The Third Book of Moshe [Moses], called Vayiqra [Leviticus]

     Leviticus

Chapter 1

1 Yahwah [YHWH] called to Moshe [Moses], and spoke to him out of the tent of meeting, saying:

2 Speak to the children of Yisrayah [Israel]. Say to them: When any man of you offers an oblation to Yahwah, offer your oblation of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.

3 If his oblation is a burnt-offering of the herd, he will offer it a male without blemish. He will offer it at the door of the tent of meeting, that he is accepted before Yahwah.

4 He will lay his hand upon the head of the burnt-offering, and it will be accepted for him to make atonement for him.

5 He will kill the bull before Yahwah. Aaron's sons, the priests, will present the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is at the door of the tent of meeting.

6 He will flay the burnt-offering, and cut it into its pieces.

7 The sons of Aaron the priest will put fire upon the altar, and lay wood in order upon the fire.

8 Aaron's sons, the priests, will lay the pieces, the head, and the fat, in order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar.

9 He will wash its inwards and its legs with water. The priest will burn the whole on the altar, for a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahwah.

10 If his oblation is of the flock, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt-offering, he will offer it a male without blemish.

11 He will kill it on the side of the altar northward before Yahwah, Aaron's sons, the priests, will sprinkle its blood upon the altar round about.

12 He will cut it into its pieces, with its head and its fat. The priest will lay them in order on the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar.

13 He will wash the inwards and the legs with water. The priest will offer the whole, and burn it upon the altar. It is a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahwah.

14 If his oblation to Yahwah is a burnt-offering of birds, then he will offer his oblation of turtle-doves, or of young pigeons.

15 The priest will bring it to the altar, wring off its head, and burn it on the altar. The blood thereof will be drained out on the side of the altar.

16 He will take away its crop with the filth thereof, and cast it beside the altar on the east part, in the place of the ashes.

17 He will rend it by the wings thereof, but will not divide it asunder. The priest will burn it upon the altar, upon the wood that is upon the fire. It is a burnt-offering, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahwah.

Chapter 2

1 When any one offers an oblation of a meal-offering to Yahwah, his oblation will be of fine flour. He will pour oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon.

2 He will bring it to Aaron's sons the priests. He will take thereout his handful of the fine flour thereof, and of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof. The priest will burn it as the memorial thereof upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahwah.

3 What is left of the meal-offering is Aaron's and his sons'. It is a thing most holy of the offerings to Yahwah made by fire.

4 When you offer an oblation of a meal-offering baked in the oven, it will be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

5 If your oblation is a meal-offering of the baking-pan, it will be of fine flour unleavened, mingled with oil.

6 Part it in pieces, and pour oil thereon. It is a meal-offering.

7 If your oblation is a meal-offering of the frying-pan, it will be made of fine flour with oil.

8 Bring the meal-offering that is made of these things to Yahwah. It will be presented to the priest, and he will bring it to the altar.

9 The priest will take up from the meal-offering the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahwah.

10 What is left of the meal-offering is Aaron's and his sons'. It is a thing most holy of the offerings to Yahwah made by fire.

11 No meal-offering, which you offer to Yahwah, will be made with leaven. You will burn no leaven, nor any honey, as an offering made by fire to Yahwah.

12 Offer them to Yahwah as an oblation of first-fruits, but they will not come up for a sweet savor on the altar.

13 Season every oblation of your meal-offering with salt. You will not suffer the salt of the covenant of your Father to be lacking from your meal-offering. You will offer salt with all your oblations.

14 If you offer a meal-offering of first-fruits to Yahwah, you shall offer for the meal-offering of your first-fruits grain in the ear parched with fire, bruised grain of the fresh ear.

15 You will put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon. It is a meal-offering.

16 The priest will burn the memorial of it, part of the bruised grain thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof. It is an offering made by fire to Yahwah.

Chapter 3

1 If his oblation is a sacrifice of peace-offerings, if he offer of the herd, whether male or female, he will offer it without blemish before Yahwah.

2 He will lay his hand upon the head of his oblation, and kill it at the door of the tent of meeting. Aaron's sons the priests will sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

3 He will offer of the sacrifice of peace-offerings an offering made by fire to Yahwah. He will take away the fat that covers the inwards, all the fat that is upon the inwards,

4 the two kidneys, the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys.

5 Aaron's sons will burn it on the altar upon the burnt-offering, which is upon the wood that is on the fire. It is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahwah.

6 If his oblation for a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Yahwah is of the flock, male or female, he will offer it without blemish.

7 If he offer a lamb for his oblation, then he will offer it before Yahwah.

8 He will lay his hand upon the head of his oblation, and kill it before the tent of meeting. Aaron's sons will sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.

9 He will offer of the sacrifice of peace-offerings an offering made by fire to Yahwah. The fat thereof, the fat tail entire, he will take away hard by the backbone. He will take away the fat that covers the inwards, all the fat that is upon the inwards,

10 the two kidneys, the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys.

11 The priest will burn it upon the altar. It is the food of the offering made by fire to Yahwah.

12 If his oblation is a goat, then he will offer it before Yahwah.

13 He will lay his hand upon the head of it, and kill it before the tent of meeting. The sons of Aaron will sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.

14 He will offer his oblation thereof, even an offering made by fire to Yahwah. He will take away the fat that covers the inwards, all the fat that is upon the inwards,

15 the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys.

16 The priest will burn them upon the altar. It is the food of the offering made by fire, for a sweet savor. All the fat is Yahwah's.

17 It is a perpetual statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings, that you eat neither fat nor blood.

Chapter 4

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Speak to the children of Yisrayah. Say: If any one sin unwittingly, in any of the commandments Yahwah commanded to not be done, and do any one of them;

3 if the anointed priest sin so as to bring guilt on the people, then let him offer a young bull without blemish to Yahwah for a sin-offering for his sin he sinned.

4 He will bring the bull to the door of the tent of meeting before Yahwah. He will lay his hand upon the head of the bull, and kill the bull before Yahwah.

5 The anointed priest will take of the blood of the bull, and bring it to the tent of meeting.

6 The priest will dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before Yahwah, before the veil of the sanctuary.

7 The priest shall put of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before Yahwah, which is in the tent of meeting. He will pour all the blood of the bull out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

8 All the fat of the bull of the sin-offering he will take off from it. He will take away the fat that covers the inwards, all the fat that is upon the inwards,

9 the two kidneys, the fat that is upon them, which is by the loins, and the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys,

10 as it is taken off from the ox of the sacrifice of peace-offerings. The priest will burn them upon the altar of burnt-offering.

11 The skin of the bull, all its flesh, with its head, with its legs, its inwards, and its dung,

12 even the whole bull he will carry forth without the camp to a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. It will be burnt where the ashes are poured out.

13 If the whole congregation of Yisrayah err, and the thing is hid from the eyes of the assembly, and they do any of the commandments Yahwah commanded to not be done, Are guilty;

14 when the sin wherein they sinned is known, then the assembly will offer a young bull for a sin-offering, and bring it before the tent of meeting.

15 The elders of the congregation will lay their hands upon the head of the bull before Yahwah, and the bull will be killed before Yahwah.

16 The anointed priest will bring of the blood of the bull to the tent of meeting.

17 The priest will dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle it seven times before Yahwah, before the veil.

18 He will put of the blood upon the horns of the altar which is before Yahwah, that is in the tent of meeting. He will pour all the blood out at the base of the altar of burnt-offering, which is at the door of the tent of meeting.

19 He will take off from it all the fat thereof, and burn it upon the altar.

20 Thus he will do with the bull. As he did with the bull of the sin-offering, so he will do with this. The priest will make atonement for them, and they will be forgiven.

21 He will carry forth the bull without the camp, and burn it as he burned the first bull. It is the sin-offering for the assembly.

22 When a ruler sins, and does unwittingly any one of all the commandments Yahwah his Father commanded to not be done, and is guilty;

23 if his sin, wherein he sinned, is made known to him, he will bring for his oblation a goat, a male without blemish.

24 He will lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt-offering before Yahwah. It is a sin-offering.

25 The priest will take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering. He will pour out the blood thereof at the base of the altar of burnt-offering.

26 He will burn all the fat upon the altar, as the fat of the sacrifice of peace-offerings. The priest will make atonement for him as concerning his sin, and he will be forgiven.

27 If any one of the common people sin unwittingly, in doing any of the commandments Yahwah commanded not to be done, and is guilty;

28 If his sin, which he sinned, is made known to him, he will bring for his oblation a goat, a female without blemish, for his sin he sinned.

29 He will lay his hand upon the head of the sin-offering, and kill the sin-offering in the place of burnt-offering.

30 The priest will take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering, All the blood thereof he will pour out at the base of the altar.

31 He will take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace-offerings. The priest will burn it upon the altar for a sweet savor to Yahwah. The priest will make atonement for him, and he will be forgiven.

32 If he brings a lamb as his oblation for a sin-offering, he will bring it a female without blemish.

33 He will lay his hand upon the head of the sin-offering, and kill it for a sin-offering in the place where they kill the burnt-offering.

34 The priest will take of the blood of the sin-offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt-offering. He will pour out the blood thereof at the base of the altar.

35 He will take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of peace-offerings. The priest will burn them on the altar, upon the offerings of Yahwah made by fire. The priest will make atonement for him as touching his sin he sinned, and he will be forgiven.

Chapter 5

1 If any one sin in that he hears the voice of adjuration, he being a witness, whether he saw or knew, and did not utter it, then he will bear his iniquity.

2 Or if any one touch any unclean thing, whether it is the carcass of an unclean beast, or the carcass of unclean cattle, or the carcass of unclean creeping things, and it is hidden from him, and he is unclean, then he will be guilty.

3 Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever his uncleanness is wherewith he is unclean, and it is hid from him, when he knows of it then he will be guilty.

4 Or if any one swear rashly with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it is a man shall utter rashly with an oath, and it is hid from him, when he knows of it, then he will be guilty in one of these things.

5 It will be, when he is guilty in one of these things, he will confess that wherein he sinned.

6 He will bring his trespass-offering to Yahwah for his sin he sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin-offering. The priest will make atonement for him as concerning his sin.

7 If his means suffice not for a lamb, he will bring his trespass-offering for that wherein he sinned, two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, to Yahwah. One for a sin-offering, the other for a burnt-offering.

8 He will bring them to the priest, who will offer what is for the sin-offering first, and wring off its head from its neck, but will not divide it asunder.

9 He will sprinkle of the blood of the sin-offering upon the side of the altar, the rest of the blood will be drained out at the base of the altar. It is a sin-offering.

10 He will offer the second for a burnt-offering, according to the ordinance. The priest will make atonement for him as concerning his sin he sinned, and he will be forgiven.

11 If his means do not suffice for two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, then he will bring his oblation for that wherein he sinned, the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin-offering. He will put no oil upon it, neither will he put any frankincense thereon, for it is a sin-offering.

12 He will bring it to the priest. The priest will take his handful of it as the memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, upon the offerings of Yahwah made by fire. It is a sin-offering.

13 The priest will make atonement for him as touching his sin he sinned in any of these things, and he will be forgiven. The remnant is the priest's, as the meal-offering.

14 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

15 If any one commit a trespass, and sin unwittingly in the holy things of Yahwah; he will bring his trespass-offering to Yahwah, a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to your estimation in silver by shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, for a trespass-offering.

