, and all Yerusalem with him. He gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, and demanded of them where the Messiah would be born.
3. They said to him: Bethlehem of Yahudah. For thus it is written by the prophet: And you Bethlehem, in the land of Yahudah, are not the least among the princes of Yahudah [Judah], out of you will come forth a Governor, that will rule my people Yisrayah [Micah 5:2].
4. When he had called the Magi privately, Herod enquired of them diligently what time the Star appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem, and said: Go and search diligently for the young child. When you find Him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship Him also.
5. When they heard the king, they departed. Lo, the Magi of the East saw the Star, and the malak of the Star went before them, till it came and stood over the place where the young child was. The Star had the appearance of six rays.
6. They went on their way with their camels and asses laden with gifts, and were intent on the heavens, seeking the child by the Star. They forgot their weary beasts for a little, who had borne their burden and heat of the day, and were thirsty and fainting, so the Star was hidden from their sight.
7. In vain they stood and gazed, and looked one upon the other in their trouble. Then they thought of their camels and asses, and hurried to undo their burdens, that they might have rest.
8. Now there was a well by the way near Bethlehem. As they stooped down to draw water for their beasts, lo, the Star they lost appeared to them, being reflected in the stillness of the water.
9. When they saw it they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.
10. They praised Yahwah who showed His mercy to them, even as they showed mercy to their thirsty beasts.
11. When they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Miriam His mother. They fell down, and worshipped Him. When they opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
12. Being warned of Yahwah in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way. They kindled a fire according to their custom, and worshipped Yahwah in the Flame.
13. When they were departed, behold, the malak of Yahwah appeared to Yahusef in a dream, saying: Arise, take the young child and His mother, flee into Egypt, and remain there until I bring you word, for Herod will seek to destroy Him.
14. He arose, took the young child and His mother by night, and departed into Egypt. He was there for about seven years until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of Yahwah by the prophet, saying: Out of Egypt I called my son [Hosea 11:1].
15. Elizabeth too, when she heard it, took her infant son, went up into a mountain, and hid him. Herod sent his officers to Zacharyah in the temple, and said to him: Where is your child? He answered: I am a minister of Yahwah, I am continually in the temple. I do not know where he is.
16. He sent again, saying: Tell me truly where your son is, do you not know your life is in my hand? Zacharyah answered: Yahwah is witness if you shed my blood. Yahwah will receive my spirit, for you shed the blood of the innocent.
17. They killed Zacharyah in the Temple between the sacred place and the altar. The people knew it, for a voice was heard: Zacharyah is dead, his blood will not be washed out until the avenger comes. After a time the priests cast lots. The lot fell upon Simeon, and he filled his place.
18. When he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, Herod was exceedingly wroth. He sent forth and killed all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts near there, from two years old and under, according to the time he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
19. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Yeremy the prophet [Yeremyah 31:15, Jeremiah], saying: In Rama there was a voice heard, lamentation, weeping, and great mourning. Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.
20. When Herod was dead, behold, a malak of Yahwah appeared in a dream to Yahusef in Egypt, saying: Arise, take the young child and His mother, and return into the land of Yisrayah, for they are dead who sought the young child's life.
21. He arose, took the young child and His mother, and came into the land of Yisrayah. They came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, and He was called the Nazarene.
Chapter 6
The Childhood And Youth Of Yahushua the Messiah
He Delivers A Lion From The Hunters
1. Yahusef and Miriam, His parents, went up to Yerusalem every year at the Feast of the Passover. They observed the feast after the manner of their brothers, who abstained from bloodshed, the eating of flesh, and from strong drink. When He was twelve years old, He went to Yerusalem with them after the custom of the feast.
2. When they fulfilled the days, the child Yahushua tarried behind in Yerusalem as they returned. His parents did not know of it. Supposing Him to be in the company, they went a day's journey. They searched for Him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. When they did not find Him, they turned back to Yerusalem, seeking Him.
3. It came to pass after three days, they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both hearing them, and asking them questions. All who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers.
4. When they saw Him, they were amazed, and His mother said to Him: Son, why did deal thus with us? Behold, your father and I searched for you, sorrowing. He said to them: How is it that you searched for me? Did you not know I must be in my Parents' House. They did not understand the saying which He spoke to them. But His mother kept all these sayings in her heart.
5. Seeing Him, a certain prophet said to Him: Behold, the Love and the Wisdom of Yahwah are one in you. In the age to come you will be called Yahu-Maria, for Yahwah will save mankind by the Messiah (which now is verily as the bitterness of the sea, but it will yet be turned into sweetness), but to this generation the Bride will not be manifest, nor yet to the age to come.
6. He went down with them, came to Nazareth, and was subject to them. He made wheels, yokes, and tables also, with great skill. Yahushua increased in stature and in favor with Yahwah and man.
7. On a certain day the child Yahushua came to a place where a snare was set for birds, and there were some boys there. Yahushua said to them: Who set this snare for the innocent creatures of Yahwah? Behold, in a snare they will be caught in like manner. He beheld twelve sparrows, as it were dead.
8. He moved His hands over them, and said to them: Go, fly away, and remember me while you live. They arose, and fled away making a noise. Seeing this, the Yahudim were astonished, and told it to the priests.
9. And the child did other wonders. Flowers were seen to spring up beneath His feet, where there was nothing but barren ground before. His companions stood in awe of Him.
10. A certain day after this, the child Yahushua was playing with His companions, younger than Himself. They gathered round Him, and chose Him as their king. As He sat they twined an olive branch with flowers, they made it into a crown, they placed it on His head, and a reed in His hand for a sceptre.
11. They made obeisance to Him, saying: Hail, King of Yisrayah! He said to them: Hold your peace, you do not know what you say. Do not tell it to any. Such words are not for you to proclaim, but for those to whom it will be given.
12. They marvelled. One passing by heard it, and he said: Yea, truly, you chose well, for He is a comely child, and of great nobility.
10. In the eighteenth year of His age, Yahushua was espoused to Miriam (a virgin of the tribe of Yahudah) with whom He lived seven years. She died, for Yahwah took her, that He might go on to the higher things which He had to do, to suffer for the sons and daughters of men.
11. After He finished His study of the law, Yahushua went down again into Egypt, that He might learn of the wisdom of the Egyptians, even as Moshe did. Going into the desert, He meditated, fasted, prayed, and obtained the power of the sacred Name, by which He wrought many miracles.
12. For seven years he conversed with Yahwah face to face. He learned the language of birds and of beasts, the healing powers of trees, herbs, and flowers, the hidden secrets of precious stones. He learned the motions of the Sun, the Moon, and the stars, the powers of the letters, mysteries of the Square and the Circle, the Transmutation of things, of forms, of numbers, and of signs. From there He returned to Nazareth to visit His parents. He taught there and in Yerusalem as an accepted Rabbi, even in the temple, none hindering Him.
13. After a time He went into Assyria, India, Persia, and into the land of the Chaldeans [Babylon]. He visited their temples, conversed with their priests and their wise men for many years, and doing many wonderful works, healing the sick as He passed through their countries.
14. The beasts of the field had respect to Him, and the birds of the air were in no fear of Him, for He did not make them afraid. Yea, even the wild beasts of the desert perceived the power of Yahwah in Him, and did Him service bearing Him from place to place.
15. The Spirit of Divine Humanity filled Him, filled all things around Him, and made all things subject to Him. Thus are fulfilled the words of the prophets: The lion will lie down with the calf, the leopard with the kid, the wolf with the lamb, the bear with the ass, the [owl] with the dove, and a child will lead them. [Yeshayah 11:6]
16. None will hurt or destroy in my sacred mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the sacred One, even as the waters cover the bed of the sea. In that day I will make again a covenant with the beasts of the earth, the fowls of the air, the fishes of the sea, and with all created things. I will break the bow and the sword. I will banish all the instruments of warfare from the earth, and will make them to lie down in safety, to live without fear.
17. I will betroth you to me forever in righteousness, in peace, and in loving kindness. You will know Yahwah, and the earth will bring forth the corn, the wine, and the oil. I will say to those who were not my people: You are my people. Then they will say to me: You are our Father.
18. On a certain day He was passing by a mountainside, near to the desert. A lion met Him there, many men were pursuing him with stones and javelins to kill him.
19. Yahushua rebuked them, saying: Why do you hunt these creatures of Yahwah, who are more noble than you? By the cruelties of many generations they were made the enemies of man who should have been his friends.
20. If the power of Yahwah is shown in them, so also is shown His long-suffering and compassion. Cease to persecute this creature who does not desire to harm you. See how he flees from you, and is terrified by your violence?
21. The lion came and lay at the feet of Yahushua, and showed love to Him. The people were astonished, and said: Lo, this man loves all creatures. He has power to command even these beasts from the desert, and they obey Him.
Chapter 7
The Preaching Of Yahchanan The Baptist
1. In the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate was governor of Yahudah, Herod was tetrarch of Galilee, Caiaphas was the high priest, and Annas chief of the Sanhedrim. The Word of Yahwah came to Yahchanan the son of Zacharyah, in the wilderness.
2. He came into all the country about Yordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. It is written in the prophets: Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your way before you. The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the sacred One, make straight the paths of the Anointed [Isaiah 40:3, Malachi 3:1, Matthew 3:3].
3. Every valley will be filled, and every mountain and hill will be brought low. The crooked will be made straight, and the rough ways will be made smooth. All flesh will see the Salvation of Yahwah [Isaiah 40:4-5].
4. The same Yahchanan had his garment of camel's hair, a girdle of the same about his loins, his meat was the fruit of the locust tree, and wild honey. Yerusalem went out to him, all Yahudah, all the region round about Yordan, and were baptized of him in the Yordan [Jordan River] confessing their sins.
5. He said to the multitude who came forth to be baptized of him: O generation of disobedient ones, who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth fruits worthy of repentance, do not say within yourselves: We have Abraham for our father.
6. For I say to you, Yahwah is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham. Already the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree which does not bring forth good fruit is cut down, and cast into the fire.
7. The wealthier people asked him, saying: What should we do then? He answered, and said to them: He who has two coats, let him impart to him who has none, and he who has food let him do likewise.
8. Then certain taxgatherers came to be baptised, and said to him: Master, what should we do? He said to them: Exact no more than what is appointed you, and be merciful after your power.
9. The soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying: What should we do? He said to them: Do violence to no man, nor accuse any falsely, and be content with sufficient wages.
10. He spoke to all, saying: Keep yourselves from blood, things strangled, from dead bodies of birds and beasts, from all deeds of cruelty, and from all that is gotten of wrong. Do you think the blood of beasts and birds will wash away sin? I tell you: No. Speak the Truth. Be just. Be merciful to one another, and to all creatures that live. Walk humbly with Yahwah.
11. The people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of Yahchanan, whether he was the Messiah or not. Yahchanan answered, saying to them all: I indeed baptize you with water, but One mightier than I comes, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose.
12. He will baptize you with water, and with fire. His fan is in His hand. He will thoroughly purge His floor, and will gather the wheat into His garner. He will burn the chaff with fire unquenchable [entropy]. And in his exortation he preached many other things to the people.
Chapter 8
The Baptism of Yahu-Maria The Messiah
1. It was in the middle of the summer, the tenth month. Yahushua came from Galilee to Yordan to Yahchanan, to be baptized of him. But Yahchanan discouraged Him, saying: I have need to be baptized of you, yet you come to me? Yahushua said to him: Allow it to be so now, for thus it becomes us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he allowed Him.
2. When He was baptized, Yahushua went up straightaway out of the water. Lo, the heavens were opened to Him. A bright cloud stood over Him, and from behind the cloud Twelve Rays of Light. In the form of a Dove, the Spirit of Yahwah descended and lighted upon Him. Lo, a voice from heaven, saying: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. This day I have begotten you.
3. Yahchanan bore witness of Him, saying: This is He of whom I spoke: He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me. Of His fulness we all received, grace for grace. The law was given in part by Moshe, but grace and truth comes in fulness by Yahushua Messiah.
4. No man has seen Yahwah at any time. The only begotten comes from the bosom of the Eternal, and Yahwah is revealed in the same. This is the record of Yahchanan, when the Yahudim sent priests and Levites from Yerusalem to ask him: Who are you? He did not deify himself, but confessed: I am not the Messiah.
5. They asked him: Who then? Are you Eliyah? And he said: I am not. Are you that prophet of whom Moshe spoke [Deuteronomy 18:15]? And he answered: No. They said to him: Who are you? That we may give an answer to those who sent us, what do you say of yourself? He said: I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of the sacred One; as said the Prophet Yeshayah.
6. Those who were sent were of the Pharisees, they asked him, and said to him: Why do you baptize then, if you are not the Messiah, nor Eliyah, nor the prophet of whom Moshe spoke?
7. Yahchanan answered them, saying: I baptize with water. But there stands One among you, whom you do not know. He will baptize with water and with fire. He it is who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.
