Prophet MalakYah

The Book of MalakYah [Messenger of Yahwah]-[Malachi]

Chapter 1

1 The burden of the Word of Yahwah to Yisrayah [Israel] by MalakYah [Malachi].

2 I love you: says Yahwah [YHWH]. Yet you say: Do you really love us? Was Esau not Yaacob's brother: says Yahwah; yet I loved Yaacob [Jacob]?

3 Esau I hated, made his mountains a desolation, and gave his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness.

4 Edom says: We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places. This says Yahwah of hosts: They will build, but I will throw down. Men will call them: The border of wickedness, the people against whom Yahwah has indignation forever.

5 Your eyes will see, and you will say: Yahwah is magnified beyond the border of Yisrayah.

6 A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am a Father, where is my honor? And if I am a Master, where is my fear? says Yahwah of hosts to you, O priests who despise my Name. And you say: When did we despise your Name?

7 You offer polluted bread upon my altar. And you say: When did we pollute you? In that you say: The table of Yahwah is contemptible.

8 And, when you offer the blind for sacrifice, it is no evil! And, when you offer the lame and sick, it is no evil! Present it now to your governor, will he be pleased with you? Or will he accept your person: says Yahwah of hosts?

9 I pray you, ask the favor of Yahwah, that He may be gracious to us. This was by your means, will He accept any of your persons: says Yahwah of hosts?

10 Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you: says Yahwah of hosts. I will not accept an offering from your hand.

11 My name is being honored among pagans from sunrise to sunset, and a pure offering burned in honor of my name on every sacred spot. For among pagans my name is being honored: says Yahwah of hosts.

12 But you profane it, in that you say: The table of Yahwah is polluted, and the fruit there, even its food, is contemptible.

13 You say also: Behold, what a weariness it is! You snuffed at it: says Yahwah of hosts. You brought that which was taken by violence, the lame, and the sick (thus you bring the offering), should I accept this at your hand: says Yahwah?

14 But cursed is the deceiver, who has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to Yahwah a blemished thing. I am a great King: says Yahwah of hosts. My Name is terrible among the Gentiles.

Chapter 2

1 O you priests, this commandment is for you.

2 If you will not hear, and if you will not lay it to heart, to give glory to my Name: says Yahwah of hosts; then I will send the curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. Yea, I cursed them already, because you do not lay it to heart.

3 Behold, I will rebuke your seed, and spread dung upon your faces, even the dung of your feasts, and you will be taken away with it.

4 You will know I sent this commandment to you, that my covenant may be with Levi: says Yahwah of hosts.

5 My covenant was with him of life and peace. I gave them to him that he might fear. And he feared me, and stood in awe of my Name.

6 The law of truth was in his mouth, and unrighteousness was not found in his lips. He walked with me in peace and uprightness, and turned many away from iniquity.

7 The priest's lips should keep knowledge, and they should seek the law at his mouth, for he is the messenger of Yahwah of hosts.

8 But you are turned aside out of the way, you caused many to stumble in the law, you corrupted the covenant of Levi: says Yahwah of hosts.

9 Therefore I make you contemptible and base before all the people, according as you did not keep my ways, but had respect of persons in the law.

10 Have we not all one Father? Didn't one Yahwah create us? Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, profaning the covenant of our fathers?

11 Yahudah deals treacherously, an abomination is committed in Yisrayah, and in Yerusalem. Yahudah profanes the holiness of Yahwah which He loves, and married the daughter of a foreign god.

12 Yahwah will cut off out of the tents of Yaacob (him who wakes and him who answers) the man who does this: him who offers an offering to the LORD of hosts.

13 And this again you do; you cover the altar of Yahwah with tears, with weeping, and with sighing, insomuch that He does not regard the offering any more, nor receives it with good will at your hand.

14 Yet you say: Why? Because Yahwah is witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you dealt treacherously, though she is your companion, and the wife of your covenant.

15 Did he not make one, although he had the residue of the Spirit? And why one? He wants a righteous seed. Therefore take heed to your spirit, and let none deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.

16 I hate putting away: says Yahwah, the Father of Yisrayah; and him who covers his garment with violence. Yahwah of hosts says: Therefore take heed to your spirit, that you not deal treacherously.

17 You weary Yahwah with your words. Yet you say: When do we weary Him? In that you say: Everyone who does evil is good in the sight of Yahwah, and He delights in them. Where is the Father of justice?

Chapter 3

1 Behold, I send my messenger [Yahchanan], and he will prepare The Way before Me. Then the Messiyah [Yahshua] whom you seek will suddenly come to His temple. The messenger of the covenant, whom you desire, behold, He comes: says Yahwah of hosts. [Isaiah 40:3, Exodus 23:20]

2 But who can abide the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? He is like a refiner's fire, and like fuller's soap [bleach].

3 He sits as a refiner and purifier of silver. He purifies the sons of Levi, refines them as gold and silver, and they offer to Yahwah offerings in righteousness.

4 Then the offering of Yahudah [Judah] and Yerusalem [Jerusalem] will be pleasant to Yahwah, as in the days of old, and as in ancient years.

5 I will come near to you to judgment. I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against the false swearers, against those who oppress the hireling in his wages (and the widow, and the fatherless), who turn aside the sojourner from his right, and not fear Me: says Yahwah of hosts.

6 I, Yahwah, do not change. Therefore you, O sons of Yaacob, are not consumed.

7 From the days of your fathers you turned aside from my ordinances, and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you: says Yahwah of hosts. But you say: Why shall we return?

8 Will a man rob Yahwah? Yet you rob Me. But you say: When do we rob you? In tithes and offerings.

9 You are cursed with the curse, for you rob Me, even this whole nation.

10 Bring you the whole tithe into the store-house, that there may be food in my house, and prove Me now: says Yahwah of hosts. I will open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there will not be room enough to receive it.

11 I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he will not destroy the fruits of your ground, nor will your vine cast its fruit before the time in the field: says Yahwah of hosts.

12 All nations will call you happy, for you will be a delightsome land: says Yahwah of hosts.

13 Your words are stout against Me: says Yahwah. Yet you say: What did we say against you?

14 You said: It is vain to serve Yahwah. What profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked mournfully before Yahwah of hosts?

15 And now we call the proud happy. Yea, those who work wickedness are built up. Yea, they tempt Yahwah, and escape.

16 Then those who feared Yahwah spoke one with another. Yahwah hearkened, and heard. A book of remembrance was written before Him, for those who feared Yahwah, and who thought upon His Name.

17 They are mine: says Yahwah of hosts. Even my own possession. In the day that I make I will spare them, as a man spares his own son who serves him.

18 Then you will return and discern between the righteous, and the wicked; between him who serves Yahwah, and him who does not serve Him.

Chapter 4

1 Behold, the day comes, it burns as a furnace! All the proud, and all who work wickedness, will be stubble. The day that comes will burn them up: says Yahwah of hosts. It will leave them neither root nor branch.

2 But to you who fear my Name the light of righteousness will arise with healing in its wings. You will go forth, leaping like calves released from the stall.

3 You will tread down the wicked, for they will be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day I make: says Yahwah of hosts.

4 Remember the Law of Moshe my servant, which I commanded to him in Horeb for all Yisrayah, with statutes and ordinances.

5 Behold, I will send you Eliyah the prophet before the great and terrible day of Yahwah comes. [Matthew 17:10-11]

6 He will turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, before I come and smite the earth with a curse.