16 He will make restitution for what he did amiss in the holy thing, add the fifth part thereto, and give it to the priest. The priest will make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering, and he will be forgiven.

17 If any one sin and do any of the commandments Yahwah commanded to not be done; though he did not know it, yet he is guilty, he will bear his iniquity.

18 He will bring a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass-offering, to the priest. The priest will make atonement for him concerning the thing wherein he erred unwittingly and did not know it, and he will be forgiven.

19 It is a trespass-offering. He is certainly guilty before Yahwah.

Chapter 6

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 If any one commit a trespass against Yahwah, or deal falsely with his neighbor in a matter of deposit, or of bargain, or of robbery, or has oppressed his neighbor,

3 or found what was lost and dealt falsely therein, or swear to a lie; in any of all these things a man does, he sins therein.

4 It will be, if he sinned and is guilty, he will restore what he took by robbery, or the thing he got by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing he found,

5 or any thing about which he swore falsely. He will even restore it in full, and will add the fifth part more thereto. He will give it to him to whom it appertains, in the day of his being found guilty.

6 He will bring his trespass-offering to Yahwah, a ram without blemish out of the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass-offering, to the priest.

7 The priest will make atonement for him before Yahwah. He will be forgiven concerning whatsoever he does so as to be guilty thereby.

8 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

9 Command Aaron and his sons, saying; This is the torah of the burnt-offering. The burnt-offering will be on the hearth upon the altar all night to the morning, and the fire of the altar will be kept burning thereon.

10 The priest will put on his linen garment, and his linen breeches he will put upon his flesh. He will take up the ashes whereto the fire has consumed the burnt-offering on the altar, and he will put them beside the altar.

11 He will put off his garments, put on other garments, and carry forth the ashes without the camp to a clean place.

12 The fire upon the altar will be kept burning thereon, it will not go out. The priest will burn wood on it every morning. He will lay the burnt-offering in order upon it, and burn the fat of the peace-offerings thereon.

13 Fire will be kept burning upon the altar continually, it will not go out.

14 This is the torah of the meal-offering. The sons of Aaron will offer it before Yahwah, before the altar.

15 He will take up therefrom his handful of the fine flour of the meal-offering, and of the oil thereof, all the frankincense which is upon the meal-offering, and burn it upon the altar for a sweet savor, as the memorial thereof, to Yahwah.

16 That which is left thereof Aaron and his sons will eat. It will be eaten without leaven in a holy place. They will eat it in the court of the tent of meeting.

17 It will not be baked with leaven. I give it as their portion of my offerings made by fire. It is most holy, as the sin-offering, as the trespass-offering.

18 Every male among the children of Aaron will eat of it, as his portion for ever throughout your generations, from the offerings of Yahwah made by fire. Whosoever touches them will be holy.

19 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

20 This is the oblation of Aaron and of his sons, which they will offer to Yahwah in the day when he is anointed. The tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering perpetually, half of it in the morning, and half thereof in the evening.

21 On a baking-pan it shall be made with oil. When it is soaked, you will bring it in. In baked pieces you will offer the meal-offering for a sweet savor to Yahwah.

22 The anointed priest that will be in his stead from among his sons will offer it. By a statute for ever it will be wholly burnt to Yahwah.

23 Every meal-offering of the priest will be wholly burnt, it will not be eaten.

24 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

25 Speak to Aaron and to his sons, saying; This is the torah of the sin-offering. The sin-offering will be killed before Yahwah in the place where the burnt-offering is killed. It is most holy.

26 The priest that offers it for sin will eat it. It will be eaten in a holy place, in the court of the tent of meeting.

27 Whatsoever touches the flesh thereof will be holy. When there is sprinkled of the blood thereof upon any garment, you will wash that whereon it was sprinkled in a holy place.

28 But the earthen vessel wherein it is boiled will be broken. If it is boiled in a brazen vessel, it will be scoured, and rinsed in water.

29 Every male among the priests will eat thereof. It is most holy.

30 No sin-offering, whereof any of the blood is brought into the tent of meeting to make atonement in the holy place, will be eaten. It will be burnt with fire.

Chapter 7

1 This is the torah of the trespass-offering. It is most holy.

2 They will kill the trespass-offering in the place where they kill the burnt-offering, he will sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.

3 He will offer all the fat of it. He will take away the fat tail, the fat that covers the inwards,

4 the two kidneys, the fat that is on them, which is by the loins, the caul upon the liver, with the kidneys.

5 The priest will burn them upon the altar for an offering made by fire to Yahwah. It is a trespass-offering.

6 Every male among the priests will eat thereof. It will be eaten in a holy place. It is most holy.

7 As is the sin-offering, so is the trespass-offering. There is one torah for them. The priest that makes atonement therewith, he will have it.

8 The priest that offers any man's burnt-offering, even the priest will have to himself the skin of the burnt-offering he offered.

9 Every meal-offering that is baked in the oven, all that is dressed in the frying-pan, and on the baking-pan, will be the priest's that offers it.

10 Every meal-offering, mingled with oil, or dry, all the sons of Aaron will have, one as well as another.

11 This is the torah of the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which one offers to Yahwah.

12 If he offers it for a thanksgiving, then he will offer unleavened cakes mingled with oil with the sacrifice of thanksgiving, unleavened wafers anointed with oil, and cakes mingled with oil, of fine flour soaked.

13 With cakes of leavened bread he will offer his oblation with the sacrifice of his peace-offerings for thanksgiving.

14 He will offer of it one out of each oblation for a heave-offering to Yahwah. It will be the priest's that sprinkles the blood of the peace-offerings.

15 The flesh of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings for thanksgiving will be eaten on the day of his oblation. He will not leave any of it until the morning.

16 If the sacrifice of his oblation is a vow, or a freewill-offering, it will be eaten on the day he offers his sacrifice. That which remains of it on the morrow will be eaten.

17 That which remains of the flesh of the sacrifice on the third day will be burnt with fire.

18 If any of the flesh of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings is eaten on the third day, it will not be accepted, neither will it be imputed to him who offers it. It will be an abomination. The soul that eats of it will bear his iniquity.

19 The flesh that touches any unclean thing will not be eaten, it will be burnt with fire. As for the flesh, every one that is clean will eat thereof.

20 But the soul that eats of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace-offerings, that pertain to Yahwah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul is cut off from his people.

21 When any one touches any unclean thing, the uncleanness of man, or an unclean beast, or any unclean abomination, and then eat of the flesh of the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which pertain to Yahwah, that soul is cut off from his people.

22 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

23 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, saying; You will eat no fat, of ox, or sheep, or goat.

24 The fat of what dies of itself, the fat of what is torn of beasts, may be used for any other service. But you will in no way eat of it.

25 Whosoever eats the fat of the beast, of which men offer an offering made by fire to Yahwah, even the soul that eats it is cut off from his people.

26 You will eat no manner of blood, whether it is of bird or of beast, in any of your dwellings.

27 Whosoever it is that eats any blood, that soul is cut off from his people.

28 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

29 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, saying: He who offers the sacrifice of his peace-offerings to Yahwah will bring his oblation to Yahwah out of the sacrifice of his peace-offerings.

30 His own hands will bring the offerings of Yahwah made by fire. He will bring the fat with the breast, that the breast may be waved for a wave-offering before Yahwah.

31 The priest will burn the fat upon the altar, but the breast is Aaron's, and his sons'.

32 Give the right thigh to the priest for a heave-offering out of the sacrifices of your peace-offerings.

33 He among the sons of Aaron that offers the blood of the peace-offerings, the fat, will have the right thigh for a portion.

34 I took the wave-breast and the heave-thigh of the children of Yisrayah out of the sacrifices of their peace-offerings, and give them to Aaron the priest, and to his sons, as their portion for ever from the children of Yisrayah.

35 This is the anointing-portion of Aaron, the anointing-portion of his sons, out of the offerings of Yahwah made by fire, in the day when he presented them to minister to Yahwah in the priest's office,

36 which Yahwah commanded to be given them of the children of Yisrayah, in the day he anointed them. It is their portion for ever throughout their generations.

37 This is the torah of the burnt-offering, of the meal-offering, of the sin-offering, of the trespass-offering, of the consecration, and of the sacrifice of peace-offerings,

38 which Yahwah commanded Moshe in mount Sinai, in the day He commanded the children of Yisrayah to offer their oblations to Yahwah, in the wilderness of Sinai.

Chapter 8

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Take Aaron, his sons with him, the garments, the anointing oil, the bull of the sin-offering, the two rams, and the basket of unleavened bread.

3 Assemble all the congregation at the door of the tent of meeting.

4 Moshe did as Yahwah commanded him. The congregation was assembled at the door of the tent of meeting.

5 Moshe said to the congregation: This is the thing Yahwah commanded to be done.

6 Moshe brought Aaron and his sons, and washed them with water.

7 He put the coat upon him, girded him with the girdle, clothed him with the robe, put the ephod upon him, girded him with the skilfully woven band of the ephod, and bound it to him therewith.

8 He placed the breastplate upon him. He put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastplate.

9 He set the mitre upon his head. He set the golden plate upon the mitre, in front, the holy crown, as Yahwah commanded Moshe.

10 Moshe took the anointing oil, anointed the tabernacle, all that was therein, and sanctified them.

11 He sprinkled thereof upon the altar seven times. Anointed the altar, all its vessels, the laver, and its base, to sanctify them.

12 He poured of the anointing oil upon Aaron's head, anointed him, to sanctify him.

13 Moshe brought Aaron's sons, clothed them with coats, girded them with girdles, and bound head-tires upon them, as Yahwah commanded Moshe.

14 He brought the bull of the sin-offering. Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the bull of the sin-offering.

15 He slew it. Moshe took the blood, put it upon the horns of the altar round about with his finger, and purified the altar. He poured out the blood at the base of the altar, and sanctified it, to make atonement for it.

16 He took all the fat upon the inwards, the caul of the liver, the two kidneys, their fat, and Moshe burned it upon the altar.

17 But the bull, its skin, its flesh, and its dung, he burnt with fire without the camp, as Yahwah commanded Moshe.

18 He presented the ram of the burnt-offering, Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.

19 He killed it, and Moshe sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.

20 He cut the ram into its pieces. Moshe burnt the head, and the pieces, the fat.

21 He washed the inwards and the legs with water, and Moshe burnt the whole ram upon the altar. It was a burnt-offering for a sweet savor. It was an offering made by fire to Yahwah, as Yahwah commanded Moshe.

22 He presented the other ram, the ram of consecration, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands upon the head of the ram.

23 He slew it. Moshe took of the blood thereof, put it upon the tip of Aaron's right ear, upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

24 He brought Aaron's sons. Moshe put of the blood upon the tip of their right ear, upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot. Moshe sprinkled the blood upon the altar round about.

25 He took the fat, the fat tail, all the fat upon the inwards, the caul of the liver, the two kidneys, their fat, and the right thigh.

26 Out of the basket of unleavened bread that was before Yahwah, he took one unleavened cake, one cake of oiled bread, one wafer, placed them on the fat, and upon the right thigh.

27 He put the whole upon the hands of Aaron, and upon the hands of his sons, and waved them for a wave-offering before Yahwah.

28 Moshe took them from off their hands, and burnt them on the altar upon the burnt-offering. They were a consecration for a sweet savor. It was an offering made by fire to Yahwah.

29 Moshe took the breast, and waved it for a wave-offering before Yahwah. It was Moshe' portion of the ram of consecration, as Yahwah commanded Moshe.