8. These things were done in Bethabara, beyond Yordan, where Yahchanan was baptizing. Yahushua began at this time to be thirty years of age, being after the flesh indeed the Son of Yahusef and Miriam. But after the Spirit, the Messiah, the Son of Yahwah (the Father and Mother Eternal) as was declared by the Spirit of holiness, with power.
9. Yahusef was the son of Yaacob and Elisheba, and Miriam was the daughter of Eli (called Joachim) and Anna, who were the children of David and Bathsheba, of Yahudah and Shela, of Yaacob and Leah, of Isaac and Rebecca, of Abraham and Sarah, of Seth and Maat, of Adam and Hawah, who were the children of Yahwah.
Chapter 9
The Four Temptations
1. Yahushua was led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the Devil. The wild beasts of the desert were around Him, and became subject to Him. He fasted forty days and forty nights, and afterwards He was hungered.
2. The tempter came to Him, he said: If you are the Son of Yahwah, command that these stones be made bread. For it is written: I will feed you with the finest of wheat, with honey, and I will satisfy you out of the rock.
3. He answered and said: It is written: Man will not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahwah [Deuteronomy 8:3].
4. The Devil placed a woman before Him, of exceeding beauty and comeliness, of subtle wit, and a ready understanding also. He said to Him: Take her as you will, for her desire is to you. You will have love, happiness, and comfort all your life, and see your children's children. Yea, is it not written: It is not good for man that he should be alone? [Genesis 2-18]
5. Yahu-Maria said: Get behind me. For it is written: Do not be led away by the beauty of woman, yea, all flesh is as grass and the flower of the field. The grass withers, and the flower fades away, but the Word of the Eternal endures forever. My work is to teach and to heal the children of men. He who is born of Yahwah keeps his seed within him.
6. The Devil took Him up into the sacred city, and set Him on a pinnacle of the Temple. He said to Him: If you are the Son of Yahwah, cast yourself down. For it is written: He will give His malaks charge concerning you, in their hands they will bear you up unless at any time you dash your foot against a stone [Psalm 91:11-12].
7. Yahushua said to him: It is written again: You will not tempt Yahwah your Father [Deuteronomy 6:16].
8. The Devil took Him up into an exceeding high mountain in the middle of a great plain and, round about, twelve cities and their peoples. From there he showed to Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. The Devil said to Him: All this power I will give you, and the glory of them, for that is delivered to me. To whomsoever I will, I give it. For it is written: You will have dominion from sea to sea, you will judge your people with righteousness, your poor with mercy, and make a full end of oppression. If you will worship me, all will be yours.
9. Yahu-Maria answered, and said to him: Get behind me, Satan. For it is written: You will worship Yahwah, and Him only you will serve. Without the power of Yahwah, the end of evil cannot come.
10. The Devil ended all the temptations, left Him, and departed for a season. Behold, malaks of Yahwah came and ministered to Him.
Chapter 10
Yahusef And Miriam Make A Feast To Yahushua
Andrew And Kepha Find Yahushua
1. When He returned from the wilderness, His parents made Him a feast the same day, and they gave to Him the gifts the Magi presented to Him in His infancy. Miriam said: These things we kept for you even till today. She gave to Him the gold, the frankincense, and the myrrh. He took the frankincense, but the gold He gave to His parents for the poor, and the myrrh He gave to Miriam who is called Magdalene.
2. Now this Miriam was of the city of Magdala in Galilee. She was a great sinner, and seduced many by her beauty and comeliness. The same came to Yahushua by night, and confessed her sins. He put forth His hand, healed her, and cast seven demons out of her. He said to her: Go in peace, your sins are forgiven you. She arose, left all, followed Him, and ministered to Him of her substance during the days of His ministry in Yisrayah.
3. The next day Yahchanan saw Yahushua coming to him, and said: Behold! The Lamb of Yahwah, who by righteousness takes away the sin of the world. This is He of whom I said: He was before me. I did not know Him, but I come baptizing with water, that He should be made manifest to Yisrayah.
4. Yahchanan bore record, saying: I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a Dove, and it abode upon Him. I did not know Him. He who sent me to baptize with water, the same said to me: Upon whoever you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He who baptizes with water and with fire, even the Spirit. I saw, and bore record that this is the Son of Yahwah.
5. The day after, Yahchanan stood by the Yordan with two of his disciples. Looking upon Yahushua as He walked, he said: Behold the Messiah, the Lamb of Yahwah! The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Yahushua.
6. Yahushua turned, saw them following, and said to them: What do you seek? They said to him: Rabbi (which is, being interpreted, Master), where do you dwell? He said to them: Come and see. They came, saw where He dwelt, and abode with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.
7. One of the two who heard Yahchanan speak and followed Him was Andrew, Simon Kepha's brother. He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him: We found the Messiah. He brought him to Yahushua. When Yahushua beheld him, he said: You are Simon Bar Yona. You will be called Kepha (which is, by interpretation, a small rock). [note that Peter means: father]
8. The following day, Yahushua went forth into Galilee, found Philip, and said to him: Follow me. Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Kepha. Philip found Nathanyah, who is called Bar Tholmai, and said to him: We found Him of whom Moshe in the law and the Prophets did write [Deuteronomy 18:15], Yahushua of Nazareth, the son of Yahusef and Miriam. Nathanyah said to him: Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip said to him: Come and see.
9. Yahushua saw Nathanyah coming to Him, and said of him: Behold an Yisrayahite [Israelite] indeed, in whom is no guile! Nathanyah said to Him: Where do you know me from? Yahushua answered and said to him: Before Philip called you, when you were under the Fig tree, I saw you. Nathanyah answered, and said to Him: Rabbi, you are the Son of Yahwah! You are the King of Yisrayah! Yea, under the Fig tree I found you.
10. Yahushua answered and said to him: Nathanyah Bar Tholmai, you believe me because I said to you: I saw you under the Fig tree? You will see greater things than these. He said to him: Verily, verily, I say to you, soon you will see heaven open, and the malaks of Yahwah ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
Chapter 11
The Anointing By Miriam Magdalene
1. One of the Pharisees desired Him that He would eat with him. He went into the Pharisee's house and sat down to eat.
2. Behold, a certain woman of Magdala, who was reputed to be a sinner, was in the city. When she knew Yahushua sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, she brought an Alabaster box of ointment. She stood at His feet behind Him, weeping, washed His feet with tears, wiped them with the hairs of her head, kissed His feet, and anointed them with ointment.
3. When the Pharisee who bid Him saw it, he thought within himself, saying: This man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is that touches Him, for she is a sinner.
4. Yahushua said to him: Simon, I have somewhat to say to you. So he said: Master, say on.
5. There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. The one owed five hundred pence and the other fifty. When they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me, therefore, which of them will love him most.
6. Simon answered and said: I suppose he to whom he forgave most. And He said to him: You have rightly judged.
7. He said to Simon: Do you see this woman? I entered into your house, you gave me no water for my feet. She washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. You gave me no kiss, but this woman since the time I came in has not ceased to kiss my feet. You did not anoint my head with oil, but this woman anointed my feet with ointment.
8. So I say to you, Man, but also beast, birds of the air, yea, even the fishes of the sea. To whom little is forgiven, the same loves little. Her sins, which are many, are forgiven. She loved much, not only man, but also beast and birds of the air, yea, even the fishes of the sea. To whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.
9. He said to her: Your sins are forgiven. Those who sat at the table began to say within themselves: Who is this who forgives sins also?
10. Though He did not say: I forgive you. But: Your sins are forgiven you. He discerned true faith and penitence in her heart. Yahushua did not need that any should testify of any man, for He Himself knew what was in man.
Chapter 12
The Marriage In Cana
The Healing of the Nobleman's Son
1. The next day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. The mother of Yahushua was there, both Yahushua and Miriam Magdalene were there, and His disciples came to the marriage.
2. When they wanted wine the mother of Yahushua said to Him: They have no wine. Yahushua said to her: Woman, what is that to you and to me? My hour is not yet come. His mother said to the servants: Whatsoever He says to you, do it.
3. There were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Yahudim, containing two or three firkins apiece. Yahushua said to them: Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. He said to them: Draw out now, and bear to the governor of the feast. So they bore it.
4. The ruler of the feast tasted the water that was made wine to them, and did not know where it was from. The governor of the feast called the bridegroom, and said to him: Every man does set forth good wine at the beginning, and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse, but you have kept the good wine until now.
5. This beginning of miracles Yahushua did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth His glory, and many disciples believed on Him.
6. After this He went down to Capernaum, He, and his mother, with Miriam Magdalene, His brothers, and His disciples, and they continued there for many.
7. There arose a question between some of Yahchanan's disciples and the Yahudim about purifying. They came to Yahchanan, and said to him: Rabbi, He who was with you beyond Yordan, to whom you bore witness, behold, the same baptizes, and all do come to Him.
8. Yahchanan answered and said: A man can receive nothing, except it is given him from heaven. You yourselves bear me witness, that I said: I am not the Messiah, I am sent before Him.
9. He that has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Thus my joy is fulfilled. He must increase, but I must decrease. He that is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth. He that comes from heaven is above all.
10. Certain of the Pharisees came and questioned Yahushua, and said to Him: How do you say Adonai [my Lord] will condemn the world? Yahushua answered, saying: Yahwah so loved the world, that the only begotten Son is given, and comes into the world, that whosoever believes in Him may not perish, but have everlasting life. Yahwah does not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world may be saved through Him.
11. Those who believe on Him are not condemned. Those who do not believe are condemned already, because they did not believe in the Name of the only begotten of Yahwah. Here is the condemnation: the Light is come into the world, but men love darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil.
12. All those who do evil hate the Light, nor do they come to the Light, unless their deeds are condemned. Those who do righteousness come to the Light, that their deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in Yahwah.
13. There was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard Yahushua was come into Galilee, he went to Him, and begged Him, that he would come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.
14. Yahushua said to him: Except you see signs and wonders, you will not believe. The nobleman said to Him: Sir, come down before my child dies.
15. Yahushua said to him: Go your way, your son lives. The man believed the word Yahushua spoke to him, and he went his way. As he was going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying: Your son lives.
16. He enquired of them the hour when he began to amend. They said to him: Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him. So the father knew it was at the same hour in the which Yahushua said to him: Your son lives. He believed, and his whole house.
Chapter 13
The First Sermon In The Synagogue Of Nazareth
1. Yahushua came to Nazareth, where He was brought up. As His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up to read. There was delivered to Him the roll of the prophet Yeshayah.
2. He opened the roll, and found the place where it was written: The Spirit of Yahwah is upon
me. He anointed
me to preach the gospel to the poor. He sent
me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are bound, and to preach the acceptable year of Yahwah. [Nazarenes 65:7, Isaiah 61:1-3]
3. He closed the roll, gave it again to the minister, and sat down. The eyes of all those who were in the synagogue were fastened on Him. He began saying to them: This scripture is fulfilled in your ears today. All bore Him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of His mouth. They said: Is this not Yahusef's son?
4. Some brought to Him a blind man to test his power, and said: Rabbi, here is a son of Abraham blind from birth. Heal him as you healed Gentiles in Egypt. Looking upon him, He perceived his unbelief, the unbelief of those that brought him, and their desire to ensnare Him. He could do no mighty work in that place because of their unbelief.
5. They said to him: Whatsoever we heard done in Egypt, do also here in your own country. He said: Verily I say to you, No prophet is accepted in his own home or in his own country, nor does a physician work cures upon those who know him.
6. I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Yisrayah in the days of Eliyah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land. But to none of them was Eliyah sent, save to Sarepta, a city of Sidon, to a woman that was a widow.
7. Many lepers were in Yisrayah in the time of Eliseus the prophet, and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.
8. All those in the synagogue were filled with wrath when they heard these things. They rose up, thrust Him out of the city, and led Him to the brow of the hill their city was built on, that they might cast Him down headlong. But He passed through the midst of them, escaped them, and went His way.
Chapter 14
The Calling Of Andrew And Kepha
The Teaching of Cruelty in Animals
The Two Rich Men
1. Herod the tetrarch, reproved by Yahchanan the Immerser for Herodias his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils he did, added yet this above all: he shut up Yahchanan in prison.
2. Yahushua began to preach, and to say: Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. As He was walking by the sea of Galilee, He saw Simon called Kepha, and Andrew his brother, casting a net in the sea, for they were fishers. He said to them: Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. They immediately dropped their nets, and followed Him.
3. Going on from there He saw other two brothers mending their nets, Yaaqob [James] the son of Zebedee, and Yahchanan [John] his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father. He called them. They immediately left their nets, the ship, their father, and followed Him.
4. Yahushua went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, healing all manner of sickness, and all manner of disease, among the people. The fame of His miracles went throughout all Syria. They brought to Him many sick people who were taken with different diseases, torments, those which were lunatic, and those that had the palsy, and He healed them.
5. Great multitudes of people from Galilee followed Him, and from Decapolis, and from Yerusalem, and from Yahudah, and from beyond Yordan.
6. As Yahushua was going with some of His disciples He met with a certain man who trained dogs to hunt other creatures. He said to the man: Why do you do this? The man said: By this I live, and what profit is there to any in these creatures? These creatures are weak, but the dogs they are strong. Yahushua said: You lack wisdom and love. Lo, every creature Yahwah made has its end and purpose, who can say what good there is in it? Or what profit to yourself, or mankind?
7. For your living, behold the fields yielding their increase, the fruit-bearing trees, and the herbs. What do you need more than these which honest work of your hands will not give to you? Woe to the strong who misuse their strength. Woe to the hunters for they will be hunted.
8. The man marvelled, left off training the dogs to hunt, and taught them to save life rather than destroy. He learned of the doctrines of Yahushua, and became His disciple.
9 Behold, there came to Him two rich men, and one said: Good Master. But He said: Do not call me good, for One alone is all good, and that is Yahwah.
10. The other said to Him: Master, what good thing will I do and live? Yahushua said: Perform the Law and the prophets. He answered: I have performed them. Yahushua answered: Go, sell all you have, divide with the poor, and follow me. This saying did not please him.
11. Yahushua said to him: How do you say you performed the Law and the prophets? Behold, many of your brothers are clad with filthy rags, and dying from hunger. Your house is full of much goods, and there goes nothing from it to them.
12. He said to Simon: It is hard for the rich to enter the kingdom of heaven, for the rich care for themselves, and despise those who do not have.
Chapter 15
Healing Of The Leper And The Man With Palsy
The Deaf Man Who Denied That Others Could Hear
1. When He was in a certain city it came to pass, behold, a man full of leprosy. Seeing Yahushua, he fell toward the earth, and begged Him, saying: Master, if you will, you can make me clean. He put forth His hand, and touched him, saying: Blessed are you who believes. I will, be you clean. Immediately the leprosy departed from him.
2. He charged him, saying: Tell no man. Go, show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according as Moshe commanded, for a testimony to them. But so much the more a fame went abroad of Him. Great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by Him of their infirmities. He withdrew Himself into the wilderness, and prayed.
3. It came to pass on a certain day, as He was teaching, there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by to see those who came out of every town, of Galilee, Yahudah, and Yerusalem. And the power of Yahwah was present to heal them.
4. Behold, they brought a man in a bed who was taken with a palsy. They wanted means to bring him in, and to lay him before Him. When they could not find by what way they might bring him in (because of the multitude) they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Yahushua. When He saw their faith, He said to him: Man, your sins are forgiven you.
5. The scribes and the pharisees began to reason, saying: Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but Adonai alone? But Yahushua perceived their thoughts, and answering He said to them: What do you reason in your hearts? Can even Yahwah forgive sins, if man not repent? Who said: I forgive you your sins? Did I not rather say: Your sins are forgiven you?
6. Which is easier to say? Your sins are forgiven you; or to say: Rise up and walk? But that you may know the Son of Man has power upon earth to discern, and declare the forgiveness of sins, (He said to the sick of the palsy:) I say to you, Arise, take up your couch, and go to your house.
7. Immediately he arose up before them, took up what he lay on, and departed to his own house, glorifying Yahwah. They were all amazed. They glorified Yahwah, and were filled with the Spirit of reverence, saying: We saw strange things today.
8. As Yahushua was going into a certain village a man met Him there who was deaf from his birth. He did not believe in the sound of the rushing wind, or the thunder, or the cries of the beasts, or the birds which complained of their hunger or their hurt, nor that others heard them.
9. Yahushua breathed into his ears, they were opened, and he heard. He rejoiced with exceeding joy in the sounds he denied before. And he said: Now I hear all things.
10. Yahushua said to him: How do you say, I hear all things? Can you hear the sighing of the prisoner, or the language of the birds or the beasts when they commune with each other, or the voice of gods and spirits? Think how much you can not hear, and be humble in your lack of knowledge.
Chapter 16
Calling of Matthew
Parable of the New Wine in the Old Bottles
1. After these things He went forth, and saw a tax gatherer named Levi [Matthew], sitting at the receipt of custom. He said to him: Follow me. He left all, rose up, and followed Him.
2. Levi made Him a great feast in his own house, and there was a great company of taxgatherers and of others who sat down with them. The Scribes and Pharisees murmured against His disciples, saying: Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?
3. Yahushua answering said to them: Those who are whole do not need a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.
4. They said to Him: Why do the disciples of Yahchanan fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours do eat and drink?
5. He said to them: What will I liken to the men of this generation, and to what are they like? They are like children, sitting in the market place, calling one to another, and saying: We piped to you, and you did not dance, we mourned to you, and you did not lament.
6. Yahchanan the Immerser came neither eating nor drinking, and you say: He has a devil. The Son of Man comes eating, drinking the fruits of the earth, the milk of the flock, the fruit of the vine, and you say: Behold, a glutton and wine bibber, a friend of publicans and sinners.
7. Can you make the children of the bridechamber fast while the bridegroom is with them? The days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.
8. He spoke also this parable to them, saying: No man puts a piece of new cloth upon an old garment, for then the new does not agree with the old, and the garment is made worse.
9. No one puts new wine into old bottles, else the new wine will burst the bottles, be spilled, and the bottles will perish. New wine must be put into new bottles, and both are preserved.
10. After drinking old wine, none desire new, for they say: The old is better. But the time comes when the new will get old, and then the new will be desired by them. As one changes old garments for new ones, so they also change the body of death for the body of life, and that which is past for that which is coming.
Chapter 17
Yahushua Sends Forth The Twelve and their Fellows
1. Yahushua went up into a mountain to pray. He called to Him His twelve disciples. He gave them power against unclean spirits to cast them out, to heal all manner of sickness, and all manner of disease. Now the names of the twelve apostles who stood for the twelve tribes of Yisrayah are these:
2. Kepha [Simon] for the tribe of Reuben; Yaaqob, for the tribe of Naphtali; Thomas, called Dydimus [Twin], for the tribe of Zabulon; Matthew, called Levi, for the tribe of Gad; Yahchanan, for the tribe of Ephrayim; Simon, for the tribe of Issachar;
3. Andrew, for the tribe of Yahusef; Nathanyah, for the tribe of Simeon; Thaddeus, for the tribe of Zabulon; Yaacob, for the tribe of Benjamin; Jude, for the tribe of Dan; Philip, for the tribe of Asher. Judas Iscariot, a Levite, who betrayed Him, was also among them (but he was not of them). Matthia and Barsabbas were also present with them.
4. In like manner He called twelve others to be Prophets, men of light to be with the Apostle, and show to them the hidden things of Yahwah. Their names were Hermes, Aristobulus, Selenius, Nereus, Apollos, Barsabbas, Andronicus, Lucius, Apelles, Zachaeus, Urbanus, and Clementos. He called twelve who should be Evangelists, and twelve who should be Pastors. A fourfold twelve He called that He might send them forth to the twelve tribes of Yisrayah, four to each.
5. They stood around the Master, clad in white linen raiment, called to be a sacred priesthood to Yahwah for the service of the twelve tribes they should be sent to.
6. These fourfold Twelve Yahushua sent forth and charged them, saying: I will that you be my Twelve Apostles with your companions, for a testimony to Yisrayah. Go into the cities of Yisrayah, and to the lost sheep of the House of Yisrayah. Preach as you go, saying: The kingdom of heaven is at hand. As I baptized you in water, so you baptize those who believe.
7. Anoint and heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, and cast out devils. Freely you received, freely give. Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass, in your purses. No script for your journey, nor two coats, nor shoes, nor yet staves, for the workman is worthy of his food. Eat what is set before you, but do not touch that which is gotten by taking of life, for it is not lawful to you.
8. Into whatsoever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and abide there till you go from there. When you come into a house, salute it. If the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it; but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
9. Be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. Be innocent, and undefiled. The Son of Man is not come to destroy, but to save; not to take life, but to give life to body and soul.
10. Do not fear those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in the Lake of Fire.
11. Are two sparrows not sold for a farthing? Not one of them will fall on the ground without permission of the All Sacred. Yea, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear, if Yahwah cares for the sparrow, He will care for you!
12. It is enough for disciples that they be as their master, and the servants as their lord. If they call the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more they will call those of his household? Do not fear them. There is nothing covered that will not be revealed; or hid, that will not be known.
13. What I tell you in darkness, speak in light when the time comes. What you hear in the ear, preach upon the housetops. Whosoever will confess the truth before men, them I will confess before my Parent who is in heaven. But whosoever will deny the truth before men, them I will also deny before my Parent who is in heaven.
14. Verily, I am come to send peace upon earth, but when I speak, behold, a sword follows. I am come to unite, but, behold, a man will be at variance with his father, the daughter with her mother, and the daughter-in-law with her mother-in-law. A man's foes will be those of his own household. For the unjust cannot mate with those who are just.
15. Those who do not take their stake and follow after me are not worthy of me. He that found his life will lose it; and he that loses his life for my sake will find it.
Chapter 18
The Sending Forth Of The Two and Seventy
1. After these things Yahushua appointed two and seventy also, and sent them two and two before His face into every city and place of the tribes where He Himself would come.
2. He said to them: The harvest is truly great, but the laborers are few. Pray to the Master of the harvest, that He would send forth laborers into the harvest.
3. Go your ways. Behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves. Carry neither purse, nor script, nor shoes, and salute no man by the way.
4. Into whatsoever house you enter, first say: Peace be to this house. If the spirit of peace is there your peace will rest upon it, if not it will turn to you again.
5. Into whatsoever city you enter, if they receive you, eat such things as are set before you without taking of life. Heal the sick that are there, and say to them: The kingdom of Yahwah is come near to you.
6. In the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give without shedding of blood, for the laborer is worthy of his hire. Do not go from house to house.
7. Into whatsoever city you enter, if they do not receive you, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say: Even the very dust of your city, which cleaves on us, we do wipe off against you. Notwithstanding, be you sure of this, the kingdom of Yahwah is come near to you.
8. Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! If the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they had repented a great while ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. It will be more tolerable for them in the judgment than for you.
9. Capernaum, who is exalted to heaven, will be thrust down to hell. Those who hear you, hear me also. Those who despise you, despise me also. Those who despise me, despise Him who sent me. But let all be persuaded in their own minds.
10. Yahushua said to them: Be merciful, so you will obtain mercy. Forgive others, so you will be forgiven. With what measure you mete, with the same it will be meted to you again.
11. As you do to others, so it will be done to you. As you give, so will it be given to you. As you judge others, so you will be judged. As you serve others, so you will be served.
12. Yahwah is just, and rewards everyone according to their works. That which they sow, they will also reap.
Chapter 19
Yahushua Teaches how to Pray
Error even in Prophets
1. Yahushua was praying in a certain place on a mountain. Some of His disciples came to Him, and one of them said: Master, teach us how to pray. Yahushua said to them: When you pray enter into your secret chamber, close the door, and pray to Abba Amma [Father Mother] who is above and within you. Your Father-Mother who sees all that is secret will answer you openly.
2. When you are gathered together, and pray in common, do not use vain repetitions, for your Heavenly Parent knows what things you have need of before you ask them. Pray after this manner:
3. Our Father-Mother who are above and within, hallowed be your Name in twofold Trinity. In Wisdom, Love, and Equity, your Kingdom come to all. Your will be done, as in Heaven, so in Earth. Give us day by day to partake of your sacred Bread, and the fruit of the living Vine. As you forgive us our trespasses, so we forgive others who trespass against us.
4. Show your goodness upon us, that to others we may show the same. In the hour of temptation, deliver us from evil.
5. Wheresoever there are seven gathered together in My Name, there I am in the midst of them. Yea, even if there is only three or two. And where there is but one who prays in secret, I am with that one.
6. Raise the stone, and there you will find me. Cleave the wood, and there am I. For in the fire, and in the water, even as in every living form, Yahwah is manifest as its Life and its Substance.
7. Yahushua said: If your brother sin in word seven times a day, and seven times a day makes amendment, receive him. Simon said to Him: Seven times a day?
8. Yahushua answered, and said to him: I tell you also, to seventy times seven, for utterance of sin was found even in the Prophets after they were anointed by the Spirits.
9. Be considerate, be tender, be pitiful, and be kind. Not to your own kind alone, but to every creature which is within your care, for you are to them as gods, to whom they look in their need. Be slow to anger, for many sin in anger which they repent of when their anger is past.
10. There was a man whose hand was withered, he came to Yahushua, and said: Master, I was a mason seeking sustenance by my hands. I beg you restore to me my health, that I not [have to] beg for food with shame. Yahushua healed him, saying: There is a house made without hands, seek, that you may dwell there.
Chapter 20
The Return of the Two and Seventy
1. After a season the two and seventy returned again with joy, saying: Master, even the demons are subject to us through your Name.