30 Moshe took of the anointing oil, and of the blood upon the altar, and sprinkled it upon Aaron, upon his garments, upon his sons, upon his sons' garments with him, and sanctified Aaron, his garments, his sons, and his sons' garments with him.

31 Moshe said to Aaron, and to his sons: Boil the flesh at the door of the tent of meeting. Eat it there. The bread in the basket of consecration, as I commanded, saying: Aaron and his sons will eat it.

32 Burn with fire what remains of the flesh, and of the bread.

33 Do not go out from the door of the tent of meeting seven days, until the days of your consecration are fulfilled. He will consecrate you seven days.

34 As is done today, so Yahwah commanded to do, to make atonement for you.

35 You will abide day and night seven days at the door of the tent of meeting, and keep the charge of Yahwah, that you not die. For so I am commanded.

36 Aaron and his sons did all the things Yahwah commanded by Moshe.

Chapter 9

1 It came to pass on the eighth day, Moshe called Aaron, his sons, and the elders of Yisrayah.

2 He said to Aaron: Take a calf of the herd for a sin-offering, a ram without blemish for a burnt-offering, and offer them before Yahwah.

3 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, saying: Take you a he-goat for a sin-offering. A calf, a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt-offering.

4 An ox, a ram for peace-offerings, to sacrifice before Yahwah. A meal-offering mingled with oil. Yahwah appears to you today.

5 They brought what Moshe commanded before the tent of meeting. All the congregation drew near, and stood before Yahwah.

6 Moshe said: This is the thing Yahwah commanded you should do. The glory of Yahwah will appear to you.

7 Moshe said to Aaron: Draw near to the altar, offer your sin-offering, your burnt-offering, make atonement for yourself, and for the people. Offer the oblation of the people, and make atonement for them, as Yahwah commanded.

8 So Aaron drew near to the altar, and slew the calf of the sin-offering, which was for himself.

9 The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him. He dipped his finger in the blood, put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar.

10 Upon the altar he burnt the fat, the kidneys, and the caul from the liver of the sin-offering, as Yahwah commanded Moshe.

11 The flesh and skin he burnt with fire without the camp.

12 He slew the burnt-offering. Aaron's sons delivered the blood to him, and he sprinkled it upon the altar round about.

13 They delivered the burnt-offering to him, piece by piece, and the head. He burnt them upon the altar.

14 He washed the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt-offering on the altar.

15 He presented the people's oblation, took the goat of the sin-offering which was for the people, slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first.

16 He presented the burnt-offering, and offered it according to the ordinance.

17 He presented the meal-offering, filled his hand therefrom, and burnt it upon the altar, besides the burnt-offering of the morning.

18 He also slew the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which was for the people. Aaron's sons delivered the blood to him, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about.

19 The fat of the ox, and of the ram, the fat tail, what covers the inwards, the kidneys, and the caul of the liver.

20 They put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar.

21 The breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave-offering before Yahwah, as Moshe commanded.

22 Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them. He came down from offering the sin-offering, the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings.

23 Moshe and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, came out, and blessed the people. The glory of Yahwah appeared to all the people.

24 There came forth fire from before Yahwah, and consumed upon the altar the burnt-offering and the fat. When all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces!

Chapter 10

1 Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took each of them his censer, put fire therein, laid incense thereon, and offered strange fire before Yahwah, which He did not command them.

2 There came forth fire from before Yahwah, and devoured them. They died before Yahwah.

3 Moshe said to Aaron: This is it that Yahwah spoke, saying; I will be sanctified in those who come near me, and I will be glorified before all the people. Aaron held his peace.

4 Moshe called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them: Draw near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.

5 So they drew near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp, as Moshe said.

6 Moshe said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and to Ithamar, his sons: Do not let the hair of your heads go loose, neither rend your clothes, that you not die. He is not wroth with all the congregation. But let your brethren, the whole house of Yisrayah, bewail the burning Yahwah kindled.

7 Do not go out from the door of the tent of meeting, lest you die, for the anointing oil of Yahwah is upon you. They did according to the word of Moshe.

8 Yahwah spoke to Aaron, saying:

9 Drink no wine nor strong drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tent of meeting, that you not die. It is a statute for ever throughout your generations,

10 that you make a distinction between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean.

11 Teach the children of Yisrayah all the statutes Yahwah spoke to them by Moshe.

12 Moshe spoke to Aaron, to Eleazar, and to Ithamar, his sons that were left: Take the meal-offering that remains of the offerings of Yahwah made by fire, and eat it without leaven beside the altar. For it is most holy.

13 Eat it in a holy place, because it is your portion, and your sons' portion, of the offerings of Yahwah made by fire. For so I am commanded.

14 Eat the wave-breast and the heave-thigh in a clean place, you, your sons, and your daughters with you. They are given as your portion, and your sons' portion, out of the sacrifices of the peace-offerings of the children of Yisrayah.

15 They will bring the heave-thigh and the wave-breast with the offerings made by fire of the fat, to wave it for a wave-offering before Yahwah. It is yours, and your sons' with you, as a portion for ever, as Yahwah commanded.

16 Moshe diligently sought the goat of the sin-offering, and, behold, it was burnt. He was angry with Eleazar and with Ithamar, the sons of Aaron that were left, saying:

17 Why did you not eat the sin-offering in the place of the sanctuary, seeing it is most holy, and He gave it you to bear the iniquity of the congregation, to make atonement for them before Yahwah?

18 Behold, the blood of it was not brought into the sanctuary within. You should certainly have eaten it in the sanctuary, as I commanded.

19 Aaron spoke to Moshe: Behold, today they offered their sin-offering and their burnt-offering before Yahwah. There befall me such things as these. If I had eaten the sin-offering today, would it have been well-pleasing in the sight of Yahwah?

20 When Moshe heard that, it was well-pleasing in his sight.

Chapter 11

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe and to Aaron, saying to them:

2 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, saying; These are the living things you may eat among all the beasts on the earth.

3 Whatsoever parts the hoof, is clovenfooted, and chews the cud, among the beasts, that you may eat.

4 Nevertheless these you will not eat of those who chew the cud, or of those who part the hoof. The camel, because he chews the cud but does not part the hoof, he is unclean to you.

5 The coney, because he chews the cud but does not part the hoof, he is unclean to you.

6 The hare, because she chews the cud but does not part the hoof, she is unclean to you.

7 The swine, because he parts the hoof, and is clovenfooted, but does not chew the cud, he is unclean to you.

8 You will not eat of their flesh, and you will not touch their carcasses. They are unclean to you.

9 These you may eat of all that are in the waters. Whatsoever has fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, that you may eat.

10 All that does not have both fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of all the living creatures that are in the waters, they are an abomination to you.

11 They are an abomination to you. You will not eat of their flesh. You will have their carcasses in abomination.

12 Whatsoever has no fins nor scales in the waters, that is an abomination to you.

13 These you will have in abomination among the birds, they will not be eaten, they are an abomination. The eagle, the gier-eagle, the osprey,

14 the kite, the falcon after its kind,

15 every raven after its kind,

16 the ostrich, the night-hawk, the seamew, the hawk after its kind,

17 the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,

18 the horned owl, the pelican, the vulture,

19 the stork, the heron after its kind, the hoopoe, and the bat.

20 All winged creeping things that go upon all fours are an abomination to you.

21 Yet these you may eat of all winged creeping things that go upon all fours, which have legs above their feet, wherewith to leap upon the earth.

22 Even these of them you may eat. The locust after its kind, the bald locust after its kind, the cricket after its kind, and the grasshopper after its kind.

23 But all winged creeping things which have four feet are an abomination to you.

24 You become unclean by these. Whosoever touches the carcass of them is unclean until the even.

25 Whosoever bears aught of the carcass of them will wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

26 Every beast which parts the hoof, and is not clovenfooted, nor chews the cud, is unclean to you. Every one that touches them is unclean.

27 Whatsoever goes upon its paws, among all beasts that go on all fours, they are unclean to you. Whoso touches their carcass is unclean until the even.

28 He that bears the carcass of them will wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. They are unclean to you.

29 These are those who are unclean to you among the creeping things that creep upon the earth. The weasel, the mouse, the great lizard after its kind,

30 the gecko, the land-crocodile, the lizard, the sand-lizard, and the chameleon.

31 These are those who are unclean to you among all that creep. Whosoever touches them when they are dead is unclean until the even.

32 Upon whatsoever any of them falls when they are dead, it is unclean. Whether it is any vessel of wood, or raiment, or skin, or sack, whatsoever vessel it is, wherewith any work is done, it must be put into water, and it will be unclean until the even. Then it will be clean.

33 Every earthen vessel whereinto any of them falls, whatsoever is in it is unclean, and it you will break.

34 All food therein which may be eaten, that on which water comes, is unclean. All drink that may be drunk in every such vessel is unclean.

35 Every thing whereupon any part of their carcass falls is unclean. Whether oven, or range for pots, it will be broken in pieces. They are unclean, and are unclean to you.

36 Nevertheless a fountain or a pit wherein is a gathering of water will be clean, but what touches their carcass is unclean.

37 If aught of their carcass fall upon any sowing seed which is to be sown, it is clean.

38 But if water is put upon the seed, and aught of their carcass fall thereon, it is unclean to you.

39 If any beast, of which you may eat, he who touches the carcass thereof is unclean until the even.

40 He who eats of the carcass of it will wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even. He also that bears the carcass of it will wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even.

41 Every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth is an abomination. It will not be eaten.

42 Whatsoever goes upon the belly, and whatsoever goes upon all fours, or whatsoever has many feet, even all creeping things that creep upon the earth, you will not eat them. They are an abomination.

43 You will not make yourselves abominable with any creeping thing that creeps, neither will you make yourselves unclean with them, that you should be defiled thereby.

44 I am Yahwah your Father. Sanctify yourselves, and be holy, for I am holy. Neither will you defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that moves upon the earth.

45 I am Yahwah who brought you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your Father. Be holy, for I am holy.

46 This is the torah of the beast, of the bird, of every living creature that moves in the waters, and of every creature that creeps upon the earth;

47 to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the living thing that may be eaten and the living thing that may not be eaten.

Chapter 12

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, saying; If a woman conceive seed, and bear a man-child, then she will be unclean seven days. She is unclean as in the days of the impurity of her sickness.

3 The flesh of his foreskin will be circumcised in the eighth day.

4 She will continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days. She will touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying are fulfilled.

5 But if she bear a maid-child, then she will be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity. She will continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.

6 When the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son or for a daughter, she will bring a lamb a year old for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtle-dove, for a sin-offering, to the door of the tent of meeting, to the priest.

7 He will offer it before Yahwah, and make atonement for her. She will be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. This is the torah for her that bears, whether a male or a female.

8 If her means do not suffice for a lamb, then she will take two turtledoves, or two young pigeons. The one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering. The priest will make atonement for her, and she will be clean.

Chapter 13

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, and to Aaron, saying:

2 When a man has a rising, or a scab, or a bright spot, in the skin of his flesh, and it become the plague of leprosy in the skin of his flesh, then he will be brought to Aaron the priest, or to one of his sons the priests.

3 The priest will look on the plague in the skin of the flesh. If the hair in the plague is turned white, and the appearance of the plague is deeper than the skin of his flesh, it is the plague of leprosy. The priest will look on him, and pronounce him unclean.