2. He said to them: I beheld Satan fall from heaven as lightning.
3. Behold, I give to you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will hurt you by any means. Notwithstanding in this, do not rejoice that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in Heaven.
4. In that hour Yahushua rejoiced in spirit, and said: I thank you, Sacred Parent of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and prudent, and revealed them to babes. Even so, All Sacred, for it seemed good in your sight.
5. All things are delivered to me of the All-Parent [Love and Wisdom]. No man knows the Son who is the Daughter [Yahu-Maria], but the All Parent. Nor who the All-Parent is, but the Son even the Daughter, and they to whom the Son and the Daughter will reveal it.
6. He turned Him to His disciples, and said privately: Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see. I tell you, many prophets and kings desired to see those things which you see, and did not see them. Or to hear those things you hear, and did not hear them.
7. Blessed are you of the inner circle who hear my word, to whom mysteries are revealed, who give to no innocent creature the pain of prison or of death, but seek the good of all, for to such is everlasting life.
8. Blessed are you who abstain from all things gotten by bloodshed and death, and fulfill all righteousness. Blessed are you, for you will attain to Beatitude.
Chapter 21
Yahushua Rebuks Cruelty to a Horse
Condemns the Service of Mammon
1. It came to pass Yahushua departed from the city, and went over the mountains with His disciples. They came to a mountain whose ways were steep, and they found a man there with a beast of burden.
2. The horse had fallen down, for it was over-loaded, and he struck it till the blood flowed. Yahushua went to him, and said: Son of cruelty, why do you strike your beast? Do you not see that it is too weak for its burden, and do you not know that it suffers?
3. The man answered and said: What have you to do with me? I may strike it as much as it pleases me, for it is my own, I bought it with a goodly sum of money. Ask those who are with you, they are of my acquaintance, they know.
4. Some of the disciples answered, and said: Yea, Master, it is as he said, we saw when he bought it. Yahushua said again: Do you see how it bleeds, and hear how it wails and laments? But they answered, and said: No, Master, we do not hear that it wails and laments?
5. Yahushua was sorrowful, and said: Woe to you because of the dullness of your hearts, you can not hear how it laments, and cries to the heavenly Creator for mercy. Thrice woe to him against whom it cries and wails in its pain.
6. He went forward, touched it, the horse stood up, and its wounds were healed. To the man he said: Go your way, and strike it no more if you also desire to find mercy.
7. Seeing the people come to Him, Yahushua said to His disciples: Because of the sick I am sick, because of the hungry I am hungry, because of the thirsty I am thirsty.
8. He said: I am come to end the sacrifices, and feasts of blood. If you do not cease offering and eating of flesh and blood, the wrath of Yahwah will not cease from you, even as it came to your fathers in the wilderness who lusted for flesh. They ate to their content, were filled with rottenness, and the plague consumed them.
9. I say to you, Though you be gathered together in my bosom, if you do not keep my commandments, I will cast you forth. If you do not keep the lesser mysteries, who will give you the greater.
10. He who is faithful in that which is least, is faithful also in much. He who is unjust in the least, is also unjust in much.
11. If you have not been faithful in the mammon of unrighteousness, who will commit to your trust the true riches? If you have not been faithful in that which is another man's, who will give you that which is your own?
12. No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve Yahwah and mammon [god of money]. The Pharisees, who were covetous, heard all these things, and they derided Him.
13. He said to them: You are those who justify yourselves before men, but Yahwah knows your hearts. That which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of Yahwah.
14. The law and the prophets were until Yahchanan. Since that time the kingdom of Yahwah is preached, and every man presses into it. It is easier for heaven and earth to pass away, than one tittle of the law to fail.
15. Some women came to Him, and brought their infants to Him, to whom they yet gave suck at their breasts, that He should bless them, and some said: Why do you trouble the master?
16. But Yahushua rebuked them, and said: Of such will come forth those who will yet confess me before men. He took them up in His arms, and blessed them.
Chapter 22
The Restoration Of Iairus' Daughter
1. Behold, there comes one of the rulers of the synagogue, Iairus by name. When he saw Him, he fell at His feet, and he begged Him greatly, saying: My little daughter lies at the point of death. I pray you, come, lay your hands on her, that she may be healed, and she will live. Yahushua went with him, and many people followed Him, and thronged Him.
2. A certain woman had an issue of blood twelve years, had suffered many things of many physicians, had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse.
3. When she heard of Yahushua, she came in the press behind, and touched His garments. For she said: If I may touch His garment, I will be whole. Right away the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body she was healed of that plague.
4. Knowing in Himself that virtue went out of Him, Yahushua immediately turned Him about in the press, and said: Who touched my vesture? His disciples said to Him: You see the multitude thronging you, and you say: Who touched me?
5. He looked round about to see her who did this thing. The woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came, fell down before Him, and told Him all the truth. He said to her: Daughter, your faith made you whole. Go in peace, be whole of your plague.
6. While He yet spoke, there came certain from the ruler of the synagogue's house, who said: Your daughter is dead, why do you trouble the Master any further?
7. As soon as Yahushua heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, Do not be afraid, only believe. He allowed no man to follow Him save Kepha, Yaaqob, and Yahchanan the brother of Yaaqob.
8. He came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, saw the tumult, the minstrels, and those who lamented and wailed greatly.
9. When He came in He said to them: Why do you make this ado, and weep? The damsel is not dead, but sleeps. They laughed Him to scorn, for they thought she was dead, and did not believe Him. He put them all out, took two of His disciples with Him, and entered in where the damsel was lying.
10. He took the damsel by the hand, and said to her: Talitha cumi. Which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say to you, Arise.
11. Right away the damsel arose, and walked. She was of the age of twelve years. They were astonished with a great astonishment.
12. He charged them straightly that no man should make it known, and commanded that something should be given to her to eat.
Chapter 23
Yahushua And The Samaritan Woman
1. Yahushua came to a city of Samaria, which is called Sychar, near to the parcel of ground that Yaacob [Jacob] gave to his son Yahusef [Joseph].
2. Yaacob's well was there. Being wearied with His journey, Yahushua sat alone on the edge of the well, and it was about the sixth hour.
3. A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Yahushua said to her: Give me to drink (His disciples were gone away to the city to buy food).
4. The woman of Samaria said to Him: How is it that you, being a Yahudi [Jew], asks drink of me, who am a woman of Samaria? (the Yahudim [Jews] have no dealings with the Samaritans.)
5. Yahushua answered, and said to her: If you knew the gift of Yahwah, and who it is that said to you: Give me drink, you would have asked of Yahwah, who would have given you living water.
6. The woman said to him: Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep, from where have you that living water? Are you greater than our father Yaacob, who gave us the well? He drank here himself, with his children, his camels, oxen, and sheep.
7. Yahushua answered, and said to her: Whosoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whosoever drinks of the water I give him will never thirst, the water I give him will be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
8. The woman said to Him: Sir, give me this water, that I not thirst, nor come here to draw. Yahushua said to her: Go, call your husband, and come here. The woman answered, and said: I have no husband.
9. Yahushua looked upon her, answered, and said to her: You have well said; I have no husband. For you have had five husbands, and he whom you have now is not called your husband, in that you said truly.
10. The woman said to Him: Sir, I perceive you are a prophet. Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, and you say in Yerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.
11. Yahushua said to her: Woman, believe me, the hour comes when you will not in this mountain nor yet at Yerusalem worship Yahwah. You worship you do not know what. We know what we worship, for salvation is of Yisrayah.
12. The hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the All-Parent in spirit, and in truth. The All-Sacred seeks such worshippers. Yahwah is a Spirit, and those who worship must worship in spirit, and in truth.
13. The woman said to Him: I know He comes who is called the Messiah. When He is come He will tell us all things. Yahushua said to her: I am He who speaks to you.
14. His disciples came upon this, and marveled that He talked with the woman, yet no man said: What do you seek? Or: Why do you talk with her?
15. The woman left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men: Come, see a man who told me all things that ever I did, is this not the Messiah?
16. They went out of the city, and came to Him. Many of the Samaritans believed on Him. They begged Him that He would tarry with them, and He abode there two days.
Chapter 24
Yahushua Denounces Cruelty
He Heals the Sick
1. As Yahushua passed through a certain village He saw a crowd of idlers of the baser sort, they were tormenting a cat they found, and treating it shamefully. Yahushua commanded them to desist, and began to reason with them, but they would have none of His words, and reviled Him.
2. He made a whip of knotted cords, and drove them away, saying: This earth which my Father-Mother made for joy and gladness, you made into the lowest hell with your deeds of violence and cruelty. They fled before His face.
3. One more vile than the rest returned, and defied Him. Yahushua put forth His hand, and the young man's arm withered. Great fear came upon all, and one said: He is a sorcerer.
4. The next day the mother of the young man came to Yahushua, praying He would restore the withered arm. Yahushua spoke to them of the law of love, and the unity of all life in the one family of Yahwah. He said: As you do in this life to your fellow creatures, so it will be done to you in the life to come.
5. The young man believed, and confessed His sins. Yahushua stretched forth His hand. His withered arm became whole even as the other, and the people glorified Yahwah who gave such power to man.
6. When Yahushua departed there, two blind men followed Him, crying and saying: You son of David, have mercy on us. When He came into the house the blind men came to Him, and Yahushua said to them: Do you believe I am able to do this?
7. They said to Him: Yea, Master. He touched their eyes, saying: According to your faith, be it to you. Their eyes were opened, and Yahushua straitly charged them, saying: See that you tell no man. But they, when they were departed, spread abroad His fame in all that country.
8. As they went forth, behold, they brought to Him a dumb man possessed with a demon. When the demon was cast out the dumb spoke, and the multitude marvelled, saying: It was never so seen in Yisrayah. The Pharisees said: He casts out demons through the prince of the demons.
9. Yahushua went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
10. When He saw the multitudes He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
11. He said to His disciples: The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few, pray to Yahwah of the harvest, that He will send forth laborers into His harvest.
12. His disciples brought Him two small baskets with bread and fruit, and a pitcher of water. Yahushua set the bread and the fruit before them, and also the water. They ate, drank, and were filled.
13. And they marvelled, for each had enough and to spare, and there were four thousand. They departed, blessing Yahwah for what they heard and saw.
Chapter 25
The Sermon On The Mount (Part I)
1. Yahushua saw the multitudes, and went up into a mountain. When He was seated, the twelve came to Him. He lifted up His eyes on His disciples, and said:
2. Blessed in spirit are the poor, for their's is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be filled.
3. Blessed are the merciful, for they will obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see Yahwah. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the children of Yahwah. Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for their's is the kingdom of Yahwah.
4. Yea, blessed are you when men hate you, when they separate you from their company, reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake. Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy. Behold, your reward is great in heaven, for in the like manner their fathers did to the prophets.
5. Woe to you who are rich! For you received your consolation in this life. Woe to you who are full! For you will hunger. Woe to you who laugh now! For you will mourn and weep. Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for so their fathers did to the false prophets.
6. You are the salt of the earth, for every sacrifice must be salted with salt. But if the salt has lost its savor, how will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trampled under foot.
7. You are the light of the world. A city that is built on a hill cannot be hid. Men do not light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, so it gives light to all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Parent who is in heaven.
8. Do not think I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. Verily I say to you: Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle will in no way pass from the law or the prophets till all is fulfilled. Behold, One greater than Moshe is here. He will give you the higher law, even the perfect Law, and you will obey this Law.
9. Whosoever breaks one of these commandments He gives, and teach men so, will be called the least in the kingdom; but whosoever will do and teach them, the same will be called great in the kingdom of Heaven.
10. Verily those who believe and obey will save their souls, and those who do not obey will lose them. I say to you, Except your righteousness exceeds the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of Heaven.
11. If you bring your gift to the altar, and remember your brother has anything against you, leave your gift before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come, offer your gift.
12. Agree with your adversary quickly, while you are in the way with him, unless at any time your adversary deliver you to the Judge, the judge deliver you to the officer, and you be cast into prison. Verily I say to you, You will by no means come out there till you have paid the uttermost farthing.
13. You heard it was said: You will love your neighbor, and hate your enemy. But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you.
14. Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who use you despitefully. You are the children of your Parent who makes the sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the Just and on the unjust.
15. If you love those who love you, what thank have you? For sinners also love those that love them. If you do good to those who do good to you, what thank have you? For sinners even do the same. If you salute your brothers only, what do you more than others? Do not even so the taxgatherers?
16. If a desire be to you as your life, and it turn you from the truth, cast it out from you, for it is better to enter life possessing truth, than losing it, to be cast into outer darkness.
17. If something seems desirable to you which costs another pain or sorrow, cast it out of your heart; so you will attain to peace. Better it is to endure sorrow, than to inflict it on those who are weaker.
18. Be you therefore perfect, even as your Parent who is in heaven is perfect.
Chapter 26
The Sermon On The Mount (Part II)
1. Take heed that you not do your alms before men, to be seen of them, otherwise you have no reward of your Parent who is in heaven. When you do your alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues, and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say to you, they have their reward.
2. When you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right hand does. Take heed that your alms are in secret, and the Secret One who sees in secret will approve then openly.
3. When you pray, do not be as the hypocrites are. They love to pray standing in the synagogues, and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say to you, They have their reward.
4. When you pray enter into your chamber, and when you shut your door, pray to your Father-Mother who is in secret, and the secret One that sees in secret will approve you openly.
5. When you pray in common, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do. They think they will be heard for their much speaking. Do not be like them, your heavenly Parent knows what things you have need of before you ask. After this manner pray, when you are gathered together:
6. Our Parent who are in heaven, Hallowed be your Name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us day by day our daily bread, and the fruit of the living Vine. As you forgive us our trespasses, so we forgive the trespasses of others. Leave us not in temptation. Deliver us from evil. Amein.
7. If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Parent will also forgive you. But if you not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Parent in heaven forgive you your trespasses.
8. Do not be of a sad countenance when you fast, as the hypocrites. They disfigure their faces, that they may appear to men to fast. Verily I say to you, they have their reward.
9. I say to you, Except you fast from the world and its evil ways, you will in no way find the Kingdom. Except you keep the Sabbath, and cease your haste to gather riches, you will not see the Father-Mother in heaven. When you fast, anoint your head, wash your face, that you not appear to men to fast, and the sacred One who sees in secret will approve you openly.
10. Likewise also do you, when you mourn for the dead and are sad, for your loss in their gain. Do not be as those who mourn before men, make loud lamentation, and tear their garments, that they may be seen of men to mourn. All souls are in the hands of Yahwah, those who did good rest with your ancestors in the bosom of the Eternal.
11. Pray rather for their rest and advancement, and not murmur as those without hope. Consider that they are in the land of rest, which the Eternal prepared for them, and have the just reward of their deeds.
12. Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. Lay up treasures in heaven for yourselves, where neither moth nor rust do corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
13. The lamps of the body are the eyes. If your sight is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are dim or lacking, your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
14. No man can serve two masters, either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve Yahwah and mammon.
15. I say to you, Do not be over anxious for your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will put on. Is the life not more than meat, and the body than clothes? What will it profit a man if he gain the whole world, and lose his life?
16. Behold the fowls of the air, they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Parent feeds them. Are you not much better cared for than they? Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature? Why spend all your thought for clothes? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, they do not toil, nor do they spin. And yet I say to you, Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
17. Will Yahwah, who clothes the grass of the field (which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven), clothe you, O you of little faith?
18. Do not be over-anxious, saying, What will we eat? Or, What will we drink? Or, How will we be clothed? (All which things the Gentiles seek.) Your heavenly Parent knows you need all these things. First seek the kingdom of Yahwah, and its righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Do not meet in advance the evils of tomorrow, there is enough evil for today.
Chapter 27
The Sermon On The Mount (Part III)
1. Judge not, that you are not judged. With what judgment you judge, you will be judged. With what measure you mete, it will be measured to you again. As you do to others, so will it be done to you.
2. Why do you behold the mote that is in your brother's eye, but not consider the beam that is in your own eye? How will you say to your brother: Let me pull the mote out of your eye; when behold, a beam is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first cast the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to cast the mote out of your brother's eye.
3. Do not give that which is sacred to the dogs, nor cast your pearls before swine. They will trample them under their feet, turn again, and tear you.
4. Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you. Everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds, and to those who knock it will be opened.
5. What man is there of you who, if his child ask bread, will give it a stone? Or, if it ask a fish, will give it a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Parent who is in heaven give good things to those who ask?
6. Therefore all things whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do you even so to them. And what you would that men should not do to you, do not to them, for this is the Law and the prophets.
7. Enter in at the straight gate, for straight is the way, and narrow the gate, that leads to life, and few there are who find it. Wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there are who go in there.
8. Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravening wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
9. Even so, every good tree brings forth good fruit, but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit. Every tree that does not bring forth good fruit is only fit to be cut down, and cast into the fire. You will know the good from the evil by their fruits.
10. Not every one who says to me: Lord, Lord; will enter into the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father-Mother who is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your Name? And in your Name cast out devils? And in your Name do many wonderful works? I will say to them: I never knew you, depart from me, you who work iniquity.
11. Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house foursquare upon a rock. The rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew upon that house. It did not fall, for it was founded upon a rock.
12. Everyone who hears these sayings of mine, and not do them, will be likened to a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand. The rain descended, the floods came, the winds blew, and beat upon that house. It fell, and great was the fall of it. A city which is built foursquare, enclosed in a circle, or on the top of a hill, and established on a rock, can not fall nor be hidden.
13. It came to pass when Yahushua ended these sayings, the people were astonished at His doctrine. He taught them as one appealing to the reason and the heart, not as the scribes who rather taught by authority.
Chapter 28
Yahushua Releases The Rabbits And Pigeons
1. It came to pass one day as Yahushua finished His discourse, in a place near Tiberias where there are seven wells, a certain young man brought live rabbits and pigeons, that he might have to eat with his disciples.
2. Yahushua looked on the young man with love, and said to him: You have a good heart, and Yahwah will give you light. But do you not know that in the beginning Yahwah gave to man the fruits of the earth for food, and did not make him lower than the ox, or the horse, or the sheep, that he should kill and eat the flesh and blood of his fellow creatures?
3. You believe Moshe commanded such creatures to be killed, offered in sacrifice, and eaten, and so you do in the Temple. Behold, a greater than Moshe is here. He comes to put away the bloody sacrifices of the law, and the feasts on them; and to restore to you the pure oblation and unbloody sacrifice as in the beginning, even the grains and fruits of the earth.
4. Of that which you offer to Yahwah in purity you will eat, but of that kind which you do not offer in purity you will not eat. The hour comes when your sacrifices and feasts of blood will cease. You will worship Yahwah with a sacred worship, a pure Oblation.
5. Let these creatures go free, that they may rejoice in Yahwah, and bring no guilt to man. The young man set them free. Yahushua broke their cages, and their bonds.
6. Lo, they feared they should be taken captive again, and they did not go away from Him. He spoke to them, dismissed them, they obeyed His word, and departed in gladness.
7. At that time as they sat by the well, which was in the midst of the six, Yahushua stood up, and cried out: If any are thirsty, let them come to me, and drink, for I will give to them of the waters of life.
8. Those who believe in me, out of their hearts will flow rivers of water. That which is given to them they will speak with power, and their doctrine will be as living water.
9. (This He spoke of the Spirit, which those who believed on Him should receive, for the fullness of the Spirit was not yet given because Yahushua was not yet glorified.)
10. Whosoever drinks of the water I give will never thirst, the water which comes from Yahwah will be in them a well of water, springing up to everlasting life.
11. At that time Yahchanan sent two of his disciples, saying: Are you He that should come [Deuteronomy 18:15-19, Daniel 9:25], or do we look for another? In that same hour He cured many of their infirmities, plagues, and evil spirits, and He gave sight to many blind.
12. Yahushua answering, said to them: Go your way, tell Yahchanan what things you saw and heard. The blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the gospel is preached to the poor [Isaiah 35:4-6]. Blessed is he, whosoever will not be offended in me.
13. When the messengers of Yahchanan were departed, He began to speak to the people concerning Yahchanan: What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind, or a man clothed in soft clothes? Behold, those who are georgeously apparelled, and live delicately, are in kings' courts.
14. But what did you go out to see? A prophet. Yea, I say to you, the greatest of prophets.
15. This is he of whom it is written: Behold, I send my messenger before your face, who will prepare your Way before you. I say to you, Among those born of women, there is not a greater prophet than Yahchanan the Immerser.
16. All the people who heard Him, and the taxgatherers, justified Yahwah, being baptized with the baptism of Yahchanan. But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the counsel of Yahwah against themselves, not being baptized of him.
Chapter 29
The Feeding of the Five Thousand With Six Loaves and Seven Clusters Of Grapes
Healing Of The Sick
1. The Feast of the Passover drew near. The Apostles and their fellows gathered themselves together to Yahushua, and told Him all things, both what they did, and what they taught. He said to them: Come apart into a desert place, rest a while (for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure to so much as eat).
2. They departed privately by ship into a desert place. The people saw them departing. Many knew Him, ran afoot there out of all cities, outwent them, and came together to Him.
3. When He came forth, Yahushua saw many people, and was moved with compassion towards them, because they were as sheep having no shepherd.
4. The day was far spent. His disciples came to Him, and said: This is a desert place, and now the time is far passed. Send them away, that they may go into the country round about, into the villages, and buy themselves bread, for they have nothing to eat.
5. He answered, and said to them: You give them to eat. And they say to Him: Shall we go and buy two hundred pennyworth of bread, and give them to eat?
6. He said to them: How many loaves have you? Go and see. And when they knew, they said: Six loaves, and seven clusters of grapes. He commanded them to make all sit down by companies of fifty upon the grass. And they sat down in ranks by hundreds, and by fifties.
7. He took the six loaves, and the seven clusters of grapes. He looked up to heaven, blessed, broke the loaves, the grapes also, gave them to His disciples to set before them, and they divided them among them all.
8. They all ate, and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that were left. Those who ate of the loaves and of the fruit were about five thousand men, women, and children, and He taught them many things.
9. When the people saw and heard, they were filled with gladness, and said: Truly this is that Prophet that should come into the world [Deuteronomy 18:15-19, Daniel 9:25]. When He perceived they would take Him by force to make Him a king, He straightaway constrained His disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before Him to Bethsaida, while He sent away the people.
10. He sent them away, and He departed into a mountain to pray. When evening was come, He was there alone. The ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves, for the wind was contrary.
11. Yahushua went to them the third watch of the night, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying: It is a spirit. They cried out for fear. But Yahushua spoke to them, saying: Be of good cheer, it is I, do not be afraid.
12. Kepha answered Him, and said: Master, if it is you, bid me come to you on the water. He said: Come. Kepha came down out of the ship, and walked on the water, to go to Yahushua. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried, saying: Master, save me.
13. Immediately Yahushua stretched forth His hand, caught him, and said to him: O you of little faith, why did you doubt? Did I not call you?
14. He went up to them into the ship. The wind ceased, they were very amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered. They did not consider the miracle of the loaves and the fruit, for their heart was hardened.
15. When they were come into the ship there was a great calm. Those who were in the ship came, and worshipped Him, saying: Of a truth you are the Son of Yahwah.
16. When they passed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret, and drew to the shore. When they were come out of the ship straightaway they knew Him. They ran through that whole region round about, and began to carry about in beds those who were sick, where they heard He was.
17. Where ever He entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, begged Him that they might touch if it were but the border of His garment, and as many as touched Him were made whole.
18. After these things Yahushua came with His disciples into Yahudah. He tarried there, and baptized many who came to Him to receive His doctrine.
Chapter 30
The Bread Of Life And The Living Vine
1. The following day, the people who stood on the other side of the sea saw there was no other boat there, save the one which His disciples entered, and that Yahushua did not go into the boat with His disciples, but His disciples were gone alone. When the people saw Yahushua was not there, nor His disciples, they also took ship and came to Capernaum, seeking for Yahushua.
2. When they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him: Rabbi, how did you come here? Yahushua answered them and said: Verily, verily, I say to you, you seek me, not because you saw the miracles, but because you ate of the loaves and the fruit, and were filled. Do not labor for the meat which perishes, but for that meat which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man, who is also the Child of Yahwah, gives to you, for Yahwah the All Parent sealed Him.
3. They said to Him: What will we do that we may work the works of Yahwah? Yahushua answered, and said to them: This is the work of Yahwah, that you believe the truth, in me who am, and who gives to you, the Truth and the Life.
4. They said to Him: What sign do you show, that we may see, and believe you? What do you work? Our fathers ate manna in the desert, as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat.
5. Yahushua said to them: Verily, verily, I say to you, Moshe did not give you the true bread from heaven, but my Parent gives you the true bread from heaven, the fruit of the living vine. The food of Yahwah is that which comes down from heaven, and gives life to the world.
6. They said to him: Master, evermore give us this bread, and this fruit. Yahushua said to them: I am the true Bread, I am the living Vine. Those who come to me will never hunger, and those who believe on me will never thirst. Verily I say to you, Except you eat the flesh and drink the blood of Yahwah, you have no life in you. But you see me and not believe.
7. All my Parent gives to me will come to me, and those who come to me I will in no way cast out. I came down from heaven not to do my own will, but the will of Yahwah who sent me. And this is the will of Yahwah who sent me: Of all who are given to me I should lose none, but should raise them up again at the last day.
8. The Yahudim murmured at Him, because He said: I am the bread who comes down from heaven. They said: Is this not Yahushua, the son of Yahusef and Miriam, whose parentage we know? How is it then that He said: I came down from heaven?