4 If the bright spot is white in the skin of his flesh, the appearance thereof is not deeper than the skin, and the hair thereof is not turned white, then the priest will shut up him that has the plague seven days.

5 The priest will look on him the seventh day. Behold, if the plague is at a stay in his eyes, and the plague is not spread in the skin, then the priest will shut him up seven days more.

6 The priest will look on him again the seventh day. Behold, if the plague is dim, and the plague is not spread in the skin, then the priest will pronounce him clean. It is a scab, he will wash his clothes, and be clean.

7 But if the scab spreads abroad in the skin, after he showed himself to the priest for his cleansing, he will show himself to the priest again.

8 The priest will look. Behold, if the scab is spread in the skin, then the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is leprosy.

9 When the plague of leprosy is in a man, he will be brought to the priest.

10 The priest will look. Behold, if there is a white rising in the skin, and it turned the hair white, and there is quick raw flesh in the rising,

11 it is an old leprosy in the skin of his flesh. The priest will pronounce him unclean. He will not shut him up, for he is unclean.

12 If the leprosy break out abroad in the skin, and the leprosy cover all the skin of him that has the plague from his head even to his feet, as far as appears to the priest,

13 then the priest will look. Behold, if the leprosy covered all his flesh, he will pronounce him clean that has the plague. It is all turned white, he is clean.

14 But whensoever raw flesh appars in him, he will be unclean.

15 The priest will look on the raw flesh, and pronounce him unclean. The raw flesh is unclean, it is leprosy.

16 Or if the raw flesh turn again, and changes to white, then he will come to the priest.

17 The priest will look on him. Behold, if the plague is turned into white, the priest will pronounce him clean that has the plague. He is clean.

18 When the flesh has a boil in the skin thereof, and it is healed,

19 and in the place of the boil there is a white rising, or a bright spot, reddish-white, then it will be showed to the priest.

20 The priest will look. Behold, if the appearance thereof is lower than the skin, and the hair thereof is turned white, then the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy, it broke out in the boil.

21 But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there are no white hairs therein, and it is not lower than the skin, but is dim, then the priest will shut him up seven days.

22 If it spread abroad in the skin, then the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is a plague.

23 But if the bright spot stay in its place, and is not spread, it is the scar of the boil, and the priest shall pronounce him clean.

24 Or when the flesh has a burning by fire in the skin thereof, and the quick flesh of the burning become a bright spot, reddish-white, or white,

25 then the priest will look upon it. Behold, if the hair in the bright spot is turned white, and the appearance thereof is deeper than the skin, it is leprosy, it broke out in the burning. The priest will pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy.

26 But if the priest look on it, and, behold, there is no white hair in the bright spot, and it is no lower than the skin, but is dim, then the priest will shut him up seven days.

27 The priest will look upon him the seventh day. If it spread abroad in the skin, then the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is the plague of leprosy.

28 If the bright spot stay in its place, and is not spread in the skin, but is dim, it is the rising of the burning, and the priest shall pronounce him clean. It is the scar of the burning.

29 When a man or woman has a plague upon the head or upon the beard,

30 then the priest will look on the plague. Behold, if the appearance thereof is deeper than the skin, and there is yellow thin hair in it, then the priest will pronounce him unclean. It is a scall, it is leprosy of the head or of the beard.

31 If the priest look on the plague of the scall, and, behold, the appearance thereof is not deeper than the skin, and there is no black hair in it, then the priest will shut up him that has the plague of the scall seven days.

32 The priest will look on the plague in the seventh day. Behold, if the scall is not spread, and there is no yellow hair in it, and the appearance of the scall is not deeper than the skin,

33 then he will be shaven, but the scall he will not shave. The priest shall shut up him that has the scall seven days more.

34 The priest will look on the scall in the seventh day. Behold, if the scall is not spread in the skin, and the appearance thereof is not deeper than the skin, then the priest shall pronounce him clean. He will wash his clothes, and be clean.

35 But if the scall spread abroad in the skin after his cleansing,

36 then the priest shall look on him. Behold, if the scall is spread in the skin, the priest will not seek for the yellow hair. He is unclean.

37 But if the scall is at a stay in his eyes, and black hair is grown up therein, the scall is healed, he is clean. The priest shall pronounce him clean.

38 When a man or a woman has in the skin of the flesh bright spots, even white bright spots,

39 then the priest will look. Behold, if the bright spots in the skin of their flesh are of a dull white, it is a tetter, it has broken out in the skin. He is clean.

40 If a man's hair is fallen off his head, he is bald. Yet he is clean.

41 If his hair is fallen off from the front part of his head, he is forehead bald. Yet he is clean.

42 But if there is a reddish-white plague in the bald head, or the bald forehead, it is leprosy breaking out in his bald head, or his bald forehead.

43 Then the priest will look upon him. Behold, if the rising of the plague is reddish-white in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the appearance of leprosy in the skin of the flesh,

44 he is a leprous man. He is unclean. The priest will surely pronounce him unclean, his plague is in his head.

45 The leper in whom the plague is, his clothes will be rent, and the hair of his head will go loose. He will cover his upper lip, and cry: Unclean, unclean.

46 All the days wherein the plague is in him he will be unclean. He is unclean. He will dwell alone, his dwelling will be without the camp.

47 The garment also that the plague of leprosy is in, whether it is a woollen garment, or a linen garment,

48 whether it be in warp, or woof, of linen, or of woollen, whether in a skin, or in anything made of skin,

49 if the plague is greenish or reddish in the garment, or in the skin, or in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin, it is the plague of leprosy, and will be showed to the priest.

50 The priest will look upon the plague, and shut up what has the plague seven days.

51 He will look on the plague on the seventh day. If the plague is spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in the skin, whatever service skin is used for, the plague is a fretting leprosy. It is unclean.

52 He will burn the garment, whether the warp or the woof, in woollen or in linen, or anything of skin, wherein the plague is. For it is a fretting leprosy, it will be burnt in the fire.

53 If the priest looks, and, behold, the plague is not spread in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin,

54 then the priest will command they wash the thing wherein the plague is, and he will shut it up seven days more.

55 The priest shall look, after the plague is washed. Behold, if the plague has not changed its color, and the plague is not spread, it is unclean. Burn it in the fire. It is a fret, whether the bareness be within or without.

56 If the priest look, and, behold, the plague is dim after the washing thereof, then he will rend it out of the garment, or out of the skin, or out of the warp, or out of the woof.

57 If it appear still in the garment, either in the warp, or in the woof, or in anything of skin, it is breaking out. Burn with fire that wherein the plague is.

58 The garment, either the warp, or the woof, or whatsoever thing of skin it is, which you wash, if the plague is departed from them, then it will be washed the second time, and will be clean.

59 This is the torah of the plague of leprosy in a garment of woollen or linen, either in the warp, or the woof, or anything of skin, to pronounce it clean, or to pronounce it unclean.

Chapter 14

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 This is the torah of the leper in the day of his cleansing. He will be brought to the priest.

3 The priest will go forth out of the camp, and the priest will look. Behold, if the plague of leprosy is healed in the leper,

4 then the priest will command to take for him that is to be cleansed two living clean birds, cedar wood, scarlet, and hyssop.

5 The priest will command to kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.

6 As for the living bird, he will take it, the cedar wood, the scarlet, and the hyssop, and dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water.

7 He will sprinkle seven times upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy, pronounce him clean, and let the living bird go into the open field.

8 He that is to be cleansed will wash his clothes, shave off all his hair, and bathe himself in water. He will be clean. After that he will come into the camp, but will dwell outside his tent seven days.

9 It will be on the seventh day, he will shave all his hair off his head, his beard, and his eyebrows, even all his hair he will shave off. He will wash his clothes, he will bathe his flesh in water, and he will be clean.

10 On the eighth day he will take two he-lambs without blemish, one ewe-lamb a year old without blemish, three tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, and one log of oil.

11 The priest that cleanses him will set the man that is to be cleansed, and those things, before Yahwah, at the door of the tent of meeting.

12 The priest will take one of the he-lambs, and offer him for a trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and wave them for a wave-offering before Yahwah.

13 He will kill the he-lamb in the place where they kill the sin-offering and the burnt-offering, in the place of the sanctuary. As the sin-offering is the priest's, so is the trespass-offering. It is most holy.

14 The priest will take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and the priest will put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

15 The priest will take of the log of oil, and pour it into the palm of his own left hand.

16 The priest will dip his right finger in the oil that is in his left hand, and sprinkle of the oil with his finger seven times before Yahwah.

17 Of the rest of the oil in his hand the priest will put upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the blood of the trespass-offering.

18 The rest of the oil in the priest's hand he will put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed, and the priest shall make atonement for him before Yahwah.

19 The priest will offer the sin-offering, and make atonement for him that is to be cleansed because of his uncleanness. Afterward he will kill the burnt-offering.

20 The priest will offer the burnt-offering and the meal-offering upon the altar. The priest will make atonement for him, and he will be clean.

21 If he is poor, and cannot get so much, then he will take one he-lamb for a trespass-offering to be waved, to make atonement for him, one tenth part of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil for a meal-offering, a log of oil,

22 and two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, such as he is able to get. The one is a sin-offering, and the other a burnt-offering.

23 On the eighth day he will bring them for his cleansing to the priest, to the door of the tent of meeting, before Yahwah./p>

24 The priest will take the lamb of the trespass-offering, and the log of oil, and the priest will wave them for a wave-offering before Yahwah.

25 He will kill the lamb of the trespass-offering. The priest will take of the blood of the trespass-offering, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot.

26 The priest will pour of the oil into the palm of his own left hand.

27 The priest will sprinkle with his right finger some of the oil that is in his left hand seven times before Yahwah.

28 The priest will put of the oil that is in his hand upon the tip of the right ear of him that is to be cleansed, and upon the thumb of his right hand, and upon the great toe of his right foot, upon the place of the blood of the trespass-offering.

29 The rest of the oil that is in the priest's hand he will put upon the head of him that is to be cleansed, to make atonement before Yahwah for him.

30 He will offer one of the turtle-doves, or of the young pigeons, such as he is able to get,

31 even such as he is able to get. The one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, with the meal-offering. The priest will make atonement before Yahwah for him that is to be cleansed.

32 This is the torah of him in whom is the plague of leprosy, who is not able to get what pertains to his cleansing.

33 Yahwah spoke to Moshe and to Aaron, saying:

34 When you come into the land of Canaan, which I give to you for a possession, and I put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of your possession.

35 Then he that owns the house will come and tell the priest, saying: There seems to me to be as it were a plague in the house.

36 The priest will command they empty the house, before the priest goes in to see the plague, that all that is in the house is not made unclean. Afterward the priest will go in to see the house.

37 He will look on the plague. Behold, if the plague is in the walls of the house with hollow streaks, greenish or reddish, and the appearance thereof is lower than the wall,

38 then the priest will go out of the house to the door of the house, and shut up the house seven days.

39 The priest will come again the seventh day, and will look. Behold, if the plague is spread in the walls of the house,

40 the priest will command they take out the stones in which the plague is, and cast them into an unclean place without the city.

41 He will cause the house to be scraped within round about, and they will pour out the mortar they scrape off without the city, into an unclean place.

42 They will take other stones, and put them in the place of those stones. He will take other mortar, and plaster the house.

43 If the plague comes again, and breaks out in the house, after he took out the stones, after he scraped the house, after it is plastered,

44 then the priest shall come in and look. Behold, if the plague is spread in the house, it is a fretting leprosy in the house. It is unclean.