9. Yahushua answered, and said to them: Do not murmur among yourselves. None can come to me except sacred Love [Father] and [Mother] Wisdom draw them, and these will rise at the last day. It is written in the prophets: They will all be taught of Yahwah. Every man who heard, and learned of the Truth, comes to me.
10. Not that anyone has seen the Most High at any time, save those who are of the Most High, they alone see the Most High. Verily, verily, I say to you, those who believe the Truth have everlasting life.
Chapter 31
The Bread of Life And The Living Vine
Yahushua Rebukes The Thoughtless Driver
1. Yahushua said: I am the true Bread, and the living Vine. Your fathers ate manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the food of Yahwah which comes down from heaven, that whosoever eats it will not die. I am the living food which came down from heaven, if any eat of this food they will live forever. The bread I give is My truth, and the wine I give is my life.
2. The Yahudim strove amongst themselves, saying: How can this man give us Himself for food? Yahushua said: Do you think that I speak of the eating of flesh, which you ignorantly do in the Temple of Yahwah?
3. Verily my body is the substance of Yahwah, and this is meat indeed. My blood is the life of Yahwah, and this is drink indeed. Not as your ancestors who craved for flesh, and Yahwah gave them flesh in His wrath. They ate of corruption till it stank in their nostrils, and their carcases fell by the thousand in the wilderness by reason of the plague.
4. Of such it is written: They will wander nine and forty years in the wilderness till they are purified from their lusts, before they enter into the land of rest. Yea, seven times seven years they will wander because they did not know My ways, nor obey My laws.
5. Those who eat this flesh and drink this blood dwell in me, and I in them. As the Father-Mother of life sent me, and by whom I live, so those who eat of me who am the truth and the life, even they will live by me.
6. This is that living bread which coming down from heaven gives life to the world. Not as your ancestors ate manna, and are dead. Those who eat of this bread, and this fruit, will live forever. These things He said in the synagogue, as He taught in Capernaum. Many of His disciples, when they heard this, said: This is a hard saying, who can receive it?
7. Yahushua knew in Himself that His disciples murmured at it. He said to them: Does this offend you? What and if you see the Son and Daughter of man ascend to where they were before? It is the spirit that quickens, the flesh and blood profits nothing. The words I speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life.
8. There are some of you who do not believe. Yahushua knew from the beginning who they were who would not believe, and who would betray Him. He said to them: No one can come to me, except it were given from above.
9. From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked with Him no longer. Yahushua said to the twelve: Will you also go away?
10. Simon Kepha answered Him: Master, where will we go? You have the words of eternal life. We believe, and we are sure you are the Messiah, Son of the living Yahwah.
11. Yahushua answered them: Have I not chosen you Twelve, and one is a traitor? He spoke of Judas Iscariot, son of Simon the Levite, for it was he who would betray Him.
12. Yahushua was travelling to Yerusalem, and there came a camel heavy laden with wood. The camel could not drag it up the hill where he went because it was too heavy. The driver beat him and cruelly ill-treated him, but he could make him go no further.
13. Seeing this, Yahushua said to him: Why do you beat your brother? The man answered: I did not know he is my brother, is he not a beast of burden, made to serve me?
14. Yahushua said: Did Yahwah not make of the same substance the camel, and your children who serve you? Have you not one breath of life, which you both received from Yahwah?
15. The man marvelled much at this saying. He ceased from beating the camel, and took off some of the burden. The camel walked up the hill as Yahushua went before him, and did not stop till he ended his journey.
16. The camel knew Yahushua, having felt the love of Yahwah in Him. The man inquired further of the doctrine. Yahushua taught him gladly, and he became His disciple.
Chapter 32
Yahwah the Food and Drink of All
1. It came to pass, as He sat at supper with His disciples one of them said to Him: Master, how do you say you will give your flesh to eat, and your blood to drink, for it is a hard saying to many?
2. Yahushua answered, and said: The words I spoke to you are Spirit, and they are Life. To the ignorant and the carnally minded they savor of bloodshed and death, but blessed are those who understand.
3. Behold, the corn grows up into ripeness, is cut down, ground in the mill, and baked with fire into bread! Of this bread my body is made, which you see. Lo, the grapes grow on the vine to ripeness, are plucked, crushed in the winepress, and yield the fruit of the vine! Of this fruit of the vine and of water my blood is made.
4. Of the fruits of the trees and the seeds of the herbs alone do I eat, and these are changed by the Spirit into my flesh and my blood. Of these alone and their like you who believe in me will eat. Of these, in the Spirit come life, health, and healing to man.
5. Verily my Presence will be with you in the Substance and Life of Yahwah, manifested in this body, and this blood. Of these you who believe in me will all eat and drink.
6. In all places I will be lifted up for the life of the world, as it is written in the prophets: From the rising up of the sun to the going down of the same, in every place a pure oblation with incense will be offered to my Name.
7. As in the natural so in the spiritual. My doctrine and my life will be meat and drink to you, the Bread of Life, and the Wine of Salvation.
8. As the corn and the grapes are transmuted into flesh and blood, so must your natural minds be changed into spiritual. Seek the Transmutation of the natural into the Spiritual.
9. Verily I say to you, in the beginning all creatures of Yahwah found their sustenance in the herbs and the fruits of the earth alone, till the ignorance and the selfishness of man turned many of them from the use Yahwah gave them to that which was contrary to their original use. But even these will yet return to their natural food, as it is written in the prophets (and their words will not fail).
10. Verily Yahwah ever gives of the Eternal Life and Substance to renew the forms of the universe [negative entropy]. It is therefore of the flesh and blood, even the Substance and Life of the Eternal, that you are partakers to life. My words are spirit and they are life.
11. If you keep My commandments and live the life of the righteous, happy you will be in this life, and in that which is to come. Do not marvel that I said to you, Except you eat of the flesh and drink the blood of Yahwah, you have no life in you.
12. The disciples answered, saying: Master, evermore give us to eat of this bread, and to drink of this cup, for your words are meat and drink indeed. By your Life and by your Substance may we live forever.
Chapter 33
By The Shedding Of The Blood Of Others Is No Remission Of Sins
1. Yahushua was teaching His disciples in the outer court of the Temple, and one of them said to Him: Master, it is said by the priests that without shedding of blood there is no remission [of sin]. Can the blood offering of the law take away sin?
2. Yahushua answered: No blood offering (of beast, or bird, or man) can take away sin. How can the conscience be purged from sin by the shedding of innocent blood? No, it will increase the condemnation.
3. The priests indeed receive such offering as a reconciliation of the worshippers for the trespasses against the law of Moshe, but for sins against the Law of Yahwah there can be no remission, except by repentance and amendment.
4. Is it not written in the prophets: Put your blood sacrifices to your burnt offerings, and away with them. Cease from the eating of flesh! I did not speak to your fathers, nor command them, when I brought them out of Egypt, concerning these things. This thing I commanded, saying:
5. Obey my voice, walk in the ways I command you, so you will be my people, and it will be well with you. But they did not hearken, nor incline their ear.
6. What does the Eternal command you but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with Yahwah? Is it not written that in the beginning Yahwah ordained the fruits of the trees and the seeds and the herbs to be food for all flesh?
7. They made the House of Prayer a den of thieves. And for the pure Oblation with Incense, they polluted my altars with blood, and ate of the flesh of the dead.
8. I say to you, Shed no innocent blood, nor eat flesh. Walk uprightly, love mercy, do justly, and your days will be long in the land.
9. The corn that grows from the earth, with the other grain, is it not transmuted by the Spirit into my flesh? The grapes of the vineyard, with the other fruits, are they not transmuted by the Spirit into my blood? Let these, with your bodies and souls, be your Memorial to the Eternal.
10. In these the presence of Yahwah is manifest as the Substance, and as the Life of the world. Of these you will eat and drink for the remission of sins, and for eternal life, to all who obey my words.
11. There is at Yerusalem a pool having five porches, which is called Bethesda, by the sheep market. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk (of blind, halt, withered) waiting for the moving of the waters.
12. At a certain season a malak went down into the pool, and troubled the waters. Whosoever went into the waters first was made whole of whatever disease he had. A man impotent from his birth was there.
13. Yahushua said to him: Do the waters not bring healing? He said to Him: Yea, Master, but I have no man to put me in when the water is troubled. While I am trying to come another steps down before me. Yahushua said to him: Arise, take up your bed, and walk. Immediately he rose, and walked. On the same day was the Sabbath.
14. The Yahudim said to him: It is the Sabbath, it is not lawful for you to carry your bed. He who was healed did not know it was Yahushua. Yahushua had conveyed Himself away, a multitude being in that place.
Chapter 34
Love of Yahushua for All Creatures.
1. Yahushua knew the Pharisees murmured and complained because He made and baptized more disciples than Yahchanan. He left Yahudah, and departed to Galilee.
2. Yahushua came to a certain Tree, and abode beneath it many days. Miriam Magdalene and other women came and ministered to Him of their substance, and He taught daily all who came to Him.
3. The birds gathered around Him, and welcomed Him with their song. Other living creatures came to His feet. He fed them, and they ate out of His hands.
4. When He departed He blessed the women who showed love to Him. Turning to the fig tree, He blessed it also, saying: You gave me shelter and shade from the burning heat, and you gave me food also.
5. Blessed are you, increase, be fruitful, let all who come to you find rest, shade, and food, and let the birds of the air rejoice in your branches.
6. Behold the tree grew and flourished exceedingly. Its branches took root downward, and sent shoots upward. It spread mightily, so that no tree was like to it for its size and beauty, and the abundance and goodness of its fruit.
7. As Yahushua entered into a certain village, He saw a young cat who had none to care for her. She was hungry, and cried to Him. He took her up, put her inside His garment, and she lay in His bosom.
8. He came into the village. He set food and drink before the cat. She ate, drank, and showed thanks to Him. He gave her to one of His disciples, who was a widow, whose name was Lorenza, and she took care of her.
9. Some of the people said: This man cares for all creatures, are they His brothers and sisters that He should love them? He said to them: Verily, these are your fellow creatures of the great Household of Yahwah. Yea, they are your brothers and sisters, having the same breath of life in the Eternal.
10. Whosoever cares for one of the least of these, and gives it to eat and drink in its need, the same does it to me. Whoever willingly allows one of these to be in want, and not defend it when evilly treated, allows the evil as done to me. As you did in this life, so it will be done to you in the life to come.
Chapter 35
The Good Law
Miriam And Martha
1. Behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tempted Him, saying: Master, what will I do to gain eternal life? He said to him: What is written in the law? How do you read it?
2. Answering, he said: You will not do to others as you would not that they should do to you. You will love Yahwah with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. You will do to others as you would that they should do to you.
3. He said to him: You answered right, this do, and you will live. On these three commandments hang all the law and the prophets, for who loves Yahwah, loves his Neighbor also.
4. Willing to justify himself, he said to Yahushua: And who is my neighbor? Yahushua answering said: A certain man went down from Yerusalem to Yericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothes, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
5. By chance there came down a certain priest that way, and when he saw him he passed by on the one side. Likewise a Levite also came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
6. A certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was, and when he saw him he had compassion on him. He went to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, set him on his own beast, brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
7. When he departed the next day he took out two pence, gave them to the host, and said: Take care of him, and whatsoever you spend more, when I come again, I will repay you.
8. Which now of these three, do you think, was neighbor to him who fell among thieves? And he said: He who showed mercy on him. Yahushua said to him: Go, and do likewise.
9. It came to pass as they went, He entered into a certain village. A woman named Martha received Him into her house. She had a sister called Miriam, who sat at Yahushua's feet, and heard His word.
10. Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to Him, saying, Master: Do you not care that my sister left me to serve alone? Bid her that she may help me.
11. Yahushua answered, and said to her: Martha, Martha, you are careful, and troubled about many things. But one thing is needful, and Miriam chose that good part, which will not be taken away from her.
12. Yahushua sat at supper with His disciples in a certain city. He said to them: As a Table set upon twelve pillars, so am I in the midst of you.
13. Verily I say to you: Wisdom builds her house, and hews out her twelve pillars. She prepares her bread, her oil, and mingles her wine. She furnishes her table.
14. She stands upon the high places of the city, and cries to the sons and the daughters of men! Whosoever will, let them turn in here, let them eat of my bread, take of my oil, and drink of my wine.
15. Forget the foolish. Live, and go in the way of understanding. The veneration of Yahwah is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the sacred One is understanding. By me your days will be multiplied, and the years of your life He will increase.
Chapter 36
The Woman Taken In Adultery
1. On a certain day, early in the morning, Yahushua came again into the temple. All the people came to Him. He sat down, and taught them.
2. The scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman taken in adultery [where's the man?]. When they set her in the midst, they said to Him: Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. In the law Moshe commanded us that such should be stoned, but what do you say?
3. This they said, tempting Him, that they might have to accuse Him. Yahushua stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground, as though He did not hear them.
4. So they continued asking Him. He lifted Himself up, and said to them: He who is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.
5. Again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground. Those who heard it were convicted by their own conscience, and went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even to the last. Yahushua was left alone, and the woman standing in the middle.
6. Yahushua lifted Himself up, and saw none but the woman. He said to her: Woman, where are those of your accusers? Has no man condemned you? She said to Him: No man, Master. Yahushua said to her: Neither do I condemn you. From now on sin no more! Go in peace.
7. He spoke this parable to certain who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the Temple to pray, the one a rich Pharisee, learned in the law, and the other a taxgatherer, who was a sinner.
8. The Pharisee stood, and prayed thus with himself: Yahwah, I thank you that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this taxgatherer. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all I possess.
9. The taxgatherer, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying: Yahwah be merciful to me a sinner.
10. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other. Everyone who exalts himself will be abased, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.
Chapter 37
The Re-generation Of The Soul
1. Yahushua sat in the porch of the Temple, and some came to learn His doctrine. One said to Him: Master, what do you teach concerning life?
2. He said to them: Blessed are those who suffer many experiences, for they will be made perfect through suffering. They will be as the malaks of Yahwah in Heaven, and will die no more. Nor will they be born any more, for death and birth have no more dominion over them.
3. Those who suffer and overcome will be made Pillars in the Temple of Yahwah, and they will go out no more. Verily I say to you, Except you are born again of water and of FIRE, you cannot see the kingdom of Yahwah.
4. A certain Rabbi (Nicodemus) came to Him by night (for fear of the Yahudim), and said to Him: How can a man be born again when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born again?
5. Yahushua answered: Verily I say to you, Except a man be born again of flesh and of spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of Yahwah. The wind blows where it will, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes or where it goes.
6. The [morning] light shines from the East even to the West. Out of the darkness, the Sun arises, and goes down into darkness again. So is it with man, from the ages to the ages.
7. When it comes from the darkness, it is that he lived before, and when it goes down again into darkness, it is that he may rest for a little, and thereafter exist again.
8. Through many changes you must be made perfect, as it is written in the book of Yahb [Job]. I am a wanderer, changing place after place, house after house, until I come to the City and Mansion which is eternal.
9. Nicodemus said to Him: How can these things be? Yahushua answered, and said to him: Are you a teacher in Yisrayah, and do not understand these things? Verily we speak what we do know, and bear witness to what we saw, and you do not receive our witness.
10. If I told you of earthly things, and you not believe, how will you believe if I tell you of Heavenly things? No man has ascended into Heaven, but He who descended out of Heaven, even the Son-Daughter of man who is in Heaven.
Chapter 38
Yahushua Condemns the Ill-Treatment Of Animals
1. Some of His disciples came, and told Him of a certain Egyptian, a son of Belial, who taught that it is lawful to torment animals if their sufferings brought any profit to men.
2. Yahushua said to them: Verily I say to you, Those who partake of benefits which are gotten by wronging one of Yahwah's creatures cannot be righteous. Those whose hands are stained with blood, or whose mouths are defiled with flesh, can not touch sacred things, or teach the mysteries of the kingdom.
3. Yahwah gives the grains and the fruits of the earth for food, and for righteous man truly there is no other lawful sustenance for the body.
4. The robber who breaks into the house made by man is guilty, but those who break into the house made by Yahwah, even of the least of these are the greater sinners. I say to all who desire to be my disciples, keep your hands from bloodshed, and let no flesh meat enter your mouths, for Yahwah is just and bountiful, who ordains that man will live by the fruits and seeds of the earth alone.
5. But if any animal suffer greatly, and if its life is a misery to it, or if it is dangerous to you, release it from its life quickly, with as little pain as you can. Send it forth in love and mercy, do not torment it, and Yahwah the Father-Mother will show mercy to you, as you show mercy to those given into your hands.
6. Whatsoever you do to the least of these my children, you do it to me. I am in them, and they are in me. Yea, I am in all creatures, and all creatures are in me. In all their joys I rejoice, in all their afflictions I am afflicted. So I say to you, Be kind one to another, and to all the creatures of Yahwah.
7. It came to pass the day after, He came into a city called Nain. Many of His disciples went with Him, and many people.
8. When He came near to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her.
9. When Yahushua saw her, He had compassion on her, and said to her: Do not weep, your son sleeps. He came, touched the bier, and those who bore him stood still. He said: Young man, I say to you, Arise.
10. He who was thought to be dead sat up, and began to speak. He delivered him to his mother. There came an awe upon all. They glorified Yahwah, saying: A great prophet is risen up among us, and Yahwah has visited His people.
Chapter 39
Seven Parables of the The Kingdom of Heaven
1. Yahushua was sitting under the Fig tree, His disciples gathered round Him. A multitude of people came round them to hear Him. He said to them: What will I liken the Kingdom of Heaven to?
2. He spoke this parable, saying: The kingdom of Heaven is like to a certain seed, small among seeds, which a man takes and sows in his field. When it is grown it becomes a great tree which sends forth its branches all around, which again, shooting downward into the earth take root and grow upward, till the field is covered by the tree. The birds of the air come, lodge in the branches, and the creatures of the earth find shelter beneath it.
3. He put forth another parable to them, saying: The kingdom of Heaven is like to a great treasure hid in a field. When a man found it, he hides it, and for joy goes, sells all that he has, and buys that field, knowing how great the wealth will be from it.
4. The kingdom of Heaven is like to one pearl of great price, which is found by a merchant seeking goodly pearls. Finding it, the merchant sells all he has, and buys it, knowing how many more times it is worth than that which he gave for it.
5. The Kingdom of Heaven is like to a woman who takes of the incorruptible leaven, and hides it in three measures of meal, till the whole is leavened, and being baked by fire, becomes one loaf. Or to one who takes a measure of pure wine, and pours it into two or four measures of water, till the whole being mingled becomes the fruit of the vine.
6. The Kingdom of Heaven is like to a City built foursquare on the top of a high hill, established on a rock, strong in its surrounding wall, and its towers and gates, which lie to the north, to the south, to the east, and to the west. Such a city does not fall, nor can it be hidden, and its gates are open to all, who, having the keys, will enter.
7. He spoke another parable, saying: The Kingdom of Heaven is like to good seed that a man sowed in his field. While men slept in the night, his enemy came, sowed weeds among the wheat, and went his way. When the blade sprung up and brought forth fruit in the ear, there also appeared the weeds.
8. The servants of the householder came to him, and said: Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field, why then does it have weeds? He said to them: An enemy did this.
9. The servants said to him: Will you then that we go and gather them up? But he said: No, unless haply while you gather up the weeds, you root up the good wheat with them.
10. Let both grow together until the harvest, and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers: Gather up the weeds first, bind them in bundles to burn them and enrich the soil, but gather the wheat into my barn.
11. Again He spoke, saying: The kingdom of Heaven is like to the sowing of seed. Behold a sower went forth to sow. As he sowed, some seeds fell by the wayside, and the fowls of the air came and devoured them.
12. Others fell upon rocky places without much earth. Right away they sprang up because they had no deepness of earth. They were scorched when the sun was risen, and because they had no root they withered away.
13. Others fell among thorns. The thorns grew up, and choked them. Others fell upon good ground, ready prepared, and yielded fruit, some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Those who have ears to hear, let them hear.
Chapter 40
Yahushua Expounds His Inner Teaching To The Twelve
1. The disciples came and said to Him: Why do you speak to the multitude in parables? He answered, and said to them: It is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of Heaven, but to them it is not given.
2. Whosoever has, to him will be given, and he will have more abundance. Whosoever has not, from him will be taken away even that which he seems to have.
3. Therefore I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.
4. For in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Yeshayah, who said: Hearing you will hear, and will not understand. Seeing you will see, and will not perceive. This people's heart is waxed gross, their ears are dull of hearing, they have closed their eyes unless at any time they should see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, be converted, and I should heal them [Isaiah 6:10].
5. Blessed are your eyes for they see, your ears for they hear, and your hearts for they understand. Verily I say to you, Many prophets and righteous men desired to see those things which you see, and did not see them, to hear those things which you hear, and could not hear them.
6. Yahushua sent the multitude away. His disciples came to Him, saying: Declare to us the parable of the field. He answered and said to them: He who sows the good seed is the Son of man, the field is the world, the good seed are the children of the kingdom, but the weeds are the children of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the world, and the reapers are the malaks.
7. As the weeds are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be in the end of this world. The Son of man will send forth His malaks. They will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who do iniquity, and cast them into a furnace of fire. Those who will not be purified will be utterly consumed. Then the righteous will shine forth as the Sun in the kingdom of Heaven.
8. Hear also the parable of the sower. The seed that fell by the wayside is like as when any hear the Word of the kingdom, and not understand it, then the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in their heart. These are those who received seed by the wayside.
9. Those who received the seed into stony places, the same are those who hear the Word and receive it with joy. They do not have root in themselves, but endure only a while. When tribulation or persecution arises because of the Word, they are offended by and by.
10. Those who received seed among the thorns are those who hear the Word, but the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the Word, and they become unfruitful.
11. Those who receive the seed into the good ground, are those who hear the Word and understand it, who also bear fruit and bring forth, some thirty, some sixty, some a hundred-fold.
12. These things I declare to you of the inner circle, but to those of the outer in parables. Let those hear who have ears to hear.
Chapter 41
Yahushua Sets Free the Caged Birds
The Blind Man who denied that others saw
1. As Yahushua was going to Yericho there met Him a man with a cage full of birds which he had caught, and some young doves. He saw how they were in misery, having lost their liberty, moreover being tormented with hunger and thirst.
2. He said to the man: What do you with these? And the man answered: I go to make my living by selling these birds which I took.
3. Yahushua said: What do you think? If another, stronger than you or with greater craft, were to catch you (or your wife, or your children), bind you, and cast you into a prison, in order to sell you into captivity for his own profit, to make a living.
4. Are these not your fellow creatures, only weaker than you? Does the same Yahwah our Father-Mother not care for them as for you? Let these your little brothers and sisters go forth into freedom, and see that you do this thing no longer, but provide honestly for your living.
5. The man marvelled at these words, and at His authority, and he let the birds go free. When the birds came forth they flew to Yahushua, stood on His shoulder, and sang to Him.
6. The man inquired further of His doctrine, and he went his way. He learned the craft of making baskets, and by this craft he earned his bread. Afterwards he broke his cages and his traps, and became a disciple of Yahushua.
7. Yahushua beheld a man working on the Sabbath, and He said to him: Man, if you do not know the law in the spirit; but if you do not know, you are accursed, a transgressor of the law.
8. Yahushua said to His disciples: What will be done to these servants who, knowing their Master's will, do not prepare themselves for His coming, nor do according to His will?
9. Verily I say to you, Those who know their Master's will, and not do it, will be beaten with many stripes. But those who do not do it, not knowing their Master's will, will be beaten with few stripes. To whoever much is given, of them much is required. To whom little is given, from them but little is required.
10. There was a certain man who was blind from his birth. He denied that there were such things as Sun, Moon, and Stars, or that color existed. They tried in vain to persuade him that other people saw them. They led him to Yahushua. He anointed his eyes, and made him see.
11. He greatly rejoiced with wonder and fear, and confessed that he was blind before. And now after this, he said: I see all, I know everything, I am a god.
12. Yahushua said to him: How can you know all? You can not see through the walls of your house, nor read the thoughts of your fellow men, nor understand the language of birds, or of beasts. You can not even recall the events of your life: conception and birth.
13. Remember with humility how much remains unknown to you, yea, unseen, and doing so, you may see more clearly.
Chapter 42
Yahushua Teaches Concerning Marriage
The Blessing of Children
1. It came to pass when Yahushua finished these sayings, He departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Yahudah beyond Yordan. Great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them there.
2. The Pharisees also came to Him, tempting Him, and saying to Him: Is it lawful for a man to put away a wife for every reason?
3. He answered, and said to them: In some nations, one man has many wives, and puts away whom he will for a just cause. In some, a woman has many husbands, and puts away whom she will for a just cause. In others, one man is joined to one woman, in mutual love, this is the first and the better way.
4. Have you not read that Yahwah (who made them at the beginning), made them male and female, and said: For this reason a man or a woman will leave father and mother, cleave to his wife or her husband, and they two will be one flesh.
5. Therefore they are no more two, but one, flesh. What Yahwah has joined together, let man not put apart.
6. They said to Him: Why did Moshe command to give a writing of divorcement? He said to them: Because of the hardness of your hearts Moshe allowed you to put away your wives for many causes, even as he permitted you to eat flesh, but from the beginning it was not so.
7. I say to you, Whosoever will put away a wife, except for a just cause, and marry another in her place, commits adultery. His disciples said to Him: If the case of the man is so with his wife, it is not good to marry.