45 He will break down the house, the stones of it, the timber thereof, and all the mortar of the house. He will carry them forth out of the city into an unclean place.

46 Moreover he that goes into the house all the while that it is shut up shall be unclean until the even.

47 He that lies in the house shall wash his clothes, and he that eats in the house shall wash his clothes.

48 If the priest shall come in, and look, and, behold, the plague has not spread in the house, after the house was plastered, then the priest shall pronounce the house clean, because the plague is healed.

49 he will take to cleanse the house two birds, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop.

50 he will kill one of the birds in an earthen vessel over running water.

51 he will take the cedar wood, The hyssop, The scarlet, The living bird, and dip them in the blood of the slain bird, and in the running water, and sprinkle the house seven times.

52 he will cleanse the house with the blood of the bird, and with the running water, and with the living bird, and with the cedar wood, and with the hyssop, and with the scarlet.

53 But he will let go the living bird out of the city into the open field. So he will make atonement for the house, and it shall be clean.

54 This is the torah for all manner of plague of leprosy, and for a scall,

55 and for the leprosy of a garment, and for a house,

56 and for a rising, and for a scab, and for a bright spot.

57 To teach when it is unclean, and when it is clean, this is the torah of leprosy.

Chapter 15

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe and to Aaron, saying:

2 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, and say to them; When any man has an issue out of his flesh, he is unclean because of his issue.

3 This is his uncleanness in his issue. Whether his flesh run with his issue, or his flesh is stopped from his issue, it is his uncleanness.

4 Every bed whereon he that has the issue lies is unclean, and everything whereon he sits is unclean.

5 Whosoever touches his bed will wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

6 He that sits on anything whereon he that has the issue sat will wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

7 He that touches the flesh of him that has the issue will wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

8 If he that has the issue spit upon him that is clean, then he will wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

9 What saddle soever he that has the issue rides upon is unclean.

10 Whosoever touches anything that was under him is unclean until the even. He that bears those things shall wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

11 Whomsoever he that has the issue touches, without having rinsed his hands in water, he will wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

12 The earthen vessel which he that has the issue touches will be broken. And every vessel of wood will be rinsed in water.

13 When he that has an issue is cleansed of his issue, then he will number seven days to himself for his cleansing, and wash his clothes. He will bathe his flesh in running water, and be clean.

14 On the eighth day he will take to him two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, and come before Yahwah to the door of the tent of meeting, and give them to the priest.

15 The priest will offer them, the one for a sin-offering, the other for a burnt-offering. The priest will make atonement for him before Yahwah for his issue.

16 If any man's seed of copulation go out from him, then he will bathe all his flesh in water, and be unclean until the even.

17 Every garment, and every skin, whereon is the seed of copulation, will be washed with water, and be unclean until the even.

18 The woman also with whom a man lies with seed of copulation, they will both bathe themselves in water, and be unclean until the even.

19 If a woman has an issue, and her issue in her flesh is blood, she will be in her impurity seven days. Whosoever touches her is unclean until the even.

20 Everything she lies upon in her impurity is unclean. Everything also that she sits upon is unclean.

21 Whosoever touches her bed will wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

22 Whosoever touches anything she sits upon will wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

23 If it is on the bed, or on anything whereon she sits, when he touches it, he will be unclean until the even.

24 If any man lie with her, and her impurity is upon him, he is unclean seven days. Every bed whereon he lies is unclean.

25 If a woman has an issue of her blood many days not in the time of her impurity, or if she has an issue beyond the time of her impurity, all the days of the issue of her uncleanness she will be as in the days of her impurity. She is unclean.

26 Every bed whereon she lies all the days of her issue are to her as the bed of her impurity. Everything whereon she sits is unclean, as the uncleanness of her impurity.

27 Whosoever touches those things is unclean, will wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even.

28 But if she is cleansed of her issue, then she will number seven days to herself, after that she will be clean.

29 On the eighth day she will take to her two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons, and bring them to the priest, to the door of the tent of meeting.

30 The priest will offer the one for a sin-offering, the other for a burnt-offering. The priest will make atonement for her before Yahwah for the issue of her uncleanness.

31 Thus you will separate the children of Yisrayah from their uncleanness, that they not die in their uncleanness when they defile my tabernacle that is in the midst of them.

32 This is the torah of him that has an issue, and of him whose seed of copulation goes from him, so that he is unclean thereby.

33 And of her that is sick with her impurity, and of him that has an issue, of the man, of the woman, and of him that lies with her that is unclean.

Chapter 16

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before Yahwah, and died.

2 Yahwah said to Moshe: Speak to Aaron your brother, that he not come at all times into the holy place within the veil, before the mercy-seat which is upon the ark, that he not die. I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy-seat.

3 Herewith will Aaron come into the holy place. With a young bull for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering.

4 He will put on the holy linen coat, he will have the linen breeches upon his flesh, be girded with the linen girdle, and he will be attired with the linen mitre. They are the holy garments. He will bathe his flesh in water, and put them on.

5 He will take of the congregation of the children of Yisrayah two he-goats for a sin-offering, and one ram for a burnt-offering.

6 Aaron shall present the bull of the sin-offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself, and for his house.

7 He will take the two goats, and set them before Yahwah at the door of the tent of meeting.

8 Aaron will cast lots upon the two goats. One lot for Yahwah, and the other lot for Azazel [Enoch 8:1, 10:4-9 "to him ascribe all sin", 13:1].

9 Aaron will present the goat upon which the lot fell for Yahwah, and offer him for a sin-offering [prototype of Yahshua the scapegoat for humanity].

10 But the goat on which the lot fell for Azazel will be set alive before Yahwah, to make atonement for him, to send him away for Azazel into the wilderness.

11 Aaron will present the bull of the sin-offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself, and for his house, and kill the bull of the sin-offering which is for himself.

12 He will take a censer full of coals of fire from off the altar before Yahwah, his hands full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the veil.

13 He will put the incense upon the fire before Yahwah, that the cloud of the incense may cover the mercy-seat that is upon the testimony, that he not die.

14 He will take of the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it with his finger upon the mercy-seat on the east. Before the mercy-seat he will sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times.

15 He will kill the goat of the sin-offering, that is for the people, bring his blood within the veil, and do with his blood as he did with the blood of the bull. Sprinkle it upon the mercy-seat, and before the mercy-seat.

16 He will make atonement for the holy place, because of the uncleannesses of the children of Yisrayah, and because of their transgressions, even all their sins. So he will do for the tent of meeting, that dwells with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.

17 There will be no man in the tent of meeting when he goes in to make atonement in the holy place, until he come out and makes atonement for himself, for his household, and for all the assembly of Yisrayah.

18 He will go out to the altar that is before Yahwah, and make atonement for it. He will take of the blood of the bull, and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round about.

19 He will sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven times, cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleannesses of the children of Yisrayah.

20 When he makes an end of atoning for the holy place, the tent of meeting, and the altar, he will present the live goat.

21 Aaron will lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Yisrayah, and all their transgressions, even all their sins. He will put them upon the head of the goat, and send him away into the wilderness by the hand of a man that is in readiness.

22 The goat will bear upon him all their iniquities to a solitary land. He will let go the goat in the wilderness.

23 Aaron will come into the tent of meeting, and put off the linen garments which he put on when he went into the holy place, and leave them there.

24 He will bathe his flesh in water in a holy place, put on his garments, come forth, offer his burnt-offering and the burnt-offering of the people, to make atonement for himself and for the people.

25 He will burn the fat of the sin-offering upon the altar.

26 He that lets go the goat for Azazel will wash his clothes, bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he will come into the camp.

27 The bull of the sin-offering, and the goat of the sin-offering, whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, will be carried forth without the camp. They will burn in the fire their skins, their flesh, and their dung.

28 He that burns them will wash his clothes, bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he will come into the camp.

29 It is a statute for ever to you. In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you will afflict your souls, and do no manner of work, the home-born, or the stranger that sojourns among you.

30 On this day atonement will be made for you, to cleanse you. You will be clean before Yahwah from all your sins.

31 It is a sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you will afflict your souls. It is a statute for ever.

32 The priest, who is anointed and who is consecrated to be priest in his father's stead, will make the atonement, and will put on the linen garments, even the holy garments.

33 He will make atonement for the holy sanctuary. He will make atonement for the tent of meeting and for the altar. He will make atonement for the priests, and for all the people of the assembly.

34 This is an everlasting statute to you, to make atonement for the children of Yisrayah because of all their sins once in the year. He did as Yahwah commanded Moshe.

Chapter 17

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Speak to Aaron, to his sons, to all the children of Yisrayah, and say to them; This is the thing Yahwah commanded, saying;

3 Blood will be imputed to that man soever there is of the house of Yisrayah that kills an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp;

4 or that kills it without the camp, and did not bring it to the door of the tent of meeting to offer it as an oblation to Yahwah before the tabernacle of Yahwah. He shed blood, that man is cut off from among his people.

5 To the end that the children of Yisrayah may bring their sacrifices, which they sacrifice in the open field, even that they may bring them to Yahwah, to the door of the tent of meeting, to the priest, and sacrifice them for sacrifices of peace-offerings to Yahwah.

6 The priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of Yahwah at the door of the tent of meeting, and burn the fat for a sweet savor to Yahwah.

7 They will not sacrifice their sacrifices to the he-goats, after which they play the harlot. This is a statute forever to them throughout their generations.

8 You will say to them: Whatsoever man there is of the house of Yisrayah, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that offers a burnt-offering or sacrifice,

9 and does not bring it to the door of the tent of meeting to sacrifice it to Yahwah, that man is cut off from his people.

10 Whatsoever man there is of the house of Yisrayah, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, that eats any manner of blood, I will set my face against that soul that eats blood, and cut him off from among his people.

11 The life of the flesh is in the blood. I give it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls. It is the blood that makes atonement by reason of the life.

12 Therefore I said to the children of Yisrayah: No soul of you will eat blood, neither will any stranger that sojourns among you eat blood.

13 Whatsoever man there is of the children of Yisrayah, or of the strangers that sojourn among them, who takes in hunting any beast or bird that may be eaten, he will pour out the blood thereof and cover it with dust.

14 As to the life of all flesh, the blood thereof is all one with the life thereof. Therefore I said to the children of Yisrayah, you will eat the blood of no manner of flesh. The life of all flesh is the blood thereof, whosoever eats it is cut off.

15 Every soul that eats what dies of itself, or what is torn of beasts, whether he is home-born or a sojourner, he will wash his clothes, bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even. Then he will be clean.

16 But if he not wash them, nor bathe his flesh, then he will bear his iniquity.

Chapter 18

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, and say to them; I am Yahwah your Father.

3 You will not do after the doings of the land of Egypt, wherein you dwelt. You will not do after the doings of the land of Canaan, where I bring you. Neither will you walk in their statutes.

4 You will do my ordinances, and you will keep my statutes, to walk therein. I am Yahwah your Father.

5 Keep my statutes, and my ordinances, which if a man do, he will live in them. I am Yahwah.

6 None of you will approach to any who are near of kin to him, to uncover their nakedness [have sex]. I am Yahwah.

7 Do not uncover the nakedness of your father, even the nakedness of your mother. She is your mother, you will not uncover her nakedness.

8 Do not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife, it is your father's nakedness.

9 Do not uncover the nakedness of your sister, the daughter of your father, or the daughter of your mother, whether born at home, or born abroad, even their nakedness.

10 Do not uncover the nakedness of your son's daughter, or of your daughter's daughter, even their nakedness, for theirs is your own nakedness.

11 Do not uncover the nakedness of your father's wife's daughter, begotten of your father, she is your sister, you will not uncover her nakedness.

12 Do not uncover the nakedness of your father's sister, she is your father's near kinswoman.

13 Do not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, for she is your mother's near kinswoman.

14 Do not uncover the nakedness of your father's brother, you will not approach to his wife, she is your aunt.

15 Do not uncover the nakedness of your daughter-in-law, she is your son's wife, you will not uncover her nakedness.

16 Do not uncover the nakedness of your brother's wife, it is your brother's nakedness.

17 Do not uncover the nakedness of a woman and her daughter. Do not take her son's daughter, or her daughter's daughter, to uncover her nakedness, they are near kinswomen. It is wickedness.

18 Do not take a wife to her sister, to be a rival to her, to uncover her nakedness, besides the other in her life-time.

19 Do not approach to a woman to uncover her nakedness as long as she is impure by her uncleanness [monthly period].

20 Do not lie carnally with your neighbor's wife, to defile yourself with her.

21 Do not give any of your seed [children] to make them pass through the fire to Molech. Neither you will profane the name of your Father. I am Yahwah.

22 Do not lie with mankind, as with womankind. It is abomination.

23 Do not lie with any beast to defile yourself therewith. Neither shall any woman stand before a beast, to lie down thereto. It is confusion.

24 Do not defile yourselves in any of these things, for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out from before you.

25 The land is defiled. Therefore I visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land vomites out her inhabitants.

26 You keep my statutes and my ordinances, and do not do any of these abominations. Neither the home-born, nor the stranger that sojourns among you

27 (for the men of the land who before you did all these abominations, and the land is defiled),

28 that the land not vomit you out also, when you defile it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

29 Whosoever does any of these abominations, even the souls who do them, are cut off from among their people.

30 Therefore you will keep my charge, that you not practise any of these abominable customs, which were practised before you, and that you not defile yourselves therein. I am Yahwah your Father.

Chapter 19

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Speak to all the congregation of the children of Yisrayah, and say to them: Be holy, for I, Yahwah your Father, am holy.

3 Every man fear his mother, and his father, and keep my sabbaths. I am Yahwah your Father.

4 Do not turn to idols, nor make molten gods to yourselves. I am Yahwah your Father.

5 When you offer a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Yahwah, you will offer it that you may be accepted.

6 It will be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the morrow. If anything remains until the third day, it will be burnt with fire.

7 If it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination, it will not be accepted.

8 Every one that eats it will bear his iniquity, because he profaned the holy thing of Yahwah. That soul is cut off from his people.

9 When you reap the harvest of your land, do not wholly reap the corners of your field, nor gather the gleaning of your harvest.

10 Do not glean your vineyard, nor gather the fallen fruit of your vineyard. Leave them for the poor, and for the sojourner. I am Yahwah your Father.

11 Do not steal, neither deal falsely, nor lie one to another.

12 Do not swear falsely by my Name, and profane the Name of your Father. I am Yahwah.

13 Do not oppress your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of a hired servant will not abide with you all night until the morning.

14 Do not curse the deaf, nor put a stumblingblock before the blind, but fear your Father. I am Yahwah.

15 Do no unrighteousness in judgment. Do not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty. Judge your neighbor in righteousness.

16 Do not go up and down as a talebearer among your people. Neither you will stand against the blood of your neighbor. I am Yahwah.

17 Do not hate your brother in your heart. Rebuke your neighbor, do not bear sin because of him.

18 Do not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people. Love your neighbor as yourself. I am Yahwah.

19 Keep my statutes. Do not let your cattle gender with a diverse kind. Do not sow your field with two kinds of seed. Neither will there come upon you a garment of two kinds of stuff mingled together.

20 Whosoever lies carnally with a woman that is a bondmaid, betrothed to a husband, and not at all redeemed, nor freedom given her, they will be punished. They will not be put to death, because she was not free.

21 He will bring his trespass-offering to Yahwah, to the door of the tent of meeting, even a ram for a trespass-offering.

22 The priest will make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass-offering before Yahwah for his sin he sinned. The sin he sinned will be forgiven him.

23 When you will come into the land, and plant all manner of trees for food, count the fruit thereof as their uncircumcision. Three years they will be as uncircumcised to you, it will not be eaten.

24 But in the fourth year all the fruit thereof will be holy, for giving praise to Yahwah.

25 In the fifth year you will eat of the fruit thereof, that it may yield to you the increase thereof. I am Yahwah your Father.

26 Do not eat anything with the blood. Neither you will use enchantments, nor practise augury.

27 Do not round the corners of your heads, neither will you mar the corners of your beard.

28 Do not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you. I am Yahwah.

29 Do not profane your daughter, to make her a harlot, lest the land fall to whoredom, and the land become full of wickedness.

30 Keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary. I am Yahwah.

31 Do not turn to those who have familiar spirits, nor to the wizards. Do not seek them out, to be defiled by them. I am Yahwah your Father.

32 Rise up before the hoary head, and honor the face of the old man, and you will fear your Father. I am Yahwah.

33 If a stranger sojourn with you in your land, you will not do him wrong.

34 The stranger that sojourns with you will be to you as the home-born among you, and you will love him as yourself. For you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. I am Yahwah your Father.

35 Do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity.

36 You will have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin. I am Yahwah your Father, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

37 You will observe all my statutes, all my ordinances, and do them. I am Yahwah.

Chapter 20

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Moreover, say to the children of Yisrayah; Whosoever he is of the children of Yisrayah, or of the strangers that sojourn in Yisrayah, who gives of his seed to Molech, he will surely be put to death. The people of the land will stone him with stones.

3 I also will set my face against that man, and cut him off from among his people because he gave of his seed to Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy Name.

4 If the people at the land do at all hide their eyes from that man, when he gives of his seed to Molech, and not put him to death;

5 then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that play the harlot after him, to play the harlot with Molech, from among their people.

6 The soul that turns to those who have familiar spirits, and to the wizards, to play the harlot after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

7 Sanctify yourselves, and be holy. I am Yahwah your Father.

8 You will keep my statutes, and do them. I am Yahwah who sanctifies you.

9 For every one that curses his father or his mother will surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother, his blood will be upon him.

10 The man that commits adultery with another man's wife, even he that commits adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress will surely be put to death.

11 The man that lies with his father's wife has uncovered his father's nakedness. Both of them will surely be put to death, their blood will be upon them.

12 If a man lie with his daughter-in-law, both of them will surely be put to death. They have wrought confusion, their blood will be upon them.

13 If a man lie with mankind, as with womankind, both of them have committed abomination. They will surely be put to death, their blood will be upon them.

14 If a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness. They will be burnt with fire, both he and they, that there is no wickedness among you.

15 If a man lie with a beast, he will surely be put to death, and you will slay the beast.

16 If a woman approach to any beast, and lie down thereto, you will kill the woman, and the beast. They will surely be put to death, their blood will be upon them.

17 If a man takes his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a shameful thing. They are cut off in the sight of the children of their people. He uncovered his sister's nakedness, he will bear his iniquity.

18 If a man lies with a woman having her sickness, and uncovers her nakedness, he made her fountain naked, and she uncovered the fountain of her blood. Both of them are cut off from among their people.

19 You will not uncover the nakedness of your mother's sister, nor of your father's sister. He made his near kin naked, they will bear their iniquity.

20 If a man lies with his uncle's wife, he has uncovered his uncle's nakedness. They will bear their sin, they will die childless.

21 If a man takes his brother's wife, it is impurity. He uncovered his brother's nakedness, they will be childless.

22 Keep all my statutes, and all my ordinances. Do them, that the land where I bring you to dwell not vomit you out.

23 You will not walk in the customs of the nation I cast out before you. They did all these things, therefore I abhorred them.

24 I said to you, You will inherit their land. I give it to you to possess it, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am Yahwah your Father, who separated you from the peoples.

25 Therefore make a distinction between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the unclean fowl and the clean. Do not make your souls abominable by beast, or by bird, or by anything wherewith the ground teems, which I separated from you as unclean.

26 You will be holy to me. For I, Yahwah, am holy, and set you apart from the peoples, that you should be mine.

27 A man also or a woman who has a familiar spirit, or who is a wizard, will surely be put to death. They will stone them with stones, their blood will be upon them.

Chapter 21

1 Yahwah said to Moshe: Speak to the priests, the sons of Aaron, and say to them; There will none defile himself for the dead among his people.

2 Except for his kin that is near to him, for his mother, for his father, for his son, for his daughter, for his brother,

3 and for his sister a virgin that is near to him, that has had no husband, for her may he defile himself.

4 He will not defile himself, being a chief man among his people, to profane himself.

5 They will not make baldness upon their head, neither will they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in their flesh.

6 They will be holy to their Father, and not profane the Name of their Father. For they offer the offerings of Yahwah made by fire, the bread of their Father. Therefore they will be holy.

7 They will not take a woman that is a harlot, or profane. Neither will they take a woman put away from her husband, for he is holy to his Father.

8 Sanctify him therefore, for he offers the bread of your Father. He will be holy to you, for I, Yahwah, who sanctify you, am holy.

9 The daughter of any priest profanes her father if she profane herself by playing the harlot. She will be burnt with fire.

10 He that is the high priest among his brethren, upon whose head the anointing oil is poured, and that is consecrated to put on the garments, will not let the hair of his head go loose, nor rend his clothes.

11 Neither he will go in to any dead body, nor defile himself for his father, or for his mother.

12 Neither he will go out of the sanctuary, nor profane the sanctuary of his Father. For the crown of the anointing oil of his Father is upon him. I am Yahwah.

13 He will take a wife in her virginity.

14 A widow, or one divorced, or a profane woman, or a harlot, these he will not take. He will take to wife a virgin of his own people.

15 He will not profane his seed among his people. For I am Yahwah who sanctifies him.

16 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

17 Speak to Aaron, saying; Whosoever he is of your seed throughout their generations that has a blemish, let him not approach to offer the bread of his Father.

18 Whatsoever man he is that has a blemish, he will not approach. A blind man, or a lame, or he that has a flat nose, or anything superfluous,

19 or a man that is broken-footed, or broken-handed,

20 or crook-backed, or a dwarf, or that has a blemish in his eye, or is scurvy, or scabbed, or has his stones broken.

21 No man of the seed of Aaron the priest, that has a blemish, will come near to offer the offerings of Yahwah made by fire. He has a blemish, he will not come near to offer the bread of his Father.

22 He will eat the bread of his Father, both of the most holy, and of the holy.

23 Only he will not go in to the veil, nor come near to the altar, because he has a blemish, that he not profane my sanctuaries. For I am Yahwah who sanctifies them.

24 So Moshe spoke to Aaron, and to his sons, and to all the children of Yisrayah.

Chapter 22

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Speak to Aaron, and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Yisrayah, which they hallow to me, and that they not profane my holy Name. I AM Yahwah.

3 Say to them: Whosoever he is of all your seed throughout your generations that approaches to the holy things, which the children of Yisrayah hallow to Yahwah, having his uncleanness upon him, that soul is cut off from before me. I AM Yahwah.