8. He said to them: All cannot receive this saying, save those to whom it is given. There are some who were born impotent from their mother's womb, there are some who were made eunuchs by men, and there are some who made themselves celibate for the kingdom of Yahwah's sake. He who is able to receive it, let him receive it.
9. There came little children to Him, that He should put His hands on them, and bless them, but the disciples rebuked them.
10. Yahushua said: Allow little children to come to me, do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of Heaven. He laid his hands on them, and blessed them.
11. As He entered into a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. They lifted up their voices, and said: Yahushua Master, have mercy on us.
12. When He saw them, He said to them: Go, show yourselves to the priests. It came to pass, as they went, they were cleansed. One of them, when he saw he was healed, turned back. With a loud voice he glorified Yahwah, fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks, and he was a Samaritan.
13. Yahushua said: Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? There are not found any who returned to give glory to Yahwah, save this stranger. He said to him: Arise, go your way, your faith made you whole.
Chapter 43
Yahushua Teaches Concerning the Riches of this World and the Washing of Hands and Eating Of Unclean Meats
1. Behold, one came, and said to Him: Good Master, what good thing will I do, that I may have eternal life? He said to him: Why do you call me good? There is none good but One, that is Yahwah. If you will enter into life, keep the commandments. He said to Him: which are they?
2. Yahushua said: What does Moshe teach? You will not kill, you will not commit adultery, you will not steal, you will not bear false witness, honor your father and your mother, and you will love your neighbor as yourself. The young man said to him: All these things I have kept from my youth up, what do I lack yet?
3. Yahushua said to him: If you will be perfect, go, sell what you have in abundance, give to those who have not, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me.
4. When the young man heard that saying he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions, yea, more than satisfied his needs.
5. Yahushua said to His disciple: Verily I say to you, The rich man will hardly enter into the kingdom of Heaven. Again I say to you, It is easier for a camel to go through the gate of the needle's eye than for a rich person to enter into the kingdom of Yahwah.
6. When His disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying: Who then can be saved? Yahushua beheld them, and said to them: For the carnal mind this is impossible, but with the spiritual mind all things are possible.
7. I say to you, Do not make to yourselves friends of the Mammon of unrighteousness, that when you fail they may receive you into their earthly habitations. Make friends of the true riches, even the Wisdom of Yahwah, that so you may be received into everlasting mansions which do not fade away.
8. Kepha said to Him: Behold, we abandoned all, and followed you. Yahushua said to them: Verily I say to you, When the Son of man sits on the throne of His glory in the regeneration, you who followed me will sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Yisrayah, but the things of this world are not mine to give.
9. Everyone who forsakes riches, houses, and friends, for the kingdom of Heaven's sake, and its righteousness, will receive a hundredfold in the age to come, and will inherit everlasting life. But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
10. There came to Him certain of the Scribes and Pharisees, who had seen one of His disciples eat with unwashed hands.
11. They found fault, for the Yahudim do not eat except they first wash their hands [to the elbow], and many other things they observe in the washing of cups, of vessels, and of tables.
12. They said: Why do your disciples not walk after the tradition of the elders, for we saw one who ate with unwashed hands?
13. Yahushua said: Well did Moshe command you to be clean, to keep your bodies clean, and your vessels clean, but you added things which often-times cannot be observed by everyone at all times and in all places.
14. Hearken to me, not only unclean things entering into the body of man defile the man, but much more do evil thoughts and unclean, which pour from the heart of man, defile the inner man and defile others also. Therefore take heed to your thoughts. Cleanse your hearts, and let your food be pure.
15. These things you ought to do, and to not leave the others undone. Whoever breaks the law of purification of necessity are blameless, for they do not do it of their own will, nor despise the law which is just and good. For cleanliness in all things is great gain.
16. Do not be followers of evil fashions of the world, even in appearance, many are led into evil by the outward seeming, and the likeness of evil.
Chapter 44
The Confession of the Twelve
1. Yahushua sat near the sea in a circle of twelve palm trees, where He often resorted. The Twelve and their fellows came to Him, they sat under the shade of the trees, and the sacred One taught them sitting in their midst.
2. Yahushua said to them: You heard what men in the world say concerning me, but whom do you say I am? Kepha rose up, with Andrew his brother, and said: You are the Messiah, the Son of the living Yahwah, who descended from heaven, and dwells in the hearts of those who believe and obey to righteousness. The rest rose up, and said, each after his own manner: These words are true, so we believe.
3. Yahushua answered them, saying: Blessed are you my twelve who believe, for flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but the Spirit of Yahwah which dwells in you. I indeed am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and the Truth understands all things.
4. All truth is in Yahwah, and I bear witness to the truth. I am the true Rock, and on this Rock I build my congregation, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. Out of this Rock will flow rivers of living water to give life to the peoples of the earth.
5. You are my chosen twelve. In me, the Head and Cornerstone, the twelve foundations of my house are built on the Rock. In me my congregation will be built on you, and my congregation will be established in truth and righteousness.
6. You will sit on twelve thrones, and send forth light and truth to all the twelve tribes of Yisrayah after the Spirit. I will be with you, even to the end of the world.
7. There will arise after you men of perverse minds, who (through ignorance or through craft) suppress many things I spoke to you, and lay to me things I never taught, sowing weeds among the good wheat I gave you to sow in the world.
8. The truth of Yahwah will endure the contradiction of sinners, for thus it was, and thus it will be. The time comes when the things they hid will be revealed and made known, and the truth will make free those who were bound.
9. One is your Master, all you are brothers. One is not greater than another in the place I gave to you, for you have one Master, even Messiah, who is over you, with you, and in you. There is no inequality among my twelve, or their fellows.
10. All are equally near to me. Do not strive for the first place, for you are all first. You are the foundation stones and pillars of the congregation, built on the truth which is in me and in you. You will establish the truth and the law for all, as will be given to you.
11. Verily when you and your fellows agree together touching anything in my Name, I am in the midst of you, and with you.
12. Woe is the time when the spirit of the world enters into the congregation, and my doctrines and precepts are made void through the corruption of men and of women. Woe is the world when the Light is hidden. Woe is the world when these things will be.
13. At that time Yahushua lifted His voice, and said: I thank you, O most righteous Parent, Creator of Heaven and Earth, that though these things are hidden from the wise and the prudent, they are nevertheless revealed to babes.
14. No one knows you save the Son, who is the Daughter of man. None knows the Daughter or the Son save those to whom the Messiah is revealed, who is the Two in One.
15. Come to me all you who labor, and are heavy laden, I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me. I am meek, lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. My yoke is equal, and it is easy. My burden is light, and does not press unequally.
Chapter 45
Seeking For Signs
The Unclean Spirit
1. Certain of the Scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying: Master, we would see a sign from you. He answered, and said to them: An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and there will be no sign given to it, but the sign of the prophet Yahnah [Jonah].
2. Yea, as Yahnah was three days and three nights in the whale's belly, so the Son of Man will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth, and after He will rise again.
3. The men of Nineveh will rise in judgment with this generation, and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Yahnah. Behold, a greater than Yahnah is here.
4. The Queen of the South [Sheba] will rise up in the judgment with this generation, and condemn it. She came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
5. He said: When the unclean spirit is gone out of any, he walks through dry places seeking rest, and finding none it said: I will return into my house from where I came out. When he is come he found it empty, swept, and garnished, for they did not ask the Good Spirit to dwell within them, and be their eternal Guest.
6. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there, so the last state of all such is worse than the first. Even so it will be to this wicked generation, which refuses entrance to the Spirit of Yahwah.
7. I say to you, Whosoever blasphemes the Son of Man, it will be forgiven them. Whoever blasphemes Yahwah's Spirit, it will not be forgiven them either in this age, or in the next, for they resist the Light of Yahwah by the false traditions of men.
8. While He yet talked to the people, behold, His parents, His brothers, and His sisters stood outside, desiring to speak with Him. Then one said to Him: Behold, your father, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters, stand outside, desiring to speak with you.
9. He answered, and said to him who told Him: Who is my father, and who is my mother? Who are my brothers, and my sisters?
10. He stretched forth His hand towards His disciples, and said: Behold, my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and my children! For whosoever does the will of my Parent who is in Heaven, the same is my father, my mother, my brother, my sister, my son, and my daughter.
11. There were some Pharisees who were covetous, proud of their riches, and He said to them: Take heed to yourselves, beware of covetousness, for a man's life does not consist in the abundance of things he possesses.
12. He spoke a parable to them, saying: The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully. He thought within himself, saying: What will I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
13. And he said: This I will do. I will pull down my barns, and build greater. I will bestow all my fruits and my goods there.
14. I will say to my soul: You have many goods laid up for many years, take your ease, drink, and be merry.
15. But Yahwah said to him: You fool, tonight your life is required of you, whose will those things be which you provided?
16. So are those who lay up treasures for themselves, are not rich in good works to those who need, and are in want.
Chapter 46
The Transfiguration on the Mount
The Giving of the Law
1. After six days, when the Feast of Tabernacles was near at hand, Yahushua took the twelve, and brought them up into a high mountain apart. As He was praying the fashion of His countenance was changed. He was transfigured before them, His face shone as the sun, and His garment was white as the light.
2. Behold, there appeared to them Moshe and Eliyah, talking with Him. They spoke of the Law, and of His decease which He should accomplish at Yerusalem.
3. Moshe spoke, saying: This is He of whom I foretold, saying: The Eternal will send to you a prophet from the midst of your brothers, like to me. That which the Eternal speaks to Him, He will speak to you. You will hearken to Him, whoever will not obey will bring their own destruction upon themselves.
4. Kepha said to Yahushua: Master, it is good for us to be here. If you will let us make here three tabernacles, one for you, one for Moshe, and one for Eliyah.
5. While he yet spoke, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, twelve rays as of the sun issued from behind the cloud, and a voice came out of the cloud, which said: This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear Him.
6. When the disciples heard it they fell on their faces, and were very amazed. Yahushua came, touched them, and said: Arise, do not be afraid. When they lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Yahushua only. And the six glories were seen upon Him.
7. Yahushua said to them: Behold, a new law I give to you, which is not new but old. Even as Moshe gave the Ten Commandments to Yisrayah after the flesh, so also I give to you the Twelve for the Kingdom of Yisrayah after the Spirit.
8. Who is the Yisrayah of Yahwah? Even those of every nation and tribe who work righteousness, love mercy, and keep my commandments, these are the true Yisrayah of Yahwah. Standing upon His feet, Yahushua spoke, saying:
9. Hear O Yisrayah, Yahwah your Father is One. Many are My seers, and My prophets. In Me all live, move, and have subsistence.
10. You will not take away the life of any creature for your pleasure, nor for your profit. Nor yet torment it.
11. You will not eat the flesh, nor drink the blood of any slaughtered creature, nor yet anything which brings disorder to your health or senses.
12. You will not steal the goods of any, nor gather lands and riches to yourselves beyond your need or use.
13. You will not make impure marriages, where love and health are not, nor yet corrupt yourselves or any creature made pure by the Sacred.
14. You will not bear false witness against any, nor wilfully deceive any by a lie to hurt them.
15. You will not do to others as you would not that others should do to you.
16. You will worship One Eternal, the Father-Mother in Heaven, of Whom are all things, and reverence the sacred Name.
17. You will revere your fathers and your mothers on earth, whose care is for you, and all the Teachers of Righteousness.
18. You will cherish and protect the weak, those who are oppressed, and all creatures that suffer wrong.
19. You will work with your hands the things that are good and seemly, so you will eat the fruits of the earth, and live long in the land.
20. You will purify yourselves daily, and rest from labor the Seventh Day, keeping sacred the Sabbaths and the Festivals of Yahwah.
21. You will do to others as you would that others should do to you.
22. When the disciples heard these words, they smote upon their breasts, saying: Where we have offended, forgive us, O Yahwah. May your wisdom, love, and truth within us incline our hearts to love and keep this sacred Law.
23. Yahushua said to them: My yoke is equal, and my burden light. If you will to bear it, it will be easy to you. Lay no other burden on those that enter into the kingdom, but only these necessary things.
24. This is the new Law to the Yisrayah of Yahwah, and the Law is within, for it is the Law of Love, and it is not new but old. Take heed that you add nothing to this law, nor take anything from it. Verily I say to you, Those who believe and obey this law will be saved. Those who know it and not obey, will be lost.
25. As in Adam all die, so in Messiah all will be made alive. The disobedient will be purged through many fires, those who persist [in evil] will descend, and perish eternally.
26. As they came down from the mountain, Yahushua charged them, saying: Tell the vision to no man, until the Son of man is risen again from the dead.
27. His disciples asked Him, saying: Why do the scribes say Eliyah must come first? Yahushua answered, and said to them: Eliyah truly will come first, and restore all things.
28. I say to you, Eliyah is come already, and they did not know him, but did to him whatsoever they liked. Likewise, the Son of man will also suffer of them. Then the disciples understood He spoke to them of Yahchanan the Immerser.