4 What man soever of the seed of Aaron is a leper, or has an issue, he will not eat of the holy things until he is clean. Whoso touches anything that is unclean by the dead, or a man whose seed goes from him,

5 or whosoever touches any creeping thing, whereby he may be made unclean, or a man of whom he may take uncleanness, whatsoever uncleanness he has,

6 the soul that touches any such is unclean until the even, and will not eat of the holy things unless he bathe his flesh in water.

7 When the sun is down, he will be clean. Afterward he will eat of the holy things, because it is his bread.

8 That which dies of itself, or is torn of beasts, he will not eat to defile himself therewith. I am Yahwah.

9 They shall keep my charge, lest they bear sin for it, and die therein if they profane it. I am Yahwah who sanctifies them.

10 No stranger will eat of the holy thing. A sojourner of the priest's, or a hired servant, will not eat of the holy thing.

11 But if a priest buy any soul, the purchase of his money, he will eat of it. And such as are born in his house, they will eat of his bread.

12 If a priest's daughter is married to a stranger, she will not eat of the heave-offering of the holy things.

13 But if a priest's daughter is a widow, or divorced, and has no child, and is returned to her father's house as in her youth, she will eat of her father's bread. But no stranger will eat thereof.

14 If a man eat of the holy thing unwittingly, then he will put the fifth part thereof to it, and give the holy thing to the priest.

15 They will not profane the holy things of the children of Yisrayah, which they offer to Yahwah,

16 and so cause them to bear the iniquity that brings guilt, when they eat their holy things. For I am Yahwah who sanctifies them.

17 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

18 Speak to Aaron, to his sons, to all the children of Yisrayah, and say to them; Whosoever he is of the house of Yisrayah, or of the sojourners in Yisrayah, that offers his oblation, whether it is any of their vows, or any of their freewill-offerings, which they offer to Yahwah for a burnt-offering

19 that you may be accepted, you will offer a male without blemish, of the bulls, of the sheep, or of the goats.

20 You will not offer whatsoever has a blemish. It will not be acceptable for you.

21 Whosoever offers a sacrifice of peace-offerings to Yahwah to accomplish a vow, or for a freewill-offering, of the herd or of the flock, it will be perfect to be accepted. There will be no blemish therein.

22 Blind, or broken, or maimed, or having a wen, or scurvy, or scabbed, you will not offer these to Yahwah, nor make an offering by fire of them upon the altar to Yahwah.

23 Either a bull or a lamb that has anything superfluous or lacking in his parts, that you may offer for a freewill-offering, but for a vow it will not be accepted.

24 That which has its stones bruised, or crushed, or broken, or cut, you will not offer to Yahwah. Neither you will do thus in your land.

25 Neither from the hand of a foreigner you will offer the bread of your Father of any of these, because their corruption is in them. There is a blemish in them, they will not be accepted for you.

26 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

27 When a bull, or a sheep, or a goat, is brought forth, then it will be seven days under the dam. From the eighth day and thenceforth it will be accepted for the oblation of an offering made by fire to Yahwah.

28 Whether it is cow or ewe, you will not kill it and its young both in one day.

29 When you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Yahwah, you will sacrifice it that you may be accepted.

30 It will be eaten on the same day, you will leave none of it until the morning. I am Yahwah.

31 Keep my commandments, and do them. I am Yahwah.

32 You will not profane my holy Name, but I will be hallowed among the children of Yisrayah. I am Yahwah who hallows you,

33 who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your Father. I am Yahwah.

Chapter 23

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, and say to them:

3 Work will be done six days. But the seventh day is a sabbath of solemn rest, a holy convocation. Do no manner of work. It is a sabbath to Yahwah in all your dwellings.

4 These are the set feasts of Yahwah, even holy convocations, which you shall proclaim in their appointed season:

5 In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month between the evenings, is Yahwah's passover.

6 On the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread to Yahwah. You will eat unleavened bread seven days.

7 In the first day you will have a holy convocation. Do no servile work.

8 You will offer an offering made by fire to Yahwah seven days. In the seventh day is a holy convocation, you will do no servile work.

9 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

10 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, and say to them; When you come into the land I give to you, and reap the harvest thereof, then you will bring the sheaf of the first-fruits of your harvest to the priest.

11 He will wave the sheaf before Yahwah, to be accepted for you. On the morrow after the sabbath the priest will wave it.

12 In the day when you wave the sheaf, you will offer a he-lamb without blemish a year old for a burnt-offering to Yahwah.

13 The meal-offering thereof will be two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour mingled with oil, an offering made by fire to Yahwah for a sweet savor. The drink-offering thereof will be of wine, the fourth part of a hin.

14 You will eat neither bread, nor parched grain, nor fresh ears, until this selfsame day, until you bring the oblation of your Father. It is a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

15 You will count to you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day you brought the sheaf of the wave-offering, seven sabbaths there shall be complete.

16 Even to the morrow after the seventh sabbath you will number fifty days. You will offer a new meal-offering to Yahwah.

17 Bring out of your habitations two wave-loaves of two tenth parts of an ephah. They will be of fine flour, they will be baken with leaven, for first-fruits to Yahwah.

18 With the bread you will present seven lambs without blemish a year old, one young bull, and two rams. They are a burnt-offering to Yahwah, with their meal-offering, and their drink-offerings, even an offering made by fire, of a sweet savor to Yahwah.

19 You will offer one he-goat for a sin-offering, and two he-lambs a year old for a sacrifice of peace-offerings.

20 The priest will wave them with the bread of the first-fruits for a wave-offering before Yahwah, with the two lambs. They are holy to Yahwah for the priest.

21 You will make proclamation on the selfsame day. There will be a holy convocation to you, you will do no servile work. It is a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

22 When you reap the harvest of your land, you will not wholly reap the corners of your field, neither will you gather the gleaning of your harvest. Leave them for the poor, and for the sojourner. I am Yahwah your Father.

23 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

24 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, saying; In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, is a solemn rest to you, a memorial of blowing of trumpets [zikarown teruah], a holy convocation.

25 Do no servile work, and you will offer an offering made by fire to Yahwah.

26 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

27 Howbeit on the tenth day of this seventh month is the day of atonement. It is a holy convocation to you. You will afflict your souls, and you will offer an offering made by fire to Yahwah.

28 You will do no manner of work in that same day, for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement for you before Yahwah your Father.

29 Whatsoever soul it is who is not afflicted in that same day, he is cut off from his people.

30 Whatsoever soul it is who does any manner of work in that same day, I will destroy that soul from among his people.

31 Do no manner of work. It is a statute for ever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.

32 It is a sabbath of solemn rest to you, and you will afflict your souls. In the ninth day of the month at even, from even to even, you will keep your sabbath.

33 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

34 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, saying; On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the feast of tabernacles for seven days to Yahwah.

35 The first day is a holy convocation, you will do no servile work.

36 Seven days you will offer an offering made by fire to Yahwah. On the eighth day is a holy convocation to you, and you will offer an offering made by fire to Yahwah. It is a solemn assembly, you will do no servile work.

37 These are the set feasts of Yahwah, which you will proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire to Yahwah, a burnt-offering, a meal-offering, a sacrifice, and drink-offerings, each on its own day;

38 besides the sabbaths of Yahwah, besides your gifts, besides all your vows, and besides all your freewill-offerings which you give to Yahwah.

39 Howbeit on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you gather in the fruits of the land, you will keep the feast of Yahwah seven days. On the first day is a solemn rest, and on the eighth day is a solemn rest.

40 You will take you on the first day the fruit of goodly trees, branches of palm-trees, boughs of thick trees, willows of the brook, and you will rejoice before Yahwah your Father seven days.

41 You will keep it a feast to Yahwah seven days in the year. It is a statute for ever throughout your generations, you will keep it in the seventh month.

42 You will dwell in booths seven days. All that are home-born in Yisrayah will dwell in booths

43 that your generations know I made the children of Yisrayah to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I am Yahwah your Father.

44 Moshe declared to the children of Yisrayah the set feasts of Yahwah.

Chapter 24

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Command the children of Yisrayah, that they bring to you pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.

3 Without the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, Aaron will keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahwah continually. It is a statute for ever throughout your generations.

4 He will keep in order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before Yahwah continually.

5 You will take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof. Two tenth parts of an ephah will be in one cake.

6 Set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before Yahwah.

7 Put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire to Yahwah.

8 Every sabbath day he will set it in order before Yahwah continually. It is on the behalf of the children of Yisrayah, an everlasting covenant.

9 It is for Aaron and his sons. They will eat it in a holy place, for it is most holy to him of the offerings of Yahwah made by fire by a perpetual statute.

10 The son of an Yisrayahitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Yisrayah. The son of the Yisrayahitish woman and man of Yisrayah strove together in the camp.

11 The son of the Yisrayahitish woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed. They brought him to Moshe. His mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.

12 They put him in ward, that it might be declared to them at the mouth of Yahwah.

13 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

14 Bring forth without the camp him that cursed, let all who heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

15 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, saying: Whosoever curses his Father will bear his sin.

16 He who blasphemes the Name of Yahwah, he will surely be put to death. All the congregation will certainly stone him. As well the sojourner, as the home-born, when he blasphemes the Name of Yahwah, will be put to death.

17 He that smites any man mortally will surely be put to death.

18 He that smites a beast mortally will make it good, life for life.

19 If a man cause a blemish in his neighbor, as he has done, so it will be done to him.

20 Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. As he caused a blemish in a man, so it will be rendered to him.

21 He that kills a beast will make it good. He that kills a man will be put to death.

22 You will have one manner of law, as well for the sojourner, as for the home-born. For I am Yahwah your Father.

23 Moshe spoke to the children of Yisrayah. They brought him that cursed forth out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. The children of Yisrayah did as Yahwah commanded Moshe.

Chapter 25

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe in Mount Sinai, saying:

2 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, and say to them; When you come into the land I give you, the land will keep a sabbath to Yahwah.

3 Six years you will sow your field, and six years you will prune your vineyard, and gather in the fruits thereof.

4 But in the seventh year will be a sabbath of solemn rest for the land, a sabbath to Yahwah. You will neither sow your field, nor prune your vineyard.

5 You will not reap that which grows of itself of your harvest, and you will not gather the grapes of your undressed vine. It will be a year of solemn rest for the land.

6 The sabbath of the land is for food for you. For you, for your servant, for your maid, for your hired servant, for your stranger who sojourn with you,

7 for your cattle, and for the beasts that are in your land, all the increase thereof will be for food.

8 You will number seven sabbaths of years to you, seven times seven years. There will be to you the days of seven sabbaths of years, even forty and nine years.

9 Then you will send abroad the loud trumpet [shofar teruah] on the tenth day of the seventh month. In the day of atonement you will send abroad the trumpet throughout all your land.

10 You will hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all the inhabitants thereof. It is a jubilee to you. You will return every man to his possession, and you will return every man to his family.

11 That fiftieth year will be a jubilee to you. You will not sow, neither reap what grows of itself in it, nor gather the grapes in it of the undressed vines.

12 It is a jubilee, it will be holy to you. You will eat the increase thereof out of the field.

13 In this year of jubilee you will return every man to his possession.

14 If you sell anything to your neighbor, or buy of your neighbor's hand, you will not wrong one another.

15 According to the number of years after the jubilee you will buy of your neighbor. According to the number of years of the crops he will sell to you.

16 According to the multitude of the years you will increase the price thereof, and according to the fewness of the years you will diminish the price of it, for the number of the crops he sells to you.

17 You will not wrong one another, but you will fear your Father. I am Yahwah your Father.

18 Wherefore you will do my statutes, keep my ordinances, and do them. You will dwell in the land in safety.

19 The land will yield its fruit, you will eat your fill, and dwell therein in safety.

20 If you say: What will we eat the seventh year? Behold, we will not sow, nor gather in our increase.

21 Then I will command my blessing upon you in the sixth year, and it will bring forth fruit for the three years.

22 You will sow the eighth year, and eat of the fruits, the old store. Until the ninth year, until its fruits come in, you will eat the old store.

23 The land will not be sold in perpetuity, for the land is Mine. You are strangers and sojourners with Me.

24 You will grant a redemption for the land in all the land of your possession.

25 If your brother is waxed poor, and sell some of his possession, then his kinsman that is next to him will come and redeem that which his brother sold.

26 If a man has no one to redeem it, and he is waxed rich, and find sufficient to redeem it,

27 then let him reckon the years of the sale thereof, and restore the overplus to the man to whom he sold it. He will return to his possession.

28 If he is not able to get it back for himself, then what he sold will remain in the hand of him who bought it until the year of jubilee. In the jubilee it will go out, and he will return to his possession.

29 If a man sell a dwelling-house in a walled city, then he may redeem it within a whole year after it is sold. For a full year he will have the right of redemption.

30 If it is not redeemed within the space of a full year, then the house that is in the walled city will be made sure in perpetuity to him who bought it, throughout his generations. It will not go out in the jubilee.

31 But the houses of the villages which have no wall round about them will be reckoned with the fields of the country. They may be redeemed, and they go out in the jubilee.

32 Nevertheless the cities of the Levites, the houses of the cities of their possession, the Levites may redeem at any time.

33 If one of the Levites redeem, then the house that was sold, and the city of his possession, shall go out in the jubilee. For the houses of the cities of the Levites are their possession among the children of Yisrayah.

34 But the field of the suburbs of their cities may not be sold, for it is their perpetual possession.

35 If your brother is waxed poor, and his hand fail with you, then you will uphold him. He will live with you as a stranger and a sojourner.

36 Take no interest of him or increase, but fear your Father, that your brother may live with you.

37 Do not give him your money upon interest, nor give him your victuals for increase.

38 I am Yahwah your Father, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan, and to be your Father.

39 If your brother is waxed poor with you, and sell himself to you, you will not make him to serve as a bond-servant.

40 He will be with you as a hired servant, and as a sojourner. He will serve with you to the year of jubilee.

41 Then he will go out from you, he and his children with him, and will return to his own family, and he will return to the possession of his fathers.

42 They are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt. They will not be sold as bondmen.

43 Do not rule over him with rigor, but fear your Father.

44 As for your bondmen, and your bondmaids, whom you will have, you will buy bondmen and bondmaids of the nations that are round about you.

45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that sojourn among you, of them you will buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begot in your land. They will be your possession.

46 You will make them an inheritance for your children after you, to hold for a possession. Of them you will take your bondmen for ever. You will not rule with rigor over your brethren the children of Yisrayah, one over another.

47 If a stranger or sojourner with you is waxed rich, and your brother is waxed poor beside him, and sell himself to the stranger or sojourner with you, or to the stock of the stranger's family,

48 after he is sold he may be redeemed. One of his brethren may redeem him,

49 or his uncle, or his uncle's son, may redeem him, or any that is near of kin to him of his family may redeem him. Or if he is waxed rich, he may redeem himself.

50 He will reckon with him that bought him from the year he sold himself to him to the year of jubilee. The price of his sale will be according to the number of years, according to the time of a hired servant he will be with him.

51 If there are yet many years, according to them he will give back the price of his redemption out of the money he was bought for.

52 If there remain but few years to the year of jubilee, then he will reckon with him. According to his years he will give back the price of his redemption.

53 As a servant hired year by year he will be with him, he will not rule with rigor over him in your sight.

54 If he is not redeemed by these means, then he will go out in the year of jubilee. He, and his children with him.

55 For the children of Yisrayah are servants to me. They are my servants whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt. I am Yahwah your Father.

Chapter 26

1 Make no idols. Neither will you rear up a graven image, or a pillar. Neither will you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it. I am Yahwah your Father.

2 You will keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary. I am Yahwah.

3 If you walk in my statutes, keep my commandments, and do them,

4 I will give you rains in their season. The land will yield its increase, and the trees of the field will yield their fruit.

5 Your threshing will reach to the vintage, and the vintage will reach to the sowing time. You will eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

6 I will give peace in the land, you will lie down, and none will make you afraid. I will cause evil beasts to cease out of the land, neither will the sword go through your land.

7 You will chase your enemies, they will fall before you by the sword.

8 Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand. Your enemies will fall before you by the sword.

9 I will have respect to you, make you fruitful, multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you.

10 You will eat old store long kept, and you will bring forth the old because of the new.

11 I will set my tabernacle among you. My soul will not abhor you.

12 I will walk among you. I will be your Father, and you will be my people.

13 I am Yahwah your Father, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their bondmen. I broke the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright.

14 If you will not hearken to me, and will not do all these commandments,

15 if you reject my statutes, and if your soul abhor my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant,

16 I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that will consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away. You will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.

17 I will set my face against you, and you will be smitten before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you. You will flee when none pursues you.

18 If you will not yet for these things hearken to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.

19 I will break the pride of your power. I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass.

20 Your strength will be spent in vain, for your land will not yield its increase, neither will the trees of the land yield their fruit.

21 If you walk contrary to me, and will not hearken to me, I will bring seven times more plagues upon you according to your sins.

22 I will send the beast of the field among you, which will rob you of your children, destroy your cattle, and make you few in number. Your ways will become desolate.

23 If by these things you will not be reformed to me, but will walk contrary to me,

24 I will also walk contrary to you. I will smite you, even I, seven times for your sins.

25 I will bring a sword upon you that will execute the vengeance of the covenant. You will be gathered together within your cities, and I will send the pestilence among you. You will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

26 When I break your staff of bread, ten women will bake your bread in one oven, and they will deliver your bread again by weight. You will eat, and not be satisfied.

27 If you will not hearken to me for all this, but walk contrary to me,

28 I will walk contrary to you in wrath, and I will also chastise you seven times for your sins.

29 You will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.

30 I will destroy your high places, cut down your sun-images, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols. My soul will abhor you.

31 I will make your cities a waste, bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not smell the savor of your sweet odors.

32 I will bring the land into desolation. Your enemies that dwell therein will be astonished at it.

33 I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you. Your land will be a desolation, and your cities will be a waste.

34 The land will enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate, and you are in your enemies' land. Even then the land will rest, and enjoy its sabbaths.

35 As long as it lies desolate it will have rest, even the rest it did not have in your sabbaths, when you dwelt upon it.

36 As for those who are left of you, I will send a faintness into their heart in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a driven leaf will chase them, and they will flee as one flees from the sword. They will fall when none pursues.

37 They will stumble one upon another, as it were before the sword, when none pursues. You will have no power to stand before your enemies.

38 You will perish among the nations, the land of your enemies will eat you up.

39 Those who are left of you will pine away in their iniquity in your enemies' lands. Also in the iniquities of their fathers they will pine away with them.

40 They will confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass they trespassed against me.

41 I walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies, because they walked contrary to me. If then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they accept of the punishment of their iniquity,

42 then I will remember my covenant with Yaacob. I will remember my covenant with Isaac, my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

43 The land will be left by them, and enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them. They will accept of the punishment of their iniquity because, even because they rejected mine ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

44 Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them. For I am Yahwah their Father.

45 For their sakes I will remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought forth out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their Father. I am Yahwah.

46 These are the statutes, ordinances, and torah, which Yahwah made between Him [YHWH] and the children of Yisrayah [Israel] in Mount Sinai by Moshe.

Chapter 27

1 Yahwah spoke to Moshe, saying:

2 Speak to the children of Yisrayah, and say to them; When a man shall accomplish a vow, the persons will be for Yahwah by your estimation.

3 Your estimation will be of the male from twenty years old even to sixty years old, even your estimation will be fifty shekels of silver, after the shekel of the sanctuary.

4 If it is a female, then your estimation will be thirty shekels.

5 If it is from five years old even to twenty years old, then your estimation will be of the male twenty shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

6 If it is from a month old even to five years old, then your estimation will be of the male five shekels of silver, and for the female your estimation will be three shekels of silver.

7 If it is from sixty years old and upward. If it is a male, then your estimation will be fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

8 But if he is poorer than your estimation, he will be set before the priest, and the priest will value him. According to the ability of him that vowed the priest will value him.

9 If it is a beast, whereof men offer an oblation to Yahwah, all that any man gives of such to Yahwah will be holy.

10 He will not alter it, nor change it, a good for a bad, or a bad for a good. If he at all change beast for beast, then both it and that for which it is changed will be holy.

11 If it is any unclean beast, of which they do not offer an oblation to Yahwah, then he will set the beast before the priest.

12 The priest will value it, whether it is good or bad. As you the priest values it, so it will be.

13 But if he will indeed redeem it, then he will add the fifth part thereof to your estimation.

14 When a man sanctifies his house to be holy to Yahwah, then the priest will estimate it, whether it is good or bad. As the priest will estimate it, so it will stand.

15 If he that sanctified it will redeem his house, then he will add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it will be his.

16 If a man will sanctify to Yahwah part of the field of his possession, then your estimation will be according to the sowing thereof. The sowing of a homer of barley will be valued at fifty shekels of silver.

17 If he sanctify his field from the year of jubilee, according to your estimation it will stand.

18 But if he sanctify his field after the jubilee, then the priest will reckon to him the money according to the years that remain to the year of jubilee. An abatement will be made from your estimation.

19 If he that sanctified the field will indeed redeem it, then he will add the fifth part of the money of your estimation to it, and it will be assured to him.

20 If he will not redeem the field, or if he sold the field to another man, it will not be redeemed any more.

21 When the field goes out in the jubilee it will be holy to Yahwah as a field devoted. The possession thereof will be the priest's.

22 If he sanctify to Yahwah a field he bought, which is not of the field of his possession,

23 then the priest will reckon to him the worth of your estimation to the year of jubilee. He will give your estimation in that day, as a holy thing to Yahwah.

24 In the year of jubilee the field will return to him of whom it was bought, even to him to whom the possession of the land belongs.

25 All your estimations will be according to the shekel of the sanctuary. The shekel is twenty gerahs.

26 Only the firstling among beasts, which is made a firstling to Yahwah, no man will sanctify it. Whether it is ox or sheep, it is Yahwah's.

27 If it is of an unclean beast, he will ransom it according to your estimation, and add the fifth part thereof to it. Or if it is not redeemed, then it will be sold according to your estimation.

28 Notwithstanding, no devoted thing, that a man devotes to Yahwah of all he has, whether of man or beast, or of the field of his possession, will be sold or redeemed. Every devoted thing is most holy to Yahwah.

29 No one devoted, that is devoted from among men, will be ransomed. He will surely be put to death.

30 All the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is Yahwah's. It is holy to Yahwah.

31 If a man will redeem anything of his tithe, he will add the fifth part thereof to it.

32 All the tithe of the herd or the flock, whatsoever passes under the rod, the tenth is holy to Yahwah.

33 He will not search whether it is good or bad, neither will he change it. If he change it at all, then both it and that for which it is changed will be holy. It will not be redeemed.

34 These are the commandments Yahwah commanded Moshe for the children of Yisrayah in mount Sinai.
